I mean the Ezio's message's reach was way behind Desmond. We all been there... We all got that feeling of hope, self-respect and inspiration.. Only the Ezio was the mentor for all of us, thats why we respect him more than other assasin mentors, at least I do

    Assassin’s Creed 2 had a similar message:
“We don’t need anyone to tell us what to do. We are free to follow our own path. There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it. But it is our ability to choose - whatever you think is true that makes us human… There is no book or teacher to give you the answers, to show you the path. Choose your own way! Do not follow me. Or anyone else.”
    - Ezio Auditore da Firenze

He literally encourages people to find their "own truth" and to not listen to anyone or anything. If this is the case, then there is no such thing as truth due to everyone having a different idea of what truth is. Real truth is absolute, and it doesn't matter what one's opinions or views are. Ezio here essentially encourages people to follow a relativistic mindset.
