I kinda think the promotional material hold their own lore, tell their own stories... Like it presents characters in a way you can see *clear* story progressions. The Prisoner class for example, in the early promotion, in one of the first picture we got of them, are walking menacingly, flail in hand, towards an afraid Carian Knight; in the second picture we got in the early days you can see the Carian Knight dead in a pool of blood while the Prisoner is looking up "at us", so one's assumes he killed his target; and then, when we finally got our hands on the game, the description of the Prisoner class reads that the Prisoner was "bound in an iron mask. [He] studied in glintstone sorcery, having lived among the elite prior to sentencing". Then it goes a little deeper, and you have his starting spell, "Magic Glintblade", who states that it is said to be "a prototype of the sword-phalanx soerceries wielded by royal enchanted knights". So with all this we can assume the promotion is trying to build a story there, too. It's coherent. The Prisoner studied magic at the Academy, rubbed shoulders with the elite, was probably a Carian Knight or on the path to become one; he was then imprisoned, for some reason, by none other than those who hold power enough to imprison anybody, so probably those same elites, probably the Carian Royals; he then somehow escaped, killed his jailer (the Carian Knight we see in the pictures), and went on his journey. Most definitely little stories with the promotional images @V-Limit should study that, would make a nice video.
Considering how Vargram is used in marketing as an analogy for the player, he seemingly failed in his aspirations of becoming a shadowbound beast, and we're the ones to kill him - it seems fitting with fromsoft's style of storytelling for their to be an irony there, perhaps in us getting closer to his aspiration than he ever did? What I'm saying is, it's possibly another good thread of evidence towards Melina being the Gloam-Eyed Queen. Not to mention, I think Vargram is a pretty good candidate for the character of "Torrent's former master," which would indicate that he likely met Melina in the past.
I like this theory but i wonder why melina and torrebt would leave him then. If melina is the new “vessel” for destined death would that mean that he would have stayed her loyal shadow? Maybe even turning elden lord just for her goals. But perhaps their goals were conflicting each other. Since melina wants to be sacrificed too burn down the thorns of the elden tree and not gaining power like few of the other demi gods
Torrents former master is Miquella, I think. Ranni originally appears before you in a fog that's reminiscent of the sleep fog, and he's shown riding Torrent in the dlc announcement art. Why would Miquella be riding Torrent?
You know Vargram could be very well be the player but in another timeline since eldenring literally goes off with time travel because of the people we invaded in their world/game. And then we see them another time in game alive and well

This editing was great, never really heard some of the lines bernahl said but they're pretty cool. My hope is that they revamp the NPC quest lines a bit if and when they release the next DLC.
From Soft is always doing the Laura Palmer principle with its characters. Red Knight from dark souls 3's cover comes to mind. Another good example would be Allfather Lloyd, who is the head of the most prominent religion in Dark Souls, but never actually appears, and you mostly learn the story of his rule after the fact, after the reveal that the Way of White then went to Gwyndolin and his Darkmoon Blades, and then finally Sulyvahn, who became a darkmoon blade as a means of infiltration. It's all there, like how Vyke's entire arc has already ended. The only trace of his will that remains is with his lover, Lansseax. The Three fingers burned the rest of him away
I really hope the DLC lets us meet a Past Vargram given how often soulsborne games allow us to go into the past. It would be cool if you meet the GEQ via Vargram. I think he's so freaking cool, but so sad he's barely in the game. His lore has such crazy implications too.

I don't remember this one very well, she also said she based the appearance of her doll on her Master - Ranni's doll body looks suspiciously similar to Milena, the only biggest difference being the hair size, also the fact that the hair is unkempt but this could just be an innacuracy with the doll - Melina gives the player Torrent, both Ranni and Milena know Torrent chooses their next rider somehow - If you deny Melina's sacrifice by burning yourself through the frenzy flame ending, Melina's right eye open and she has a lavender color eye, which may or may not be a gloamed eye but its uncertain. Her hair also become unkempt like Ranni's doll body hair Some counterpoints: - Why does no one know about Melina besides potentially Ranni? At the very least no one mentions her, not even Gideon, specially since he mentions how Ranni died. The only explanation I have for it is that she was born in secret so that Radagon couldn't know (don't ask me how), and she managed to never be found out - How did Melina lose her memories? How did she become a spirit? Its said that Maliketh killed the GEQ, but that I have no idea how that would keep Melina spirit intact, unless Mliketh decided to revenge for Godwyn and killed her body as well? but that makes no sense
Love your videos so much!!!! It is really curious that both the Sacred Relic Sword and the Godslayer Greatsword are coiled swords. the later is also also really organic in its motif!
The fact that Bernahl may have been killing old friends here, considering he was the closest tarnished to becoming lord (apart from Vyke), is really sad. He thinks that if they continue their path of being tarnished, they will only be met with the same sorrow he was. He probably thinks that he's putting them out of their misery.
a bit of an aside, but Blaidd and Maliketh having the "義弟" kanji and being described as half- or step-brothers in the translation makes more sense if one knows about how adoption can work in Japan. They have a long history of adoption for the preservation of a household name over blood ties, so you'll find businesses that have been "in the family" for centuries because the owner adopted someone into their family legally and then passed it down to them. They give up their former family ties entirely down to the name, and are in all purposes part of the new one. That was the sort of feeling i got from those two being described as siblings to their Empyreans.
So, vargram wanted to be a shadow, wielded a blackflame weapon which is heavily associated with the gloom eyed queen. And we also know that Melina is heavily speculated to be the queen herself or the former queen. She has a black knife moveset, which is swapped out for erdtree incantations instead of the destined death ones the knives wield. The pieces of the puzzle are here, but the final picture is hard to decipher. Maybe vargram was melinas follower when she was a normal empyrean candidate, before she was defeated as the gloom eyed queen by maliketh and had her power sealed. He used the ash spirit wolves and had torrent perhaps, but that doesnt exactly explain how ranni got ahold of it, unless theres a connection between melina and ranni?
Vargram wanted to become the shadow of the gloam eyed queen but every shadow must be created by the tow fingers like Malekith and Blaid so that was illegal , that is why he was imprisoned in the roundtable hold with Welhelm and Alberich
On a side note people should look into the gloam eyed queen it is really interesting and many think she is your maiden(can’t think of her name) especially after the frenzied flame ending there are videos over the topic
Crazy how weapons like marika's hammer, the godslayer greatsword, the black knife, and maliketh's black blade aren't legendary armaments. They are some of the most important items in the entirety of elden ring's lore
I want to make myself believe that whenever fromsoftware make an NPC they try to make it good. and whenever they get tired of that character they'll toss it to the player to kill kind of like that "im done playing with you anymore" meme lol
An alternative option for the GEQ's lack of a Shadowbound beast could be that she was Marika. If we take into account the potential parallel in Ranni's quest. Maliketh would've "succeeded" where Blaidd "failed" in function as a failsafe to protect the Greater Will's interest (as translated via Fingers). I find this solution actually explains a lot. I think Malenia and Miquella's lack of a shadowbound can be explained by the fact that they are direct clones. So in essense, Maliketh is both their shadowbound. Only he's bwoken rn. (or one could argue Malenia is Miquella's shadowbound) My starting class in the test version! Vargram was just a fan-boy, like the player-character lol
It's baffling how Vargram and Vyke barely exist in game.
ancient greek philosophers outside of the heads of nerds know that feeling too well my dear featherless biped

- Melina gives the player Torrent, both Ranni and Milena know Torrent chooses their next rider somehow
- If you deny Melina's sacrifice by burning yourself through the frenzy flame ending, Melina's right eye open and she has a lavender color eye, which may or may not be a gloamed eye but its uncertain. Her hair also become unkempt like Ranni's doll body hair
Some counterpoints:
- Why does no one know about Melina besides potentially Ranni? At the very least no one mentions her, not even Gideon, specially since he mentions how Ranni died. The only explanation I have for it is that she was born in secret so that Radagon couldn't know (don't ask me how), and she managed to never be found out
- How did Melina lose her memories? How did she become a spirit? Its said that Maliketh killed the GEQ, but that I have no idea how that would keep Melina spirit intact, unless Mliketh decided to revenge for Godwyn and killed her body as well? but that makes no sense
at least vyke isnt the only one used for premotion that got undercut super hard

I knew it The Gloam eyed Queen wasn't mentioned to have a shadow so yeah I really supprt this theory.
Love your videos so much!!!! It is really curious that both the Sacred Relic Sword and the Godslayer Greatsword are coiled swords. the later is also also really organic in its motif!
Holy Crap it's John Elden RIng, from the hit-game Elden Ring
The fact that Bernahl may have been killing old friends here, considering he was the closest tarnished to becoming lord (apart from Vyke), is really sad.
He thinks that if they continue their path of being tarnished, they will only be met with the same sorrow he was. He probably thinks that he's putting them out of their misery.
Earned a sub. That mrbeast made me chuckle
a bit of an aside, but Blaidd and Maliketh having the "義弟" kanji and being described as half- or step-brothers in the translation makes more sense if one knows about how adoption can work in Japan.
3 playthroughs and i never met him
I love and hate the Mr. Beast joke with the raging wolf
My only comment is that I really appreciate the usage of ME3’s ost at the end of the video
I love me some mass effect music at 8:10
The raging wolf is 100% my favorite armor set. Decent enough stats, and looks cool asf.
your videos have really great editing and flow. Great job.
Banger content m8
Talks about his blade when he's using a hammer.
The castlevania sotn music 🔥
Vargram wanted to become the shadow of the gloam eyed queen but every shadow must be created by the tow fingers like Malekith and Blaid so that was illegal , that is why he was imprisoned in the roundtable hold with Welhelm and Alberich
On a side note people should look into the gloam eyed queen it is really interesting and many think she is your maiden(can’t think of her name) especially after the frenzied flame ending there are videos over the topic
As soon as this video started and mentioned wolves, I thought of Melina not having a known shadow beast hehe
1:34 where was this scene cut from?
Crazy how weapons like marika's hammer, the godslayer greatsword, the black knife, and maliketh's black blade aren't legendary armaments. They are some of the most important items in the entirety of elden ring's lore
I want to make myself believe that whenever fromsoftware make an NPC they try to make it good. and whenever they get tired of that character they'll toss it to the player to kill kind of like that "im done playing with you anymore" meme lol
I want to know more about Vargram and Vyke's finger maiden.
The wolf of all time
An alternative option for the GEQ's lack of a Shadowbound beast could be that she was Marika.
(or one could argue Malenia is Miquella's shadowbound)
My starting class in the test version! Vargram was just a fan-boy, like the player-character lol
