I recently installed this damper on my Gladiator Mojave version. It made a slightly noticable difference. The bolt and nut AEV sends with this damper has a loose fit in the square top part of the mount. If you have a pre 21 and a half model year truck your bolt is probably correct. If not, do yourself a favor and get the pre 21 bolt and lock nut for this setup. It made a noticable difference in the feel on my rig.
Glad to see you hitting that German torque spec of Gütentite. I wouldn't expect any difference as its meant to dampen any road bumps etc from reaching the steering wheel. I would expect if you had something from the road "push" against the wheels like a tar snake, pothole, etc before it would take X amount of force to cause the wheels to turn and now it takes Y to cause the wheels to turn.
I hate a torque wrench... somewhere. 😉 Thanks for the feedback. I'm interested to see how it feels the next time I find some rocks, or the spring pothole season in Nebraska.
I have the Bilstein unit. Not sure if AEV has their own specs for valving, but Bilstein makes theirs. Mine makes the steering heavier. Meaning it doesn't return to center as quickly as with the stock unit.
I installed it on my 2022 JLR and it is awesome for me. 2.5” lift and 35’s on my Jeep for reference.

Sounds like I need to go looking for some rougher terrain.
Any update on this damper? Does it cut down or eliminate bump-steer? Any other observations?
How has it handled since then?
What is your wheel and tire set up?
Fifteen 52 Analog HD wheels and 37" Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP tires
Liked and subbed. Any feedback after using it for a while?
I never did really notice a difference, but it's mostly on-road action here in Nebraska.
@@LowlanderNate thanks for the reply. At the end of the day, if someone looked under your Jeep they would at least see the AEV sticker on it LOL 😂
