    Lots of brain power to use for this exercise! My mother in law loves things like this to keep her 87 year old mind active, hands nimble, and her handwriting is still gorgeous! She actually taught my children cursive because they took it out of the elementary curriculum here.

      Yes! Lots of brain power -- but I love a meditative challenge like this. Kudos to your mother-in-law for staying sharp and keeping on creating! It sounds like your kids are lucky to have her as a grandma. ☺️

    Thank you Lindsey sooo much for all your help with all your tutorials,videos, tips,advice and the teachings of so many calligraphy things. My letters are still shaky and the spaces are going on the better side by the drills. Sometimes I should leave the dishes and care little about housework…that never ends 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have advanced but still much to learn! Thank you ☺️ much

    This is a wonderful drill. I'm anxious to try this...after Christmas. Lindsey, I seems that when you dip your pen, it's mostly the tip. When I dip, its up to the little vent hole so I can write a little longer, or is it necessary. I started rinsing my nib in water as you recommended...really helps.

    Wouldn't this build incorrect muscle memory and we'll all we running around having these huge spaces between our letters? I agree tho that spacing is one of my biggest challenges minus a few problem letters/combo's that I often screw up. Got anything on connecting different letters together?

    • @LindseyBugbeeTPK
      @LindseyBugbeeTPK  Год назад

      That's a good question! In my experience, spacing cross drills don't build incorrect muscle memory -- they train your eye to judge spaces between characters and work toward making them consistent. :) As far as connecting different letters together, the best I've got are worksheets with word practice. The more words you write, the more you'll be able to achieve nice spacing between the characters, for sure! thepostmansknock.com/product-category/learn-calligraphy/calligraphy-worksheets/
