the last tip is key. im still working towards my fitness and health goals but historically i have been a pretty unmotivated and undisciplined person. i was not able to create good diet and fitness habits until i completely divorced the process from the desired outcomes. i think the reason its so hard to lose weight is because we see diet and exercise as this unpleasant sacrifice we have to make. as long as we feel that way, we will never stick with it. we have to completely change our mindset to viewing these things as the beneficial and life-changing habits they are. I still hate working out honestly lol, but I love being a person who works out
The part where you said to not look at weight loss as the product, but rather a byproduct of the work being done, really spoke to me. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. If i only lose one or even zero for the week, i view it as an opportunity to look at where i can improve. The journey is a long and sometimes rough one of losing weight. Its discipline. It's habit changing/forming. It's learning. Its acceptance and denials. Its not all about the food we eat, rather it is more about the decisions we've made about our bodies and lifestyles that speak louder than the results of a bmi or bodyscan. We are the results of our own decisions.
What honestly makes the most difference is how generally active you are on a daily basis. I mean, lifting and formal cardio are great. But the main problem is that even people who workout are sedentary most of the day. They're even being sedentary at the gym sitting and scrolling between sets. 😆 I'd tell people to walk daily, climb stairs at a moderate pace daily, stand more, park further away, run errands on foot if possible, etc.. It's all of this non formal exercise movement that adds up. 💯
Starting to track calories and protein for the first time around four years ago definitely was eye opening. Together with walking, tracking lifts and strength I'm now in the best shape of my life at 36 🔥😊💪 Less running than in my youngest days for sure 👌🏃
I love your video's...just started watching them.. this video you said you wanted to hit 100k subs..and I looked and your at 134k subs.. I still subscribed because your a cool dude.. thank you
Excellent video, sir. Totally understand the mental health thing. It's what's kept me going to the gym. Now I just happen to look a whole lot better. Thank you for sharing that part. It often goes unnoticed.
Thank you Dan. The past two weeks I’ve been starting my day with water and hydration packs. I’ve also started having water before and after meals. Talk about less brain fog and more fullness. H20 = massive cheat code Appreciate the message Dan. I needed it.
I do running and weight lifting and I eat way more than I usually do just so I can sustain my muscle and energy levels. I love your instagram, great to see you here too
Although running fun But i find walking & swimming better alternative Me & my bff started trend since 18 she thought of and proud to say at 34 we are still doing it with our own families now Look at junk food as drugs or alcohol. No benefits to it and best not get addicted
I live in the mountains and have been doing 12-17k steps a day. I have some 5 lb weights and just ordered a kettle ball. Will I be able to get a good enough strength training at home? I'm nowhere near a gym.
Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park..Ive lost 110 lbs but 25 more to go .. Great job and im a new sub! I do Vlogs Daily if you'd like to say hi
Cardio is excellent and everyone should do it for heart health. I also agree that “flexible dieting” or the “if it fits your macros” is childish. Good video bro but a bit long winded in certain areas
Can you please explainthe process of how you go about getting a Dexa Scan that isn’t just used to measure bone mass? Do you need a script from a doctor? Do you ask for the report to include the info about lean mass etc.? Is this something that must be a private pay/not covered by insurance? Thank you. Great video! Appreciate your knowledge.
Tracking food intake is not only pointless, its not going to work long term. Our ancestors were not fat, and they never tracked their food intake. Explain that if you can. I can.
They were very active/hardworking and ate less processed foods and not large portions of them either. Nowadays things are different. Just cuz our ancestors didn’t do it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work today.
@@nelsonrivera8301 But that is not the real reason. They didn't eat processed foods loaded with fructose, which is nature's weight gaining nutrient, or vegetable oils. Those foods cause obesity.
Mostly sugars. American food has so much of it, it is dangerous and could probably pull water out of your tongue by osmosis. That is probably why the Mediterranean or maybe paleolithic diet is usually recommended

“The more you obsess about outcomes the more you invite anxiety into your life” love that
Thank you. Control the controllable as they say.
Bro you are more informative than many people with millions of subs.
Thank you 🙏🏼

Right on. That's the most important part of the video.
very underrated channel ! thx for your precious advices !
That last lesson learned about how to turn the perspective around is really the key to overcoming addictions. Great video!
Thoughtful, clear, concise. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Thank you

Great answer.
Yep, getting up throughout the day is a game changer physically and Mentally. Great tips.
yup, doing the 10k steps a day no matter what makes such a big difference. Getting off the sofa kicks your bad habits
Great content! Love it

Right on my friend
Been following your ig and newsletter for the past few weeks.
Love your stuff. Definitely earned my sub!
Awesome. Welcome to the team!
Love your videos Dan, thank you so much !!
Glad you like them!
10,000 steps + calorie deficit + intermittent fasting work really well for me. I lost 12 lbs within 4 months.
So much quality, respect from Italy 🇮🇹
Glad it helped!
This video is gold.
On point! I can totally relate to Number 3! ❤
So glad!

Appreciate the message Dan. I needed it.
Great job implementing this. Such a legit cheat code.
Best channel on RUclips. For sure

Welcome to the RUclips team!
Great content ❤ Subed!
Really enjoying your content! Have subscribed 😊
Thank you and welcome!
I like your straight forward, no BS approach but bro, you need to get a desk mic. A cheap Blue Yeti is $100 and a decent Shure is $250-300
thank you!!!
What about for women?
1. Count calories (deficit)? Healthy choices
2. Weight train
3. Proteins on weight you want to be....
I appreciate the messages in this video
Just came across your channel. New subscriber here! ❤🎉
Welcome to the team!
Great video. I'm not sure I'm sold on the idea of someone being significantly overweight, increasing cardio, but losing muscle instead of fat.
Done excessively with a caloric deficit it happens. Look at what happens to people who take Ozempic.
@danfounder thanks for responding. Most rules go out the window when we introduce medication and steroids.
@@isaiahsmith8523 Too true
i would not recommend eye balling food EVER especially if you want to maintain the weight loss.
I second this.

@@danfounder love your channel straight to the point, well presented and factual
I find 3 healthy balance meals & no snacks btw meals is also good strategy
No need to snack
Love to see it

Yes. Search for callisthenics workouts on RUclips. Great way to get workouts with limited equipment.

Do you need a script from a doctor?
Do you ask for the report to include the info about lean mass etc.?
Is this something that must be a private pay/not covered by insurance?
Thank you. Great video! Appreciate your knowledge.
Most places in North America you don’t need a script. Just search on google your local city and DEXA scan and you should find some places.
I can totally lose weight by moving more and eating less. What people get wrong is that is takes time and consistency. I would aim 1-2kg per month.
“I cant sleep!”
“Just close your eyes lol”
Hi Dan 😊 i reckon you'll hit 100k subs. 😊
Fingers crossed!
Lowering cortisol is hard
Judging by the thumbnail, I see my problem: friends

You don't mention anything about Intermittent Fasting?? Such a powerful and effective tool.
I feel like it’s not sustainable. But I’m glad it works for most
Aww man I love being vegan lol ! Counting zero calories! And still gaining muscle and losing weight ❤️
