The Staffordshire Bull is THE finest dog breed bar none. Highly intelligent, great emotional intelligence- they can always judge your mood accurately. Fiercely loyal and loving, utterly fearless and courageous. Always ready to play a game- terrific energy and a great sense of fun. Superb with children- far more tolerant than many breeds. Staffies are strong characters, they bond very closely to their owners- you never own them, that's because THEY OWN YOU! An intelligent Staffy will soon have its' human owners well trained! :)
I recently lost sophie my staffie she was my fur baby. Unfortunately she fell to bone cancer with secondrys in the lungs. By the time she showed pain from it we litterally had a week left with her. Staffies pain threshold is so high its something major when they show pain.
They also like to talk a lot.. I know mine does.. she's 9 and acts like she's a happy 6 month old pup, also thinks she weighs the same when trying to sit on my knee 🤣
Lost my best buddy back in Feb, he was just short of 15. Still have the odd weep from time to time, but the memories are the treasure I have from the times we spent together. We were joined at the hip and if I left the room he'd be looking for me. Brilliant breed 😀
I was devastated when I lost my girl (Tara) she was by far the most loyal amazing companion ever, she died in my arms 16 years ago and to this day I still cry when I think about the day I lost her, this Friday I am going looking at another staffy pup (I've already decided he is a George) it has took me this long to get over the loss of Tara and whilst I could never replace her it is finally time to move on and meet my new best friend, best breed of dog ever, R.I.P. Tara and welcome to my world George, love you both
Mine went in May last year so I really do feel for you.16 yrs . I thought May be we would go paw in hand together. But that wasn’t meant. The only time we were ever apart. Best dog ever and in over 60 years there have been a few.
My staffy loves everyone, dogs, people and even our three cats! She adores children. On our walk up Scafell Pike yesterday she was snarled at by 3 or 4 dogs and didn't react once. I wouldn't have any other breed now. As with any dog, good training is essential. They're bad reputation stems from bad owners who have them because they 'look tough.'
Ours is like this too. She's been lunged and snarled at and just slinks away. She loves cats, birds, other dogs and people. Great temperament but people are still very afraid of her :(
I do canicross with mine too. Not competitively but, with a relaxed group. We run 5 to 10k with stops along the way. We don't run in summer because its too hot. I highly recommend it, once dogs are over 1 year old.
After 13 years of living with a Staffie, I can easily say the are an awesome breed. The bad rep is absolutely undeserved (the fault for a "bad" dog is always on the other end of the leash). Energizer bunny outside, couch potatoe and snoring snugglebug inside. Knowing a Staffie is loving a Staffie, they steal hears left and right.
People are the problem. Point blank. We can't even admit that it's always how you train and treat a dog that determines if it will be dangerous or not.
I have a 6month old staffy and he's the most gentle and funny dog ever, walking him is an adventure he insists on saying hello to every single person that passes by 😅
I just lost my staffy Ruby. She was 16 years old and we had so many great memories and was the most loyal and loving dog. I really miss her so much and I am looking for a staffy to adopt so fast to fill in the gap. Thank you for sharing
Me and my ex partner had our staffy ruby she was a runt and I went to a house the guy had her in a empty water barrel making her run to build her up ☹️☹️☹️ I had to take her home after a heated argument I paid money to that idiot and was best thing I ever did !!!Katy fell in love straight away best dog in the world heartbroken when she passed away never seen a dog give so much love .... I hope your new one comes soon 🙏
Lost my Ridgeback in April. A month later, my wife and kids adopted two Staffy puppies. They are so affectionate, happy, and those full body wags are one of life's gifts. I miss my Ridgeback, but these two are pure love.
All I can say is the Staffordshire bull terrier is the sweetest, loving and loyal dog I've known. They are so gentle with children hence they are known as the nanny dog. The kennel club recommend as a family dog.
I was having my garden done and the landscapers had 2 staffies & the builder had a giant Leonburger. and I fell head over heels in love with all them. They ended up becoming BFFs with my little fluffy dogs and romping round the house and garden together. They were a strange looking pack 😂
They are so intuitive .... I have seen one seek out a sad young lady in a wheel chair for a pat. Just to try and cheer her up. I had a tear in my eye ! The young lass beamed afterward, so cute.
Staffys are the best dog in my opinion, we lost her lost year unexpectedly she was loving friendly dog and was so good around the children. If you have the time and don’t work all day I would definitely recommend a staff. We think about her every day RIP BEAU ❤️
I lost my rescue baby girl 3 weeks who I rescued from dogs trust here in Dublin.. man I only had her for 3 years ago but hands down its affected me more than when my mam passed..they are a one of a kind dog ❤
I miss my lovely staff she was so special and 100% a family dog would be the first to the door to see who it is and yet so gentle with my baby boy and i had no worries about my family if i had to work away as she was the protecting force of the home i miss her so much i love you stella and you are always in our hearts ❤
I met a staffy named Percy and he literally is the sweetest boy ever he literally makes everyone so happy with his goofy, loving personality. I’m getting a pittie/staffy as my first dog because of how unwanted they are.
The best pet and friend of the family we have ever had, not an ounce of aggression to humans in her she loves other dogs if they love or are not aggressive to her. An absolute pleasure to own and care for they give twice as much back if you love and care for them in return.
I adopted a Steffie from a shelter 6 months ago. I got a discount because they said it was almost impossible to re-home her. But she is the sweetest , best listening, quick learning dog I have ever had( she is my seventh ). And she is the best in cuddling and giving kisses when you need them. Only lesser thing is that she sometimes tends to bite visitors in the butt. We don’t know why she does it, she is not aggressive at all and loves people. She also doesn’t have fear of abandonment. But she is already 9 years old and we will probably never find out what has happened to her that she does this so I just keep her close to me when we have visitors and then there is no problem. I just love Staffords and esp mine!! ❤️😍
Staffies are homeless, why.... but they are such clean dogs, with almost no shedding, they learn all things so quickly, and they love to please all people and I mean all of them, they are gentle tanks. Their own human is their VIP, they love their family to the moon and back. My staffy boy was so understanding with me. We have been active daily since he was two months old and came home. After about a year of active life, I suddenly had to have surgery and wasn't able to walk and train him while recovering from it. He had no problem spending time at home with me, he didn't start destroying things. Then my dad died, and my dog helped me through it, by just being by my side and kissing the sadness away. They are full of energy, baravery life force, intelligence, understanding, fun, happiness, and love.
4 years ago I found a tiny pup ony front porch. I asked around the neighborhood if anyone was missing a pup. I put up lost pup signs as well as called both animal shelter and police dept. I was told if no one claimed him after 3 days, then I could keep him. I thought he might be a type of mixed bulldog, but when I saw what a staffordshire looked like and their traits, I just assumed that is what he is. I have always been a dog lover and have owned a variety of dogs from mixed to full-blooded chow, German police, black and tan coon, cocker spaniel and chihuahua but none of these has filled my heart like he has. He is sensitive to me when I cry, licking my tears and is very vocal, and outshines every other dog I have owned. I have named this handsome guy. Rock.
I adopted a little dark brindle Staffie 13months ago . In one year she is off the lead everywhere except busy traffic areas , she's good with all dogs , all people , on all public transport , she waits , stays , keeps in , leaves it , doesn't chase cats and ignores all other livestock , she sleeps all night until around 9. 30 am , doesn't run off if I let her out at night for a pee . She's so grateful to have been rescued , she warms my heart everyday . I don't know how old she is , I think 10 or 11 going by the lumps and bumps , but she goes all day , non stop if I let her . She is absolutely hilarious , sweet natured and kind hearted . She was Layla , now Hoola'hoop . I LOVE her dearly . Please consider rescuing a Staffie , she was on death row cos of her bad write-up , now EVERYONE loves her and she has a wonderful life pleasing everyone she meets .
@@lennyjennings8748 Thanku , she's still thriving and improving week upon week . One outstanding malfunction is , she has a passion for travel , and has , on at least a dozen occasions , bounced swiftly and determinedly into ANY vehicle that has open doors . The more people in the car etc. the happier she is to join them , usually with hilarious results . She's not easy to get out either . We were at a busy bus station yesterday and she was sooo excited about all the buses filling up and leaving her behind , I had to walk to the first single stop en route home in order to stop her worrying . She is generally hilarious . She makes everyone laugh within a moment of meeting her .
We have just adopted a 6 year old Staffie from a shelter. He is the sweetest, nicest dog I have met. Energetic to a fault. I am looking forward to reading the guide you offer. As a 70 year old man he can be a nightmare to walk. However I will not give in!!
Here in the U.S. I was delighted to meet a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I said to it's owner that he really likes me. He concurred ( but said his Staffy often makes people feel that way )
My bro has a staffy. I have been few times as a dogsitter and he sure is a great company. I cant understand why some ppl are scared of this breed, he is one of the kindest dogs i have ever met. And a true gentleman too with the english roots. He let ladies (a cat) eat first and when the lady is done with the dining, its his turn. I cant remember seen any other dog act like this before. Cheers from Finland!
I'm on my third Staffy. Wouldn't have any other breed of dog. So loyal and friendly and so eager to please! My first died very young and unexpectedly, my second, lived a long and happy life and my third is coming up nine. She is amazing and such a kind soul! I wish everyone could see how lovely these animals are and how much they give of themselves to their humans
Great video for a lovely dog breed. They were actually bread near Dudley between Cradley Heath, Netherton and Rowley Regis (The Blackcountry). This area was historically part of Staffordshire, but since boundary changes is now West Midlands and is nowhere near Stafford.
My daughters Staffordshire is 2 years old, her dog's name is Gage, Gage is my little girl's registered "service animal/ Companion Animal," my little girl Terry is 12 years old and has had two heart surgeries in the last 18 months, and has one more surgery to go, anyhow we spent yesterday August 6th at the Clark County Fair in the state of Washington, It was very fun and peaceful, I was amazed to see the Lambs that were caged as exhibits would come over to the corner of their cage and muzzle up against my staffordshire's muzzle as if they were kissing! these Lambs and my Staffordshire were so gentle and friendly toward each other! this happened time after time regardless which cage of lambs we visited! Gage is a 2 year old male he is very lovable and adorable, of course I had him on a leash or actually secured with a thick soft cotton rope! we walked around the fair and countless children wanted to pet him, and they as well as adults we're constantly drawn to him! In each case I would introduce gage to them by name, and then I would kneel down and we would talk to the dog and I would talk to the child and we would pet Gage! Gage is very gentle and loving toward kids and adults as well! he's a very loving dog! I did not see one other person with a dog at the Clark County Fair which I thought was strange! Gage gets along good with people and other dogs as well! Gages is by Nature a very gentle creature along with being very interested and curious toward other animals and people! He is a brindle with a very large head and very muscular, I suppose he might weigh 50 or 60 pounds, I've not weighed him, and he is so sweet and gentle! He's a wonderful member and part of our family!
We have had staffies all our lives and now have a new puppy 8 months old and we have never had any issues with aggression or violence from any of them. They do love destroying toys when younger but other than that they are the most loving and appreciative animal I’ve ever come across. Long live the English Staffordshire ! 🥰🥰🥰🥰👊👍💪👌
I adopted my first Staffy last year when I lost my last Bearded Collie, my heart dog. Tinker is 11 years old and a lovely lady. She shares my bed ( the largest share) sleeps by my chair, I can't walk much, is a wonderful alert barker for any rogue thunderstorm or stranger that dares come up the drive. She still has nightmares, sleeps with my old complaining cat, and I love her.
My friends Staffy likes to bring you his toy and then he'll do a growl (Similar to the Rottie Rumble) to get your attention. Once you touch his toy and recognize him he'll happily saunter off with toy. He just wanted to show off his toy. In some ways these dogs remind me of Rotties in a small package. My Rottweiler passed away last fall and I'm torn between another Rottie or making the move to the Staffy. As I get older I can see the advantages of having a smaller dog. I have to say though, my Hanna was the most loving and loyal dog I've ever had and that's a tough standard to live up to.
I would wholeheartedly recommend getting a SBT when you're ready to get another dog. They're a big dog in a small package. If you're not sure you could always try fostering a SBT through a rescue.
I’ve had Staffys and love them but I went for a pair of German shepherds this time, check a GSD out, the working line, u won’t regret, i will go back to staffs when these 2 are gone. Can’t go wrong with them either
@@ianmcdonald3053 I had GSD's when I was younger, they're great dogs for sure but not really my preferred choice these days. I think they excel at protection work over the Rottweiler even though both are quite capable but I've found the Rottie to be a better fit for me when it comes to the companionship side of it. Depending on what happens when I downsize the GSD/Rottie might be a bit much, that's why I'm looking at the Staffy.
@@kirkbrooks9447 I hear ya, I’ve had shepherds collies and staffys all my days, I found if I put the time on my staffy was easier trained than the rest, hyper as pups but if u lay the law down young you really can’t ask for better, super smart, love going anywhere and everywhere, mine never demanded anything but some play time. The shepherds are hard work, I’m 48 and I want to have some now while I’m still able, they drag me round the place 🤣 real smart, my male is a working line from hungry, I swear he can read my mind, if I leave him at home I get such a bollocking off him when I get back 🤣wee female is a west German showline, she’s like him only turned down a few notches, both demanding as their young. I doubt I’ll own a collie again cuz they just need a bit more than the rest but I’m hoping to spend my 60’s with a beautiful staffy. Maybe a nice red one. I can’t speak highly enough of them, my daughter had them round her from the age of 2 and they adored her, when she was in the house the dogs were with her 24:7. I’d 2 males, one would police our street the other would go into the 1st home he could find with the door open 🤣 I was lucky if very hood neighbours at the time and they loved him, they’d jump up and cuddle in to watch the telly with them 🤣 u can’t go wrong with them. I was surprised just how intelligent they were, they just want to please you. The Males love to cuddle just as much as the females I found the males easier to work with. I hope you find the dog of your dreams and if you do if it’s half as good as what I experienced you will never look back. You can always tell a good staffy owner, they can’t tell you enough how great the are 🤣
It's a terrible shame that so many lovely staffies are in shelters, they are superb dogs 🐕, once given the proper early socialisation and training and i know this due to owning an amstaff. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Doubt u find purebred Staffies abandoned, what u find are mixes , backyard bred pitb. Different temprement between Staffy, AmStaff My Staffy is from Ruffian line of Old Eng Irish Staffies, th agresion has been bred out AmStaff...were from original Eng Pit fighting dogs, & old Eng. Irish Staffies., then became APBT, then 1936, AKC registered them as AmStaff There is no pitbull in a purebred Staffy, bull & terrier
@Carl there are far less pur Staffies, compared to the pit mixes, of everything .. even a doodled pit.. called pitdoodle, ridiculous !! There are reputable breeders,.. but it's the back yd. breeders, .. want th xxxl. low & wide, over muscled,.. & then are the pocket , & micro, can hardly walk, breathe . Its all for. "The money" to be got.
@Carl oh yes In the good ole USA, Florida.. In the Miami- Dade County, & some others, ..ALL pit "type" are banned. can't own, bred, sell.. bc of the population explosion, in 80s, everyone wanted pits, & breeding of APBT with Mastiff types, what rappers, drug dealers wanted., big & mean, that what got them banned, the mixed mutts. & shelters we r so full, ... started calling them Pibbles, adopted them out, adults, unpredictable, & attacked owners. Also, what show breeders have done to G. Shep. Bulldog. Peke. Pug. ...is awful. way too pushed in, short muzzled Whatever is trendy, is poorly, over bred. The cane corsos, is new rage I love my little 25 lb. Staffy girl,.. just right size, .not overly muscled. & sweet face, not the "piggy" look of some Staffs ..
@Carl the American Bully , UK recognized 2013, tho bred from APBT & AmStaff/ Staffy, is allowed in UK, but not APBT, that's why they will be mass produced, unfortunately
My new rescue is a staffordshire Boston terrier mix. She is so smart! She has learned to ring jingle bells that hang on the back door to alert me when she needs to potty. She also gets in her crate willingly when it’s bed time. All this after only being rescued for 2 weeks!
I have a staffy x rottweiler and he is the soppiest oaf there is. Adores and protects children yet terrified of chihuahuas. The worst guard dog as loves everyone he meets. Walks everywhere off-lead and loves the pub. Definitely man's best friend.
American Staffs, while larger and harder to handle, are also extremely amazing with small animals and strangers if you socialize them early. The most amazing breed.
I've always found Forthglade wet food with a good quality kibble (50%-50% mix) to be a good way to go. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong but my dogs have all got on with it. I'd stay away from most tinned dog food. Especially Pedigree and the like. It's mostly cereal with less that 10% meet. Butchers seems to be one of the best tinned food. Good luck with your new dog.
I had a Staffordshire for 13 years when we went to the shelter he had only been there for one day he was the quietest and calm dog I instantly knew that he would be ours as he came up to the dor Sat down as I looked into his eyes and I said to my mum he was the one for us it was hard at first and he did snap at my mum one time at home but that's when the shelter told us about what his original owner did to him but only 2 weeks later he changed became the most joy full and loving dog ever would never pull on his lead and on his walk days would bring his lead to me or my mum would see mee onto my school bus and be there when I got off outside my house miss you bud ❤❤
I have a staffy and pitbull mix named Koda, i never heard of the staffy breed until i adopted him. I did some research and saw the differences in him that looked very much staffy. He is literally the sweetest most cuddly dog. He will lay right on you and give you kisses until he falls asleep. He never is aggressive to anything he even tries to play with my cat who could care less about him. He even understands who he can really play tug of war with too. When my significant other tries to play then koda will use all his strength. But if my daughter tried playing, he'd barely pull and jump around. I always had a huge heart for pitbulls but now seeing the staffy they are just as wonderful.
At last the correct explaination of the staffy character with people and children. Yes it is due to the fact they were fighting dogs that were not allowed to have people aggression.
The old Staffy, are not what was shown here, there were AAmstaffs, bullies, & mixes1 Back in the day, fighting dogs, had to be dog agressive, & ppl friendly, & were fine family pets . It was in the 80s, when back yard breeders, mixed mastiffs, & other large breeds, over bred un balanced, mean , what th rappers& drug dealers wanted ,.. is what u got today
@@Memow-pk1ng you can still get staffs that are not mixed the breed and lines of pedigree staffs go back to 1930’s I don’t think any gangster rappers were around then
My staffy LOVES the neighbors cats. They hug her and rub on her and her staffy tail wags so hard it hits both sides of her body. She is my first staffy and I feel like I have missed out on a lot. Silliest funny girl I ever had.
My sister had a white Staffy with some black in her here and there. She was the most beautiful, sweet, gentle, happy little girl you could ever meet. My sister never went anywhere without her. She lived to be 18 years old. It was such a sad day in our family when she passed. My sister was grief stricken for months. That was a few years ago now and her ashes are in a beautiful box in my sister's living room. RIP Kasey. You were truly loved by us all.
Oh seeing that old Staffy on the sofa under that Girls leg...reminded me of mine, 15 and half years of friendship I feel grateful to have enjoyed. Oh they smile and sing along with you.
#1 was so interesting! I always thought dogs will be dogs and felt it would be unreasonable to think that 2 dogs may not get into with eachother. It can happen. People have been surprised at how I break up two dogs that get into it. I've always just jumped in and never thought anything of it. My staffy has never even biten me on accident when breaking something up. I never put much thought into why others have described me as being fearless when breaking up dogs. I guess I never thought about it. It likely because of my personal experiences with staffys that makes it so that the thought of them biting me has never crossed my mind. Thinking of it now, I would be shocked if I was ever biten. Thats very interesting to me. If she finds a chicken bone, i can take them out of her mouth and thinking nothing of it but I wouldn't allow another dog to try to do the same thing with her. That's amazing. They are truly a bread of their own. After having one, I will always have a staffy.
@Carl ... My daughter says when she walks our dogs.. Rowan does what he does with her... Standing up on two legs, barking or making his sounds... Never with me... I say mind your business and he run on trying to get a peek in at the other dog??? Our female put mix is the real Mama that dares the other dog to make an attempt at whatever to let it know whatever... LOLLLL!!! Rowan just stands and waits for me to say what I say... He is a very good guard dog... Barking if someone comes in the yard or to the door... Good strong barking... Sniffing when he picks up scents of strangers... He is very mannerable, stays close to me when walked, intelligent, I obedient, very observant...
We have a 10 week old Staffy and my wife if struggling a bit because he is a wee biter.. really hope this gets better as i love the wee man even though he is hard work..🐕❤️
PETA certainly doesn't have a clue about the temperment and nature of the Staffordshire bull terrier you won't find a better family dog breed than this breed they are simply the best 🐾💙🐾❤️
I have a staffing & she's been the sweetest do I've ever had. I've adopted 2 littles after her & she's great with them. I've fostered big & little dogs & she's been great with them as well. She's good with people, never threatening, but definitely a momma's girl. People who have never had one or met one should meet some if considering adoption. They won't be sorry!!!
I would really like to adopt a staffy. But unfortunately i lack time and they are even "illegal" or atleast very high regulated in most states in germany.
It's unfortunate that Staffies face such restrictions in many places. Perhaps in the future, circumstances will change, and you'll have the opportunity to welcome a Staffy into your life.
I inherited a Staffy which has become the greatest dog I’ve ever had. We used to have two standard poodles, and a gsp, none of which were as sweet, intelligent, and reliable as Dubs the Staffy. It’s hilarious to me that people walk well around us at the park, because she’s even gentle with our cat, and her favorite thing to do is cuddle under a blanket. Best breed ever.
OMG ... my lovely puppy Becky staffy (7months now) is just such a lovely and nice and energetic love spreader.... you can not pass her without feeling loved afterwards. She loves dog, people, cats birds .... only thing is that she doesnt know that she might be scary for some... :D so i try to ease her energy... She loves running, and she goes running with me on 5-10 km runs.... and when i put on the running clothes she goes completely mad wagging her tail. She is the perfect dog for me, and during working day, she gets some really good naps (i work from home) The bread is a talker bread ... she grunts all the time :D oink oink, which is both funny and wierd, but she is always in a happy mood.... a VERY friendly dog.
I have a staffy …. Wasn’t my first choice but the more I read up on the breed the more I wanted one ………. And I’m so pleased to say they are the most loyal dog he’s very good with other dogs doesn’t bother him if they bark … great with people as well and always looking for hugs who ever that maybe and they are a really intelligent knows quite a few tricks… now can I also point out this is my first dog I’m 59 and he’s been the best thing ever to come into my life he loves me lots but hey I love him just the same back
I visited the Irish countryside and a hotel I stayed at had a Staffi. He ran all around the property, inside and out. No problem. Bruce was sweet and when you gave him attention, he would roll on his back and want a rub. He would follow me around the property in the morning when I took pictures. I really liked him and miss him. I can't imagine the trouble the owners would have in Germany. Moms here would freak out seeing a Staffi running near their children. Not so in Ireland.
My staffy Oreo was returned twice at the shelter before he rescued me. He was out of control and bullying my wife. After 1 month she wanted to return him. They told at the shelter that if we brought him back they will have to put him down. So I chose not to give up on him. With patience, assertion time and lots of you tube video he is now the best family pet.
I’ve rescue Staffy in Poland. In Uk Staffy its popular breed but in Poland is very rare. There is fb group where ppl looking to rehome staffy in Poland and some ppl waiting a long time.
My SBT is amazing. Best dog breed ever and Ive had a Beauceron, American Bulldog, Lab, Bouvier, and Doberman. They are perfect IMO. People scared of them are just ignorant. Love them!!
Something I have noticed since having mine is people get a staffy and think they are sofa dogs don't never take them out and wonder why their bouncing off the ceiling
my parents got two English staffies for me to you know, not get bored when I was born,I grew up with the two dogs and still with one of them, sadly we had to put down the other one last year,I can confirm that staffies are probably the best dogs
I have a staffy named Ziggy. He will be 14 in June. I’ve had a wonderful life with him. I worked from home his entire life. We hiked about 1k miles a year for about 10 years of his life. He’s been through so much with me. Marriage, children, moves. They are a gentle breed but I’ll say this, if any dog tried to become between him and I playing fetch he would be a totally nut. No mercy with his dominance to show a dog that it’s just him and i playing. Ring a dogs neck or pinch the crap out of the rib area. Another scenario would be a dog trying to dominate him after he showed he was cool by rolling on his back. If this happened he would become real stiff in appearance and his ears would be straight up with just the tips a little loose. That meant he was about to become violent. Usually it would start by him standing on the shoulders of the other dog with his front paws. If I saw this I would do my best to run over and remove him from the situation. Besides that a total mutant love bug. I can’t imagine my life without him. I wish it was longer or somehow magically he would be with me until my last breath.
Staffys are incredible dogs, I adopted 1 from our local shelter, and I also adopted a pitty, from a rescue. Both are great. Sadly both nreeds are banned in many provinces in Canada. People totally misjudge them
If anybody knows of any aggressive dog that is unfortunate, However the gobshite holding there lead is probably responsible for the learned behaviour the dog has developed
I have owned many different breeds of dogs in my life, but I can honestly say that my 17mon old blue pit girl is the most loving loyal dog I have ever owned. I don't even say that she is a pit bull because she Has never seen a pit, I just say she is my baby bull dog!
Never known as the Nanny Dog in the breeds entire documented history which goes back to the 1820s . It was made up nonsense in the 1970s by breeders to sell dogs to gullible fools like you ….
I lucked out. I live in NJ. Adopted what I thought was a pit bull. But after months of research, found out she is a staffy, not a am staff. She can be a handful but a great dog overall
I own and breed these dogs(english/American staffies),if you're looking for a life long loyal partner, this dog is perfect for you. These dogs are also perfect for a family with small kids or babies. As a guard dog forget about them attacking humans anything else best be aware!!
My staffy is keeping me alive it's a little past 3 am in Australia I wake up in a bad way and he's always there on my bed or very close by he is my family he eats nothing I wouldn't eat and he eats most of my food also and I love it , the most beautiful pooches in my opinion I wouldn't be here without him.. Buddha age 7. Love your staff people.👍🇭🇲
We went to a dog shelter that let’s you walk dogs as volunteer work. They brought out a black staffy named Troy. Told me to be careful, and yet she was the goodest, sweetest girl i’ve met. Wanna go adopt her so bad
Every single aggressive staffy I've seen have always had a complete nobhead on the other end of the lead
100% True. Usually some nasty little sweat in a black tracksuit who uses the dog as an extension of his machismo.
Yup 💯
Every single staffy U’ve seen had a complete nobhead on the other end of the leash. You’re no different
Nobheads always say you need a strong hand around stufies. Which in they frail minds means 'shout laud, sound scary'. Poor dog is constantly bullied
Well cheers
The Staffordshire Bull is THE finest dog breed bar none. Highly intelligent, great emotional intelligence- they can always judge your mood accurately. Fiercely loyal and loving, utterly fearless and courageous. Always ready to play a game- terrific energy and a great sense of fun. Superb with children- far more tolerant than many breeds. Staffies are strong characters, they bond very closely to their owners- you never own them, that's because THEY OWN YOU! An intelligent Staffy will soon have its' human owners well trained! :)
yesss bro had one for 16 years, gotta be the best years of my life!
They do train their owners, and don't fall for your sweet talking to them. They have to have their way. You have to be more stubborn than them.
My Cairn terrier was best but Staffy close 2nd !!
I agree, best dog ever just hurts so much when they leave us, it'll be 2 years this May, still think of my Jesse every day😢
@@6lr6ak6 Lost my staffie in november to liver cancer, 14 years old also best 14 years of my life.
hands down the best dog ive ever had.
They are Friendly, bouncy, clingy and gentle. People are ignorant.
You have summed up their character traits perfectly. I would add loving and goofy.
@@cheeky1187 She will act like a pup untill she is old and gray. The number one loving hyperactive knucklehead dogs.
@@cheeky1187 Yes they certainly love to sit on your lap and think they are a light little lapdog
Lost my best buddy back in Feb, he was just short of 15. Still have the odd weep from time to time, but the memories are the treasure I have from the times we spent together. We were joined at the hip and if I left the room he'd be looking for me. Brilliant breed 😀
My 13yo boy passed a month ago. I was a mess.
Great temperament but people are still very afraid of her :(
I can't wait to take our Staffie hiking, she's nearly 11 months now so not long to wait. 😁
I do canicross with mine too. Not competitively but, with a relaxed group. We run 5 to 10k with stops along the way. We don't run in summer because its too hot. I highly recommend it, once dogs are over 1 year old.
U have good dog training
After 13 years of living with a Staffie, I can easily say the are an awesome breed. The bad rep is absolutely undeserved (the fault for a "bad" dog is always on the other end of the leash).
Energizer bunny outside, couch potatoe and snoring snugglebug inside. Knowing a Staffie is loving a Staffie, they steal hears left and right.
Yes, they steal ears by ripping them off
People are the problem. Point blank. We can't even admit that it's always how you train and treat a dog that determines if it will be dangerous or not.
Your '13 years' is YOUR statement and not 13 years of owning a 'game type' APBT.
Yep, that is exactly how my girl operates!
we had ours 16 years. So full of character and so loyal.
Always had Staffies, they are the best dogs ever. Wouldn't have any other breed. Staffies are angels sent to guide us!.
Wonderful comment and I also believe it to be true!
There just the best breed ever I will never own another breed 😘❤
I have a 6month old staffy and he's the most gentle and funny dog ever, walking him is an adventure he insists on saying hello to every single person that passes by 😅
I have one …they are extremely friendly and love people
I just lost my staffy Ruby. She was 16 years old and we had so many great memories and was the most loyal and loving dog. I really miss her so much and I am looking for a staffy to adopt so fast to fill in the gap. Thank you for sharing

My baby boy Staffy was a gentleman. Loves to please everyone. He gave us a lot of joy and happiness. Miss him dearly.
Been afraid of dogs in the past but got a staffordshire bull as neighbor and just love it 🥰
I met a staffy named Percy and he literally is the sweetest boy ever he literally makes everyone so happy with his goofy, loving personality.
No aggressive at all but bites people. Do you hear your simple, narcissistic self?!
@@marka8537 excuse me?
Something from her previous history no doubt; but they are as you describe, the most wonderful of dogs!
Wonderfull comment and yes staffies are the best
Bless you 🙏 ♥
@@lennyjennings8748 Thanku , she's still thriving and improving week upon week . One outstanding malfunction is , she has a passion for travel , and has , on at least a dozen occasions , bounced swiftly and determinedly into ANY vehicle that has open doors .
Cheers from Finland!
lol that is a true gentle(man) canine!
Omg. My staffie is such a baby. Everyone she meets she loves and they are amazed at how loving and friendly she is.
This area was historically part of Staffordshire, but since boundary changes is now West Midlands and is nowhere near Stafford.
had one and now when i see any staffy on the street or video i instantly smile.they all now have special place in my heart forever.amazing dogos.
Staffies are great family dog I have had since I was a kid and I do have one now and I love her to bit's thank you for sharing 🐕
This is what my staffy does but he'll bring a shoe/slipper instead of a toy
Different temprement between Staffy, AmStaff
My Staffy is from Ruffian line of Old Eng Irish Staffies, th agresion has been bred out
AmStaff...were from original Eng Pit fighting dogs, & old Eng. Irish Staffies., then became APBT, then 1936, AKC registered them as AmStaff
There is no pitbull in a purebred Staffy, bull & terrier
@Carl This is very true 👍.
Shep. Bulldog. Peke. Pug. ...is awful. way too pushed in, short muzzled
Whatever is trendy, is poorly, over bred. The cane corsos, is new rage
I love my little 25 lb.

Recently adopted a Staffy who’s so loving and full of fun!! Thanks for all the info ,great channel, any advice on what’s the best diet 🦴Many Thanks ❤️🐾

The old Staffy, are not what was shown here, there were AAmstaffs, bullies, & mixes1
Back in the day, fighting dogs, had to be dog agressive, & ppl friendly, & were fine family pets .
It was in the 80s, when back yard breeders, mixed mastiffs, & other large breeds, over bred un balanced, mean , what th rappers& drug dealers wanted ,.. is what u got today

I love Staffies. I want to get one when I am retired and will look at local dog shelters for my new best friend.
She is the perfect dog for me, and during working day, she gets some really good naps (i work from home)
The bread is a talker bread ... she grunts all the time :D oink oink, which is both funny and wierd, but she is always in a happy mood.... a VERY friendly dog.

I rescued both of my Staffadors as strays in the street and they're both so playful and clingy
Thank you for a great video.
Solid!
Top KEK!
Peace be with you.
Good, clear and concise guide. I reckon you could replace Staffy with any dog breed and it could work just as well.
I just got my Am. Staff. And she's a sweet gentle love bug she loves people. Too much. ❤
Totally different breed to the English staffy/
I’ve rescue Staffy in Poland. In Uk Staffy its popular breed but in Poland is very rare. There is fb group where ppl looking to rehome staffy in Poland and some ppl waiting a long time.
My SBT is amazing. Best dog breed ever and Ive had a Beauceron, American Bulldog, Lab, Bouvier, and Doberman. They are perfect IMO. People scared of them are just ignorant. Love them!!
My first dog was mixture of staff and eng bull, second dog pedigree eng bull, now I have blue staff, love em
Awww my favourite breed fact . I've got a blue staffy sky 💙 she's nearly 9 and I've had her since a pup . AND SHES MY BEST FRIEND 👌 X
Something I have noticed since having mine is people get a staffy and think they are sofa dogs don't never take them out and wonder why their bouncing off the ceiling
Interesting facts !!!!
my parents got two English staffies for me to you know, not get bored when I was born,I grew up with the two dogs and still with one of them, sadly we had to put down the other one last year,I can confirm that staffies are probably the best dogs
My snappy sounds like a bottle rocket when she gets nervous it's hilarious
I have a one yeAr old male staffy and hes gorgeous loving gentle intelligent fun loyal and my best mate hes great best dog ive ever had xx ❤❤❤
Planning on adopting one, only year and 8 months hes been shelted since birth? How should ibplan for care?
I wish it was longer or somehow magically he would be with me until my last breath.
staffies are the best dog you can have...so lovely
BEST DOG BREED EVER
All Staffys are thief's, they will steal kisses, steal your food but most of all they will steal your damn heart
Staffys are incredible dogs, I adopted 1 from our local shelter, and I also adopted a pitty, from a rescue. Both are great. Sadly both nreeds are banned in many provinces in Canada. People totally misjudge them
Staffies are so loving caring and empathic, i will never get another breed, my staffie are so random haha
I don't even say that she is a pit bull because she
Has never seen a pit, I just say she is my baby bull dog!
Apparently the Brits know and appreciate a great dog breed.
Also known as the "nursery dog" The staffie has a great love for children and will not harm them in normal circumstances
No Nanny dog
Never known as the Nanny Dog in the breeds entire documented history which goes back to the 1820s . It was made up nonsense in the 1970s by breeders to sell dogs to gullible fools like you ….
This video gave me reason number 3046 of why I hate PETA! So glad they were unsuccessful!
Funny on some other channels they say wash em once a week. But they also then go
On to recommend or sell you shampoo
Meg a cute blue male today. I can’t wait to get one of my own.
Best breed on Earth!😊
I lucked out. I live in NJ. Adopted what I thought was a pit bull. But after months of research, found out she is a staffy, not a am staff. She can be a handful but a great dog overall
Our staffy loves eating ice cubes and frozen cubes of Greek natural yoghurt with a raspberry popped in!
I own and breed these dogs(english/American staffies),if you're looking for a life long loyal partner, this dog is perfect for you. These dogs are also perfect for a family with small kids or babies. As a guard dog forget about them attacking humans anything else best be aware!!
The most loving dog. Love our boy
Love your staff people.👍🇭🇲
Honest to god i swear i have never met an agressive staffy they are always just happy wee lovable things
Staffies are the most human loving dogs. All they need is a person to let them show their loyalty and love.
They kill the most humans
We went to a dog shelter that let’s you walk dogs as volunteer work. They brought out a black staffy named Troy. Told me to be careful, and yet she was the goodest, sweetest girl i’ve met. Wanna go adopt her so bad
And they got their own personalities! So much fun
Absolutely! Staffies are bursting with personality, each one as unique and lovable as the next.
My staffy is a doll with any other animal and she adores the kids super aware of people's safety and loves all the treats
