Apparently the game defaults to that animation when for whatever reason the posture of the corpse prevents one of the other scripted death poses from playing. If I remember correctly, bodies in RDR2 are only ragdolling before they hit the ground, whereupon they usually assume one of about 10 preset poses - most likely done to ensure the body-looting animation always looks right. So when none of those poses work, it reverts back to that hilariously old animation, which I think actually originates in "GTA III"! It's crazy they're still using it, but I suppose it makes sense in a way, and it happens so rarely that most people wouldn't even notice it. In this case I'm guessing it was because the woman's body fell almost on top of the man's, so her rag doll and his collision probably interacted in some funky way and that forced the default death animation.
I kind of found one as well, in the epilog as John. After the scene with Rains Fall at the train station in Annsburg, after he leaves on the train, there's a horse at the hitching post in front of the station on the right (as you are facing the front of the station on the street). If you start patting the horse and then get on it, Rains Fall will re-appear and pull you off the horse and get on it. I don't know where he goes, as I did not follow him. Might be worth a try to see what happens.
Rockstar is still a pusey when it comes to children though. In any mission scene where there are non adult characters, throwing a dynamite or flame bottle causes the screen to instantly fade to black. This happens even if you enable the mod that makes such characters killable. I understand making you fail the mission if you harm innocent kids, but not even having the balls to show the aftermath? Kids are hurt all the time, and unfortunately there is no magic fade to black when it happens in real life. Rockstar, grow a pair.

Not having kids at all bothers me way less than having invincible kids, it never bothered me in GTA for instance. Also yes, I installed the mod specifically after encountering the St Denis "kids". Now they're getting instantly gutted every time I see them.

Then I followed him around and he went the opposite way of the mission, so he wasn't there for the first part of the mission.

I have managed to so far aboid Thomas Downes by doing the skip mission glitch in Chapter 2. I am now currently in the beginning of Chapter 4 and the Thomas Downes mission is still on the map. I knew I could delay the mission in Chapter 2 but I am very suprised that I was able to bypass it completely. I don't believe it will change anything because the game is scripted for Arthur to die. I do not believe Rockstar made a secret alternate ending or whatever lol That would be really cool and amazing but I highly doubt it...
I think I was the person who told you about how killing Grangers animals will illicit special dialogue! 😂 However, I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t knife fight Granger. That’s the only way to finish that duel, preferably in the pig pen. Also, you can kill the grizzly from dead eye, with a poison arrow to the eyeball (or knife, like you mentioned). I’m sure you already know this, but I’m mentioning for anyone else who might think you need to run away to do it.

If you have Rampage Trainer and use the cutscene player in the miscellaneous tab, you can always play outside the cutscene by setting hotkeys on the cutscene you want and the ‘stop current’ button. For example, I use B for the cutscene I want and C for the stop current button. Anyway, when I exit out of the trainer I press B to load the cutscene, wait until the beginning of the cutscene has loaded, and press B again, followed immediately by spamming C. What this does is create two cutscenes but only kicks you out of the first one, so now you can watch the cutscene and just walk around.
Seeing the Bartender straight up planting a sawed off shotgun shell in a sleeping Calloweay gotta be the funniest shit i've seen all day, thanks for that entertainment

Speaking of that bar, if you come across the random event where uncle is about to get beaten by someone outside the bar and you rescue him, if you go into the bar, you can encounter the guy and have words with him. However, if you decide to knock his ass out after he threatens uncle, nobody will do anything. The bartender will still serve you, even with that dude knocked out on the floor.
I wish you could have recruited gang members to accompany you after you did a few missions or favors for them. Just imagine asking bill or john to come with you to plan your own train or shop robbery. Or just go hunting with charles. Have to remember to kill grangers animals for my evil arthur
Also, I’m guessing many people know this, but I only recently realized you can take Thomas Downes’ hat from him, if you snatch it right when you knock it off him. For some reason, I was never able to pick it up before, even when the “pick up” option would be available. It also is just funny seeing Arthur in that hat. It harkened back to memories of Fenton and Melvin, teaching the town of Rhodes about the fine art of advertising. Or something like that. 🤷🏻♂️😂
During my latest playthrough, when I went to do American’s at Rest, I had an NPC antagonize into a brawl. Because of the fight in town, the mission locked, and Javier came out. I could interact with him, until he looted the body I had just knocked out, and it gave me a wanted level.

You can't have them all, I tried. The last one will only appear after you talk to him.
