    Man I just came across these videos and they're better than Tascam's own videos. Please do some more.

    I upgraded to the M24 around a year ago, is a great mixing board, is great to be able off the computer, also how simple is to connect with the computer and transfer in/out by copy/paste..is only missing few things imo the basic "tuner", a metronome, and there is no mastering stuff. But is so much fun to use, a big upgrade from the DP-008ex even better from the DP-006. Looking forward to see your next videos.

      Good points. Maybe they could add at least a metronome in a firmware update, it's a pretty basic item.
      One other thing would be to make it like the Model 12 and enable it to be a contact surface in a daw, really cool feature.
      I would have paid more if they put more processing into it.
      I'm sure that they decide on a price point and put what they can into it.
      I like it for what it is, mainly an easy to use board that can capture all your tracks individually.
      Thanks.

      What do you mean "there is no mastering stuff"? There's mastering on my DP-008ex but not on this model??

    • @lonemanextraordinary
      @lonemanextraordinary Год назад

      @Taffer's Tower yeah exactly, the DP008ex has some basic mastering presets that are handy to use, the M24 don't have those tools, is not the end of the world because overall this is a way more professional interface, maybe only the DP008EX comes with those presets

    I bought the M24 several years ago, new, for under a grand. Love it. I use it as a mixer into my DP32. If you want to hear it’s capability check out “Blue Leech” on Neutral Earth’s album-Current, Volts & Ohms on RUclips. The M24 was the stand alone recording device used on that particular song. I can’t imagine not having my M24, in Neutral Earth’s recording process.

    About how much recording time do you get on a 32 gb sd card?

    I thought you can assign tracks through another like the dp24 but i dont think you can .like guitar thru 1st track say into 4 track?

      No you cant. The routing on the Model 24 is analog.

    I have a DP 24 arriving, but not confident I can navigate through all the menus and confusing tutorials, this Model 24 looks more analog user friendly., I truly need easy. Is there a huge sound quality difference between the two - the price difference is significant.. BTW - Love your DP 008 vids but wanted more tracks, so which do you recommend of the 24 track Tascams? Thanks!

    • @StudioonaStick
      @StudioonaStick  Год назад +1

      The DP is actually a pretty nice machine. It's not very complicated and is a good entry level digital. I highly recommend David Wills tutorial on it if it's still available. I took it and he really does a great job of setting you straight on it. It was really reasonable as I recall.
      Yes there is a sound difference, different pre amps and of course the 24 is actually analog, but both can sound fantastic if you work on them.
      Thanks for watching!

      Hi again - sorry to follow up so quickly but I didn't understand entirely. Maybe I didn't say it well. I'm asking you because I loved your videos - they provided a step by step method for so many of the dp 008 functions or I would never have figured it out, the last recording equipment I used was a Tascam 38 reel to reel and 316 mixing board. It was all tactile and not in layers of menus. - bottom line- - which deck suits an analog person, not technically inclined? The Davis Wills was not detailed enough for the DP 24 SD.. only 5 minutes long. Thanks so much!!

      @@joleneinga6911 Without any training the Model 24 is pretty easy to figure out. The DP 24 isn't super difficult but it does a lot more. If you don't need or want all of the individual deep controls of each track, the Model 24 is certainly easier to master.
      The David Wills course is on Udemy...

      If you end up keeping the DP I highly recommend that course, it's well worth the $15 in my opinion. It got me up and running in one (long) day :)

      @@StudioonaStick Thank you so much! That is very helpful and I don't mind at all paying for a course. So I assume then that you own and operate both machines? Do you do tutorials on them? I would prefer to pay you lol Thanks again, Kay

  • @jasondavidson2426

    Beautiful looking board, I'm guessing what you're paying extra for on this is the dedicated knobs and buttons. Some bumb deals that come to mind, no solo, and the limited track meter viewing in the screen. Wait, why are you going into another mixer? You need a separate interface for computer?

    • @StudioonaStick
      @StudioonaStick  3 года назад +1

      It's mainly oriented to live use with the added benefit of being able to record each individual track.
      You can solo tracks, just press pfl.
      The screen is small, but it's not as busy as many digital boards, due to all the physical knobs.
      I was fiddling with the Tascam in the video so I recorded the audio for this video with the Allen and Heath into an ipad and synced it in editing.
      I could get a mic into my camera but I just like the sound better this way.

      Lol! Yeah that was some day, I did lose my cool.
      The lawn crew chopped my cable in pieces and the cable company tried to get out of an emergency out of service call. I raised a bunch of sand and they finally came out and threw a cable across my lawn.
      I love the Model 24, going strong.
