Seriously bad dog owner. But the cat owner shouldn't have let the cat loose to wonder.
Keep your pets indoors unless you can supervise but especially secure animals if you're not going to immediately sit the door behind you. Never ever risk letting your pet get out. That owner is lucky that dog didn't do it in front of the cat's owner and even luckier the dog didn't go after a little kid.

@lamija-mc4et that's completely fair. This one hit home for me a bit because I did lose my cat in a traumatic way, & I don't think I can ever forgive the people who tried to cover it up. My gut just knew. So I pushed for more answers & of course, they broke my heart & I still don't think I have all the facts. I'm not sure if I'd rather just think she got out & had a new life, I don't think I'd believe it. Like I said, I knew in my gut. I miss Spice more anything on this planet. Love you, Spicy.

Story 3: this story is hitting me more than most because my own cat whom I raised for the last 18 years just passed away (she was old and diabetic, it was inevitable). But even knowing her clock was ticking and everything was hard and I'm still reeling. If I hadn't a clue and she just disappeared, I would develop anxiety just over the worry I'd feel. You guys NEED to tell her immediately. Not asap. Not at the nearest opportunity. RIGHT. NOW. She is without a shadow of a doubt worried sick and you'd better prep for a tongue lashing because you damn well deserve it for holding onto this information. 100% the jerks in this situation and the neighbor who dumped the poor cat's body in the trash isn't a jerk. My dog killed a stray that jumped into my backyard a few months ago. I ran to stop him, I got myself injured trying to stop him, I door knocked looking for an owner, I took the cat to an emergency vet (it was a late Sunday afternoon) and I more than willingly paid the surrender fee. I damn well called to check in on the cat and see if there was a microchip. Sadly the cat didn't make it, but a sliver of a silver lining is that there was no microchip and no one came looking for the cat. I still think about trying to find the owner and I'm certain there isn't one, you don't just dump the body and let someone suffer...

@@wowgek7 If this happened to me, well thanks to my state laws and the way my local municipality some very serious things will happen.
      1) pets are considered family here and thus the cat getting killed then disposed of constitutes kidnapping and death result from it. so we are talking prison time is on the table (rarely do people get prison time but instead have to pay the kind of fines where you have to sell a car/the house to pay it off).
      2) your dog is that aggressive and jumped a cat to that degree? congratulations your dog is being killed because you refused to train it properly.
      3) the neighbor is being added to a list where if they are barred from ever having a pet again, if caught with one they will be paying a fine and the animal taken from them.
As for the cat owner, they are ALSO a total jerk. Cats should be house cats ONLY unless you live out in farm country. It doesn't matter how much the cat paws at the door or yowls or anything, KEEP IT INDOORS! Cats are prey animals for a huge list of animals. Yes they are also a predator but that is for things smaller than them and can only handle things bigger than themselves when working with other cats. Story 3 (long). You are not just jerks, you are terrible human beings. You two have probably never owned cats. The feeling you get when they don't come home, where are they?, are they afraid?, are they hurt?, are they even alive? If that happens, tell them. Yes they are gonna be sad their cat is dead, but at least they know what happened, and can accept it and maybe start moving on.
We once had a cat who suddenly got sick, and he got outside. Hours went by and we waited, looked for him, nothing. Then late at night he came home, barely able to walk. And the next day we lost him. The vet said it was just a matter of hours. At least then we knew what we had to do and we know what happened. If he didn't come home he would have died outside, and we would probably not have found him. That would have been pure hell for us.

The Cat story is a big ol mixed bag for me. I’m a big cat lover myself so my immediate bias would be to want to know. But, at the same time, I actually have been in a similar boat since I was less than 10 years old (I’m 27 now for reference). We had a cat named Tiger WAY back in the day who was an outdoor cat. Always coming and going, bringing dead moles and mice inside. He was nice. But then, one day, he never came back. We waited months, but he was gone. As a kid, I thought he was just living it up. In my teens, I thought maybe someone adopted him. As an adult, I almost wonder if he was killed by a car, a person, or another animal. But I try to believe that he was taken in by someone who didn’t know he had a home and he lived a long happy life. Ignorance is bliss sometimes, and made his disappearance easier to handle. Compared to knowing how other cats my family has owned have passed away (one died because of an allergic reaction to Flea Bath formula, one from getting into rat poison, and the last of old age and dwindling health), he is the easiest to cope with, since at least I can pretend he had a happy life instead of a similar sad fate.
Moraly, someone should have told that woman, absolutely. Though my guess is the neighbor refuses to for fear of the reaction since it was his fault and his dog that caused it.

Nah you're cat died or was eaten by a bigger animal, thems the facts. Also screw ignorance is bliss, people deserve to know and need to learn how to handle the truth, because if you can't handle the truth then disappear from the face of the planet. Humanity doesn't need people living in a false reality.

The OP in the first story is a massive AH. Yeah, the red car driver was in the wrong for parking in the spot and then going around and getting confrontational afterwards. But the OP was far worse by inciting violence against him. If the guy had been a continuous problem then that is one thing, but doing it once and going over and getting angry about a ticket, although AHish, is not a reason to publicly shame him with the full knowledge that it would incite violence and retribution against him. So yeah, the OP in the first story is just as AHish as the guy they're talking about.

The OP in story 3 was horribly callous. Why provide cover for a neighbor with a vicious dog who casually throws someone's beloved cat into a trash can? I can only imagine the grief that the poor pet parent went through.
Please, readers, keep your cats inside _for their own safety._ Sadly, stories such as this are not uncommon.

Story 3, OP brother AND the neighbor especially are all assholes. Animal control should have been called on those dogs ASAP, they are obviously violent, and the owner seems to not care since he just took the cat and dumped it in the trash.
Brothers need to tell the poor lady, and something needs to be done about those dogs.

Seriously, why do people think that the proper response to animals being animals is to punish the owner and kill the other animal. Like bro I have cats and dogs they're used to each other, but I know my dogs would absolutely tear up another wild or someone's animal because they don't know them. With all that said, someone (anybody) tries to take my animals away from me and tries to put them down, good ol' 2 amamend will roll in for me. Eff you for trying.

That woman has a right to know that her dick hole neighbor and his murderous dog killed her pet. The man did not give one half of a single fuck and just dumped it in a trash can not caring that his negligence caused his dog to kill someone's pet.
If that dog's first reaction when seeing another living thing was to kill it that dog should be taken away and put down. I say this as somebody who has both dogs and cats in the same house and have never had a single problem because my animals ARE TRAINED.
