The term “moor” actually derives from the Latin term maurus. Which is used a descriptive term for dark-skinned people.

As a people, we have a long and fascinating history. With the advent of the internet, making information formerly difficult to access, all sorts of truth is gradually emerging. May we all continue to pursue information that will help flesh out our true history and identity.
So far, we have our indigenous brothers, we have the enslaved Africans and Hebrews from the West Coast of Africa and recently we have discovered that we have the expelled dark skinned people of Europe. Many of them were rulers of England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, etc., not to mention Germany, France and Spain.
All of these countries were once dominated by dark skinned African people. They were the kings and queens of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Don't believe me?
Google "images of Queen Charlotte of England". If that's not a sister, there's not a cow in Texas. The city of Charlotte, NC was named after her. But how many residents of Charlotte know about it?
Do some homework about Thomas Cromwell and the wars he waged to expel all dark skinned peoples from the British Isles. Where did they go? They were brought to recently colonized America. Some landed on their feet. See the back of the $2 bill and see a dark man sitting at the table? That was the first President of the United States of America. His name? John Hanson.
Another mindblower is the fact that most of the dark skinned people in America today are descendants of the Hebrew Israelites! Don't believe that one? Than read Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and notice the detailed description of slavery there. When you are finished listing them, ask yourself: "In all of human history, who has experienced all of these "curses"?
As they say: "The truth is often stranger than fiction". Peace and shalom, family.

Now this makes a lot of sense here. I neve liked the NOI telling all BA's that we had our slave masters last names and thus we all should change our names. Excellent video.

He needs to read the 1790 Sundry Moors Act, to understand that Moor, is a geopolitical Nationality and is recorded as such in international law. The term Moor is synonymous with Muslim, and is recognized as such post in a sociopolitical sense. We have only to google the ethnic groups of Morocco and Mauritania to see that Moors are accounted for as Berber, Arab and African and later as American indigenous and aboriginal people's that mixed (Sundry) with the Irish and Scottish frontiersman of the 16th century. The term Moor, further has pre - Islamic origins and supersedes the rise of both the Greek and Roman Empire's. The kingdom of Morocco is a recent political development because the European Christian crusaders were trying to destroy the khilaf/Sultanate. Read Dr. Umar Farouq Abdullah Phd academic work of the "Turks Moors and Moriscos in the early America's, meaning before the arrival of the European's and their alliance with the British to overthrow the Spanish and Portuguese ships and colonies in the America's. As for surnames, such are for the European colonial occupiers who were Christian. Surnames did not exist on the bloodlines of the aboriginal and indigenous peoples of the America's. The method of surnames that he is talking about existed in Europe and are classified as "topographic descriptions" of a given people in Europe who were conquered by other European, such as the Norman Saxxons, Vikings and Franks etc. Although similar, to our tradition's, they are culturally world's apart.

The funny thing about this is I was wondering about surnames recently. I also was thinking about El, Bey, Ali,& Dey because I saw that Johnson means son of John. When did Bey, Ali etc come about far as our people going by these names? It seems as though keeping a name like Taylor for instance is not bad. Good video Bro!

I respect brother Turtle Gang's knowledge, but he just said Moor means sea faring peoples or nations... and that melenated people became known as Moors in general because of the similarities in appearance which means that even before Moor was used in its later context to describe melenated peoples.. there were people know as Moors .. not just in a function. So by proving his point he also showed and proved that a Moor is a real thing. So establishing your nationality through your ancestral tribe doesnt mean that Moors aren't real. It's just means there are levels to this shit.

I can only speak from my perspective as having both parents coming from the island of Dominica (not the republic), there were skilled people and trading all over the island, an example is my last name is French for 'source of water' because it was under French colonial rule, then it came under British colonial rule until the 20th century, yet my name remained French from at least the 18th century....think about it? surely the British slavers would change my name right?
My point is our names are descriptive even by Europeans terms and plenty of documented evidence along with a multitude of paintings show people going about their skilled trades, that's not debatable and this video corroborates that.
As for our names? we all obviously have two parents and my mothers family name could possibly be from anywhere as it means 'gods protection'.... in other words don't sweat it if you don't know how it ties in because it still means something.

Yo, peoples. A lot of y'all commenting "yeah, that makes sense about surnames". Remember: Just because something sounds like it 'could' be true, doesn't mean that something 'is' true. Don't mess around and do the same thing that many white people have already done to our history - and that is just take any 'ol shit that sounds possible, as fact without any historical basis to back it up.
Sorry, I don't think you're gonna find in some 'historical annul' a document which 'proves' and states "oh, yeah.... We worked in a mill.... but before we started working in a mill we didn't have a surname.... so we got high one day and decided let's add another name.... we'll call ourselves 'Miller'...".
Many of these Europeans already had these surnames dating far back into their lineage before they even got to the Americas, and there is a good amount of historical documentation to demonstrate such. Were there any instances of assignment of occupational/locational surnames? Sure; Some. But, also, many were not.

Moor` is an ethnicity and culture.
    wiki Burkina Faso.
the nationality is Moor` a real ethnicity
afro Asiatics are all Moors well mostly, some judean
from Comoros Mombasa Mali Cameroon Madagascar morroco Mauritania
Moors flooded the continent in ancient times the same Moors of Asiatic descent like Pacific island and India.
now Google Burkina Faso and Mali Moors
look at the language culture and ethnicity on wiki.
you will see that `moor` is more than mooring like this fellow claims.
Moor is a beautiful culture and I can prove it.
but first wiki Burkina Faso and look at their language.
    it's moor.
then Google Comoros Moroni people it's where Mormonism plagiarised their whole concept in the Indian Oceania.you tube now
now quickly do it and disprove this guy
moor is a nationality and it is yours because Mendes are Moors mandan in Anasazi Arizona and Colorado are Moors
