That’s fantastic to hear! We’re so glad our discussion helped bring clarity to "Dear God." It’s a profound song that touches on so many important themes. Thank you for being part of this journey with us! And feel free to email us with any requests or thoughts you have-we love hearing from you!
(Lyrics) Dear God, hope you get the letter, and- I pray you can make it better down here I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer But all the people that you made in your image See them starving on their feet 'Cause they don't get enough to eat from God I can't believe in you Dear God, sorry to disturb you, but- I feel that I should be heard loud and clear We all need a big reduction in amount of tears And all the people that you made in your own image See them fighting in the street 'Cause they can't make opinions meet about God I can't believe in you Did you make disease and the diamond blue? Did you make mankind after we made you And the devil too? Dear God, don't know if you noticed, but- Your name is on a lot of quotes in this book And us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look And all the people that you made in your own image Still believing that junk is true Well, I know it ain't so, and you know Dear God, I can't believe in- I don't believe in- I won't believe in Heaven and Hell No saints, no sinners, no devil as well No pearly gates, no thorny crown You're always letting us humans down The wars you bring, the babes you drown Those lost at sea and never found And it's the same the whole world 'round The hurt I see helps to compound The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost Is just somebody's unholy hoax And if you're up there, you'll perceive That my heart's here upon my sleeve If there's one thing I don't believe in It's you Dear God
The lyrics you shared really capture a lot of frustration and confusion about faith and the hardships people face in the world. They highlight feelings of disillusionment with the idea of a caring deity when so many suffer. It’s a powerful way to express doubts and raise important questions about belief and the realities of life. And speaking of reminders, don’t forget to buy coffee! It's a perfect way to fuel those thoughtful reflections. Enjoy!
@@88pjtink No problem at all! We will be so happy to receive -there’s nothing like a good cup to fuel those thoughts and reactions. We appreciate your kind words! Thanks for posting these blasphemous lyrics for people to see. People need to be aware of what they are listening to and opening their minds to. This song is all wrong.
@@gowiththeflow1476 Uh huh. You are NOT happy I posted these lyrics is what I am feeling. I recommend "The God Delusion" to you by Richard Dawkins. I personally am an atheist as he, but this is not the place to discuss the folly of religion. This is about expression trough music. I don't complain when I hear C.U. sing, "Jesus Take the Wheel". I like that song. Just enjoy it musically.
You're welcome! It's great to hear you love the song-it really captures some deep feelings and important questions. And you're right! There are plenty of powerful songs that explore doubt and questioning faith, showing that atheists definitely have their voices in music. It's a reminder that art can express a wide range of beliefs and experiences.
Naw, naw, naw! This song’s lyrics say it all. It’s a fist pump to atheists. This song directly blasphemes the one true Holy God and Creator. Pull up the lyric sheet to this unholy song. It hurts me to listen to this rebellious song. All will bend the knee to Jesus Christ and the almighty Father! Again, the lyrics are direct, rebellious & oppose God & Christians alike. Not a fan of this one guys. Hopefully some others might see my comment and take something from it.
Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts and perspective. It's clear this song evokes strong emotions for you, and we respect your passion for your faith. Music can indeed be deeply personal, and everyone’s response is valid. Hopefully, your comment resonates with others who share your beliefs. Take care and keep standing strong in what you hold dear.
Never quite understood this on my teens, but now it has made sense in my 60 year old self. 😮

(Lyrics)
Dear God, hope you get the letter, and-
I pray you can make it better down here
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer
But all the people that you made in your image
See them starving on their feet
'Cause they don't get enough to eat from God
I can't believe in you
Dear God, sorry to disturb you, but-
I feel that I should be heard loud and clear
We all need a big reduction in amount of tears
And all the people that you made in your own image
See them fighting in the street
'Cause they can't make opinions meet about God
I can't believe in you
Did you make disease and the diamond blue?
Did you make mankind after we made you
And the devil too?
Dear God, don't know if you noticed, but-
Your name is on a lot of quotes in this book
And us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look
And all the people that you made in your own image
Still believing that junk is true
Well, I know it ain't so, and you know
Dear God, I can't believe in-
I don't believe in-
I won't believe in Heaven and Hell
No saints, no sinners, no devil as well
No pearly gates, no thorny crown
You're always letting us humans down
The wars you bring, the babes you drown
Those lost at sea and never found
And it's the same the whole world 'round
The hurt I see helps to compound
The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Is just somebody's unholy hoax
And if you're up there, you'll perceive
That my heart's here upon my sleeve
If there's one thing I don't believe in
It's you
Dear God

@ Well spoken. You’re right, it’s my opinion from my perspective. Thx for your comment
If it "hurts" you to listen to words and expression of feelings, maybe you should look at that. Atheists don't believe in "blaspheny".
