It finally happened... after four years of work I finished the granary restoration. What was a centuries-old, ruined stone building, with a collapsed roof, dirt floor, no windows or doors and crumbling stone walls, is now a fully-functioning workshop. Thank you to everyone who helped along the way!

What an amazing job done restoring the old granary , it looks fabulous. Can’t wait to see the old cottage brought back to life 🙃
Yeah but not in bright red 🕶️
The lintels look great, but the doors, personal taste I know, nice to see siorla? Pottering around too ✨
Yes, great job on that one. I still can't believe that he had to order locks from all the way from the UK to Northern Ireland...hahaha
@@ko6el red is a common enough colour for trims in rural Ireland 🙃
totally agree...what amazing character this guy is.
Incredible work. You are one of the few on here that do this at your own pace & I love that. Many rush in & start planting in the first year before they know the land, climate, geology etc. I love that you took 4 years to do this at minimal cost with volunteers & recycle as much as possible. Doing the barn first was also a brilliant idea. A practice run so your cottage will be incredible. If it takes you another 4 years or longer to do the cottage then so be it. Bravo.
I have been enjoying your channel for a few years now, so it is very satisfying to see the transformation. Well done! (And the red accents are superb.)
From Oklahoma, USA to Ireland I compliment you on a great job. Lots of hard work but well worth it.
It's always surprising, not only how long these jobs take, but also the material costs. You done a nice job of it. A good workshop is essential - especially when you get round to renovating the cottage. Best wishes :)
With all the craziness and evil in the world, you're a reminder of what life should be like.
God Bless you.
I suspect the world has ALWAYS been 'crazy' and 'evil'..!
We suffer, today, mainly from too much information!
In the 'good old days' we didn't know what was going on anywhere else..........
The stone granary looks beautiful and the red trim
Windows and doors contrast beautiful.A brilliant job done by all as its all teamwork. Outstanding
If that step slopes upwards as they go out you might want to consider cutting a slot in it just in front of the door for drainage.
Oh my goodness, Daniel! It is delightful to see your skill, determination, patience and ingenuity on this gorgeous granary! You are such an inspiration. I just love every one of your videos and love everything you do. You are a special person.
Well done. Your hard work has paid off. It looks brilliant!!!
the galvy sheets age nicely, look cool, and add character.
It's probably a good thing that you didn't know at the outset that it would take four years to restore the granary, as that might have been discouraging. My college voice teacher told me that she didn't usually level with her students that "it takes 10 years to build a voice" because most would not have stuck with it. You've done a beautiful job, and the world thanks you -- at least the world of people who cherish and want to preserve tradition.
The video I have been waiting for!!! First love the red. Second is a word of caution, the slide locks do work great, but in my case to well. I got locked in my goat barn, the wind slammed the door and the law of whats in motion remains in motion kicked in the lock slid shut and I was stuck in there for 2 hours, thankfully my husband was home and it wasn't freezing cold, and I could get my little dogs barking inside to wake my husband. What was 2 hours could have been upwards of 2 days. I have gate latches which now have caribbeaners on them to prevent that.
That thought crossed my mind too! Glad you were rescued quickly!
Such an incredible restoration. Thank you.
Amazing content and progress as always, a pleasure to watch.
We just had to say goodbye to our retired working collie, and seeing Moss so happy is really lovely.
Perhaps during some seasons of the year, you could even move a sleeping bag or mattress into the building as a temporary shelter. That building would definitely withstand the fiercest winter storm.
Excellent job. I love how you repurposed the old clothing. The granary is beautiful!
Genius decision to do the granary first. Then you apply what you learned to the cottage restoration. Looking forward to your progress.
You were right when you said the granary was a work of art. In the process you have become a competent craftsman. Congratulations on a job well done.
I didn't think it will be ready in my lifetime. It was worth waiting.
Loads of hard work that has really paid off!
Looks awesome 👍
Thanks again for sharing!
Mossy Bottom - one of the main reasons, believe it or not, why I moved to Ireland. I hope I will get the chance to visit one day! Currently living in beautiful Killarney with plenty to explore whilst working to become free of my student debt but who knows where I will end up having inspirations like that. It's just nice to follow up ideas like that budding and blooming.
Many blessings for the whole household!:)
Nelly.
Fascinating to watch your remarkable journey. I volunteered helping a couple who's RUclips channel is called "Ship Happens" restoring a world war 2 boat used in the D-day. Very rewarding day's with the skills learnt and the people you meet, of course plenty of brews to keep you going. Knowing that you have contributed to a piece of history to something that will be around for many years.
I found you in your early youtube days. So satisfying to witness you slowly transform your property into what it is today. You are a remarkable young man and I sincerely wish you health, safety, prosperity, good fortune, and always surrounded by good people.
Finaly a story about the restoration. It has been promised several times . Thanks its great.
With hard work come great satisfaction! Well done!!
The Granary!!!!!!!!! It's finally complete! Wow, I'm seriously impressed with your dedication and hard work! I truly hope you feel proud of yourself for such an accomplishment! Congrats :)
Wonderful to see the old granary completed, the workshop is ideal for projects out of the wind and rain. You’ve acquired so many skills over the last four years Daniel, it’s inspirational watching your progress. Best wishes x
Beautiful job! I’ve used the plastic coated sheet on my my workshop, been in place for 10 years and still in good Nick.
Fantastic. A work of art. You've achieved so much over the years, well done! Don't suppose you fancy having a go at restoring our old ruin now? 😜
Congratulations, Daniel! you have managed to restore the granary to perfection! You must feel so gratified by all that you learned and achieved. You never fail to amaze us!
Wow! You did a great job of accomplishing this gargantuan task!
You have made a wonderful workshop😊👏👏👏
Your hard work and tenacity is very obvious. A well directed plan for the future.
Beautiful job Daniel (and all the elves that helped you en route). I can’t wait to see what you do with the house. 👏👍
That’s amazing, thank you for sharing!
It's great to do these things when one is younger. I'm in my fifties now and it's harder to do a lot, and if I could go back in time, I'd do things better so they don't require so much maintenance. Example: I'm rebuilding a fence that I could've built out of cedar, but I used regular lumber and painted it. Cedar and stain would've lasted so much longer.
Wut? Are people saying you're fat??? You are NOT. You look great :)
What a difference, Daniel. I’m so glad you now have a workshop! Yay! Talk about putting blood, sweat, & tears into a project. Of course, you’re no stranger to that.
I remember that time you were sick from drinking unfiltered water from your stream, if memory serves. Could you have or did you get sick from shoveling up the animal especially rat droppings kicking up in the dust. I was surprised to see you weren’t safely masked up for a project like that.
At any rate, the former granary now looks stunning. I remember how it looked in the early days. Bravo!!
👏🏼 🌀✌🏼
Thank you for these update videos. Showing the progress in this shorter video makes it more real to me from beginning to end. Great job!
Wow! Well done you and your volunteers! I'm sure you would never have completed this without Moss's help. You have gotten so much done over the few years you have been there. A job like this can not be rushed if you want to do it right!
Wow! Just Wow! Well done, congratulations 🎊!
It looks so great. I can’t wait until you start on the cottage you’re gonna do a beautiful job. The granary has taught you everything you need to do for the cottage
You can feel very proud of what you have achieved well done!
Well done! Your vlogs are addicting, I enjoy how you explain everything so calmly but packed with useful information. Cheers!
Loved seeing all the hard work in this video and what a beautiful finished product. I also enjoyed seeing that photo of Moss sleeping in the corner of the granary. That same photo is this months picture on your calendar and I’ve been enjoying it very much.
I'm SO SO SO HAPPY for you! Great job...amazing job. Congratulations! You are so patient and thorough. I just really commend you on taking your time, doing the job well. It must feel just fantastic to have accomplished all that. Keep on truckin'! And keep the videos coming. They are all very inspiring for me. Best wishes.
You do such good quality work! Can’t wait to see the cottage project installments!
Your stone work is brilliantly beautiful. You look like a healthful farmer who works for a living. Congratulations on all your hard work.
1:50 That spider dropping in from the ceiling to make his cameo.
Amazing work. It is easy to see that you care about quality. I began watching soon after you moved to your land, and it is hard to believe it has been 4 years. Thanks for the tip about the Eco flow. that looks awesome!
Great job ! I really appreciated the respect you had in the restoration of the granary . I think that ancient buildings tell the history of a place and the people who lived there. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped you.
Elena, Italy
This is an excellent journey from beginning to completion. Excellent. Thank you.
I asked for this update (as I'm sure others did). So, thanks for this. It looks amazing!
I know the ecoflow piece was an ad, but why was i fascinated by it.
because it is a gamechanger for independence. I was so fascinated that I bought a smaller one some months ago. At least I can have coffee in a power outage, lol
Fantastic job and great to see a part of rural Ireland come to life again
Love the trim painted in red. Amazing workshop
Congratulations!! Looks amazing!! Love the red contrast with the stones!!
Daniel, what a fantastic surprise! I had no idea how much progress you have made on the Granary. You and your volunteers did an excellent job on everything. It was redone meticulously.
It looks amazing! All the hard work was worth it, and the skills you've acquired will come in handy on the homestead!
Gosh! What a good job you have done. Amazing achievement. Well done.
Congratulations on the new workshop. It turned out really well. All that hard work really paid off.
I am in awe)))) this is amazing!!!! how come you did this all by your hands. looks so so solid dear) congrats!!! feels so satisfying indeed
Great job at restoring this building. I enjoyed watching the video the process along the way. Looking forward to the next one.
Daniel, it's brilliant. What an impressive list of skills you have now. You are an inspiration to anyone unsure of "giving it a go". Well done to you and the volunteers.
It's lovely to see such a beautifully constructed functional old building being brought back to life for hopefully hundreds of years more. Very well done. It must make you very proud to see what you were able to achieve.
Fantastic episode, I love when you really give tips, advice from experience of what worked and what didn't. I'm going to watch it again to jot down some ideas. We have a stone byre about 200 years old and it needs repointed badly and roof work (slate roof) also has a huge crack that we can't fix ourselves but we'll try and tackle what we can because we're getting frustrated trying to get builders to give us the time of day! It's like pulling teeth to get them to come have a look then most don't call us back. So we're going to do what we can ourselves!
I should say that you are wanderful man, what a huge project and hardship , and you finally overcome and got throught, You are breve man with a lot of consistency.
Thanks for posting and sharing. Great to see the restoration.
SO inspiring. And comforting: I have a property that needs a lot of work, and it seems like it will take forever. Your work is very encouraging!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL JOB Daniel! Everything U look at must make U smile with 'pride of making and pride of ownership! Doesn't get much better than that. Thanks sooOOOoo much 4 sharing this progress, I have been curious 4 4 years now. Health and God Bless! :)
BRAVO!!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Here’s to a long, healthy life so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor!
This is amazing🌸 There are so many stone buildings across Ireland that need tlc 🌸
Such an amazing result, you and your patience are phenomenal! 👏🏻 cheers from the Southwest of Ireland! Planning to purchase an Ecoflow, I am happy that you showed the advantages. Thank you!
Very impressive. An undertaking not for the faint of heart so good on you to take it to completion.
😊 whishing you all the best !!! ❤ keep up your enthusiasm and stay true to yourself...
Fabulous job! You should be proud of yourself, particularly when you learned on the job all along the way. Well done!

Great job MB , you are an inspiration & I hope others follow your dreams !! When I was younger I had that dream but let it slide through illness !! I'm well now but not well enough & youth is still a huge asset to completing projects like yours !!
Wonderful story. It’s a real life goal of mine to restore an old house on my fathers land and videos like this give such inspiration! Thanks so much for sharing your story and can’t wait to see more content from you!
I too can't wait to see the old cottage coming back to life 😉😍

Looks amazing. All of your projects must be so satisfying once completed 🌻🌻
It's great to be where you are who you are now ( heureusement que vous n'avez pas choisit la France où vous étiez pendant 2 ans, même c'est magnifique en géographie and en nature), in your own " far away" to being happy.
👍
Beautiful job. Patience is a virtue
You did an amazing job! Very impressive! I love it as do your dog and cat ❤❤
