    Love the wording at 10:12, as the word "nuts" is a poker term for the best possible hand with the given board cards. I'm sure saying it was an accident, but it definitely qualifies here as a royal flush is always the best hand, period, in any situation with any given cards. Love the video and am new to the channel so I look forward to finding what all else you have here. Good job on this one.

    Thanks. This is great, I now have a follow up to a 5 card poker where I had to force the number of players. Now I can follow up with "well but most of you play hold'em so lets have a go at it" and since the last 5 card hand shown is a royal flush it will connect beautifully with this one. Now to memorize and practice that shuffle 😁

    I have been doing magic as an amateur for many years now and it has always been my passion. I must truly say that I really appreciate the time and effort that you take to explain some of the fine details of all of your effects, especially those dealing with mentalism. They all are well done, easy to follow and very informative. I try to incorporate many of them into my own repertoire of magic.
    As for this effect, while I too have worked "backwards" by reverse engineering some effects, this one appears to be most challenging in that it takes into account the variable of the number of players that is arbitrarily chosen. That aspect alone appears to be the key to this effect. Well done for having come up with that solution.
    By the way, how would this effect change if you were playing regular five card hold up (not Texas Hold Em') which would also include the variable of having a different number of players? Would the procedure change markedly?
    Please continue providing us with your excellent explanations of magic. It is a joy to watch you do your actual performance and then an even greater thrill to then see how the revelation. Thanks for sharing.

  • @j2b261
    @j2b261 4 года назад +1

    Cool trick. The exact wording you use is a little confusing because when you put the cards back in the deck you are calling the bottom of the deck "front" because that is the direction of the face of the cards, but that is not the "top" of the deck. It's the "bottom" of the deck. It's a good mathematical trick but I don't think could work in a real poker game.

    After doing this for a while, I was wondering how I might make the other poker hands better, so theoretically, they would stick around to the last card. In order to find out which cards and from where in the deck those random cards came from, I put the ace through king of spades (in new deck order) just above the 5 cards that will eventually make up my hand--then go through all the manipulations and dealt all face up. I quickly saw the 6 cards (assuming you are dealing a 4-hand set) were the 4-10 of spades. So I substituted those cards with other diamonds (to give players a chance at a flush), other high cards to give players a chance at high pairs, three of a kind, or even fill the straight. All this all can be done in advance. Makes things a bit more interesting as you deal the cards face down and each "player" sees the potential of their hand.

  • @brendanstack5423
    @brendanstack5423 18 дней назад

    I managed to figure out how to set up the deck to get the 4 Aces, the straight flush (7, 8, 9, 10, J of spades) and the Royal flush for the 3 player Texas Hold 'Em game. You place the royal flush with the 9 of spades on the bottom. The King and Queen of spades have to be together in the 2nd and 3rd positions on the bottom. Then you take the 2 aces which can be any and the 7 and 8 of spades. Alternate them and put those on the bottom. Then you need to put 2 random cards on top of those cards for the bottom section after and put the royal flush with the 9 spades on those 2 random cards. Finally place the third Ace in the second position on the top of the deck. That's it. This way when you do the shuffling formula those cards are controlled into the specific positions.
    Edit: I'll actually start from the top and work your way to the bottom to make it easier. Take out the Royal flush with the 9 of spades, three other aces with the 7 and 8 of spades and two random cards. First, place the first ace, (Not the ace of spades) in the second position on top. It can be any ace. Next take the two other aces (Not one with the ace of spades) and the 7 8 of spades and alternate them in any order. Place the 2 random cards on top of those cards. Then place the 9 of spades on the bottom. Finally place the Royal Flush (10 J Q K A of spades) on the bottom. Make sure the King and Queen of Spades are together in the 2nd and 3rd positions on the bottom and the 10 Jack and Ace are in the 1st, 4th and 5th positions in any order. Hopefully this all makes sense.
    Edit again: Turns out you can place the ace of spades if you want in the second position on top. It will still work. I'm done explaining now.

  • @DerGedankenleser
    @DerGedankenleser 2 года назад

    I am Lazy so I figured out something different.
    3 Aces on Bottom 1 on Top.
    Shuffle 1: Milking + 5 Cards from Top putting them all on top. So I have 5 random cards over my 2 aces on top.
    Shuffle 2: Milking + 3 Cards from top putting them all on top. So I have 4 random cards, one ace 1 random card, and two aces.
    Shuffle 3: Milking + 1 Card from top putting them all on top. So I have 2 Random cards 1 Ace, 2 random cards 1 ace, 1 random card 2 aces.
    Now I can deal Spectator 1 and 2 a random Card, me an Aces, spectator 1 and 2 another Random Card, me an Ace, random burn card, 2 Aces+ random card on flop.

    Hey just so I understand when you milk the cards you are taking two cards but for the 9 cards is it 9 cards or 18 cards (front and back) that’s the only part I’m confused on? Is “milking” only done in the beginning or throughout the whole shuffling/arranging?

    You cant deal from bottom when there is a cut card or bottom card that is blank.

    What about big blind small blind and the dealer? The first card always goes left to the dealer.

    • @SpideyHypnosis
      @SpideyHypnosis  3 года назад

      What? I literally have no clue where I lost you on this. I dealt the first card to my left, exactly as it should be. In a 3 player games all you have is big blind small blind and dealer (me). This system will always set up dealers hand regardless of number of players. Where did you get confused?

      9 individual cards. The only time you pull two cards I in the very beginning of the sequence when you milk the deck. Everything after that is single cards

    How will you do the 1st part (Milking) when your setting the cards infront of players or friends without them clearly seeing your setting the deck. The 2Nd time u did it was also very slow and anyone playing a game wont beable to set the deck like that. I know your doing it to show ppl as a magic trick but real world applicability the way u did it is low.
