I was in the casino business for 30 years. I know a great pair of hands when I see them. Very nice work. I've also been an avid fan of close-up magic since I was child. Take care and be well.

Hi, I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on this... After a couple of years learning these false shuffles, false cuts and card stacking, I still am not able to win at poker. I believe this is because Erdnase was never a real card cheat but an actual magician. Even when I give myself a full house, or 3 of a kind in aces, I am sometimes beaten at by someone I accidently dealt the straight flush to or a higher hand than mine. I honestly don't think this stuff is worth it for cheating... I mean, it's never helped me. I think it's just a form of card magic. By the way, I have never used a marked deck in a game. Erdnase discourages it, but I'm thinking of considering it for next time. Please, what are your thoughts?

      Hi,
I read "Phantoms of the card table" and it is possible to cheat and to win.
However what you see in videos (complete false shuffle or straight flush) is for magicians for me in order to do a demo, not to win.
The good cheater deals 1, 2 or 3 good cards for the right person at the right time. He does not do 4 bottom deals to have the 4 aces for him.
Don't forget they had to to this "under fire" and according to a video I saw few times times ago a top magician will be defeated by a third rank cheater.
By reading the book we can understand cheaters did not cheat sometimes because it was not possible.

Wym this is all beginner level stuff. You just need a deck and 20 min or so of focus. Focus is all that is required
