      Great interview!
But the Chinese investors including the pension funds and mfs are anti intuitive! Looks at India or US, they are invested in their markets and will do everything to prop up or support the market whether its the gov or the investors!
What's strange is in China, the investors don't want the market to be properly valued? is it to hurt the Chinese gov like they want to take revenge for what happen to Jack Ma, which I think was the right thing to do to stop the ant ipo!

Thank you for a great interview. I personally had the opportunity to work out of China between 04 to 08. There was a time everyone was talking about the stockmarket like people talked about the crypto market. During that time, some of my wealthier friend told me the stock market was quite corrupted, there was barely any regulation. In your honest opinion, what do you feel about their current stock market? Lets face it, even the American market, its full of market manipulation, insider trading and lack of regulation. The reason I ask is because I personally put some money in the Chinese mutual fund market near 20 years ago, I really haven't seen any gains.

Thank-you for interviewing Shaun. He is truly a dynamo and gem. What a breath of fresh air. I am truly dismayed that he has been boycotted by the likes of "Doomberg" and the WSJ. His comments merely confirm my impressions of China and fabricated distortions by the Western media. Additionally, having relatives in the field and on the ground gives me of a more genuine idea of the China situation. I checked Shaun's YT site. His teenage son is a "chip off the old block" and really prodigious.

I purchased a lot of NIO stick and made over 40 NIO RUclips videos from 2017 , when I first stepped into NIO’s first Flagship NIO House in Beijing. I rode NIO shares from under US $3.00 to $67.00 back to where it is today, $5.00.
I was hoping to buy a NIO EV in 2025 in the USA. I test drove a NIO ET5 in Beijing last July 2023. I know NIO will not be sold in the USA, under the Biden Regime. Maybe there’s a slight chance for BYD 比亚迪 via Mexico under WTO, but that channel seems to be cut. If not NIO, I want to purchase a Chinese made EV car in the USA.
Geely has a chance with its Volvo line, since it already has distribution channels in the USA. I can still buy a Chinese EV car, with Geely/Volvo some day. 蔚来加点!
I visit NIO Houses 蔚来中心whenever I go to China. Learn more about NIO:NEV 蔚来新功能汽车 ruclips.net/p/PLLNWkthyggM48Wb8GVltnHZ681Q_BP_QA

He complains about the 3month lockdown in Shanghai but he doesn’t explain how for all the rest of the time most people in China lived with basically no lockdown. The lockdowns were stricter in China but they were far shorter and far less damaging than in the west. He says they spent all their money on covid tests, how much does he think these tests cost? The US and UK were paying people’s wages for months and months. Sure there was nervousness straight after lockdown was lifted, I travelled at that time and tourist places had definitely been quite badly damaged but 6months to a year later and tourism is booming more than I’ve ever seen it. Traveling during holidays was always horrible, but now it’s horrible on weekends. From what I see the economy is back to pre covid, sure some people might be swapping out their Starbucks for luckin or their Porsche for Nio but that’s less to do with trying to save more money and more to do with people trying to support Chinese brands after seeing how Chinese companies are being treated by the west and the US in particular. They are also waking up to the fact that a Nio is just as good if not better than a Porsche so why not support a local brand and save some money to spend on eating out or traveling. Honestly this guy seems stuck in a Shanghai/western bubble and I couldn’t disagree more with his takes.

Great interview I really love all comparison and what are the trends in global economy. Also, While it's noteworthy that you've recognized NIO as a significant competitor to Tesla in the EV industry, it's essential to also acknowledge Xiaomi's entry into the EV market, including how they are approaching entrance in EV industry and already positioning them as fierce competitor. They are already build brand and already built distribution centers in the world not just China. Xiaomi to me is a serious player in EV industry now. Another topics that is missing her for discussion is TikTok and how this will influence geopolitics and economy between US-China. Overall really good interview and I enjoy a lot watching it.

    1. BYD sales have notabuly drpped in china along side of Tesla
    2. FSD 12.4 / Robtotaxi launch by Tesla is gamechanger tech
    3. Any new EV buyer will need to assess being complettely left behind if they opt not to buy a Tesla
    4. The tech pilots that begin Hangzhou, Bejing, Shanghai will shock people on how good and humanlike it really is
    5. President ZI visit to SF is recongition that America will achieve AGI well before China and he is big time worried 😮
    6. Apple although expensive is far superior product
The balance of all your other comments were very good, accurate and informative.

I grew more and more dissolution and cynical of our political process! Where Trump can appoint someone like Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon as advisors, former write Death by China, latter has in many occasions made I consider racist remark!
What about the latest debacle of Biden's economic advisor, Jared Berstein's almost Biden like Senior moment! Our leader are only as good as advisors they hire!
