notes from the video: 1. a daily routine shouldn't be your main focus - should focus on weekly habits as they're more dynamic - divide your year into chunks and focus on specific projects in specific chunks 2. productivity systems are supposed to change often - if our life situation changes, productivity systems can change too - ask yourself why you're switching your productivity system 3. working more hours actually decreases productivity eg. the 4 day workweek is better than the 5 day workweek - try compressing your tasks into less time (it will create a sense of urgency, you will learn how to delegate etc.) - try a compression experiment - work 1h or 0.5h less every day for a week 4. most productivity techniques don't take neurodiversity into account eg. pomodoro technique is very rigid - don't be afraid to change up things 5. taking longer breaks should be the rule and not the exception mariana's strategy: 15min break for 45min work, 30min break for 2h work, 1h break for the workday 6. complexity is your enemy - overcomplicating systems, trying out shiny new things is not good - you only need a calendar and a knowledge base 7. manipulating your brain can work wonders - motivation will fade; but you can manipulate your brain to not procrastinate eg. hiding your phone, having your water bottle nearby (gamifying your life) 8. enjoyment is at the core of all the things you do in life - responsible for more than 60% of the quality of your work - break the taboo of "enjoyment = laziness" 9. your "new year" can start in a different month - jan 1 is usually the worst day to start a habit (it's cold, right after the holidays, etc.) - create your own deadlines & adapt! 10. productivity is cyclical - planning feels good, actually working is harder and your motivation will start to fade, and then we start rebuilding our motivation bit by bit - accept your stage in the cycle
Being consistently productive can be difficult if you solely rely on motivation so I love that you give tips that don’t involve just being motivated. I’ll definitely give them a try ☺️💜
“99% of the harm is caused in your head, by you and your thoughts. 1% of the harm is caused by reality, what actually happens and the outcome. Most of the time, the problem isn’t the problem. The way you think about the problem is.”
I love your videos they maintain that professional tone but are still easy to understand. You’re such an amazing speaker and give great tips. you’re doing amazing!!!
Waking up early and I get to play video games for 20 minutes . Wow I need to try this. I won’t be pressing the snooze button if I know I’m missing out on video game time. Hope it works
*I have been experimenting and sharing about productivity on my youtube channel and I truly agree breaks are necessity to level up our productivity game*
Well Marianna, amazing video! Thanks for sharing the biggest lessons that you have learned about productivity, and thanks for the helpful tips on things to implement into my own schedule. Thanks also for the notion templates in the description!
Superb video Mariana! As a person recently diagnosed with ADHD (I'm 37!), many of these I've learned the hard way... Everyone should see this, I wonder if you changed the title you'd get more views - and I'd totally grab some of these topics and turn then into their own videos or case studies. 🥰
Your channel is perfect. However, one thing only you should improve which is the "Echo noise when you talk". There is plenty of sound systems that might reduce the echo sound
Obrigado pelas dicas!
