Instead of telling us what NOT to eat it would be useful to tell us WHAT we can eat. According to all the programs we better stop eating anything, because everything has their drawbacks. One says you can eat it and has benefits another says you should not eat it. All in all , all the advice given is absolutely very very confusing.

I really believe that that “key” to longevity with good health is to eat everything in moderation. Believe me it’s harder than it sounds because w all tend to consume more of what we like, but if one can master that principle a long, healthy and happy life takes place.

I eat cooked green bananas! I eat all of the other fruit except pineapple! I am also an older adult who is active. These fruit help to provide me with energy. I do not use any added sugar, also I am not diabetic or have hypertension....no medicine either!

Any fruits is not bad for senior as long as eatin in moderation and in variety. Like eat Several fruits for breakfast on small amount of each fruits. But it should be organic and fresh to avoid pesticude and preservatives.
Wrong as I've aged my body cannot Tollerate Citrus Fruit causing Me Heart Palpatatoins ended up affecting vagus nerve damage in one arm I don't touch Fruit at all now as am Pre diabetic I have improved greatly becoming Carniore
@Macaroni1479 yeah I was wrong but what I mean is for a normal senior with out any health issues in fruits. I am 67 and I can eat any fruits as long as I like the taste. Fruits help our skin stay young and fresh because it contain a lot of vitamins, fiber and antioxidant. Eating a variety of fruits in small content everyday with a low carb diet, and some 16/8 and 24 hrs fasting , regular regular exercise cardio and strength work out and good sleep get rid of my asthma, pneumonia, back pain, joint pain and hypertension. The only thing I still haven't fix is my allergy.. I started that lifestyle at the age of 62.

Pineapple is beneficial for seniors to help inflammation, so should be part of the diet.

Don't believe everything you see and read ! I'm 83, and eat bananas every day. It is worth noting the dangers of oxalates in uncooked kale and spinach. But cooked they're fine. Just nothing in excess. That should be the message not what's dangerous. Doctors aren't always good on dietary matters, as it's barely included in the curriculum.

The problem is the Medications a person takes rather than these 8 fruits. 13 months ago I had some blood tests done and there was a critical lab result that my potassium was too high and I could have heart failure. The next morning two police officers show up at my door saying I need to go to the emergency room. I never went and I never returned to my doctor. I'm NOT saying you should do the same as me. In my case I knew I was very healthy by doing weight training, bike riding, eating the right foods and getting the right amount of sleep. I'm 67 and building muscle and strength. My goal is to never see my doctor again.
This is simply scary . Should senior people be deprived of all these fruits they enjoy and relish?

Seems the fruits that are anti-inflammation SHOULD BE RECOMMENDED instead.
I think the bigger problem is the number of pills and medication they give the elderly, and some younger people too, that they cause most of the problems. Eat grapefruit instead of taking blood thinners is an example of that. My experience was my doctor had me taking analgesics, anti inflammatories and pain killers for years in high doses never once mentioning to me the side effects it would have on my body. After 20 years I found out and stopped taking them. I was furious. Have not been back to a doctor since. I Am now in my 75th year. Everyone has to make the choice for themselves. Friends around me are taking up to 20 tablets a day for this and that it is ridiculous.
Not all are right..some are nonsense..its better to consult with the doctor..
