  • @WesleyWenhold
    @WesleyWenhold 27 дней назад +1

    At work I use a heavy duty case, but outside of work I go without a case but I do have a screen protector and I use the ANDAR leather MagSafe wallet on my 15 pro and it adds some added grip to prevent slipping. And it’s an amazing feeling getting to see the phone the way it was designed. Plus I have Apple care and it’s only 30 bucks to replace the back glass or front glass so I have less worry while rocking it without a case.

    Thanks for stress testing. I would add that a case-less iPhone means that you are that case, should leave the device in a pocket. Not placing it around on ‘strange’ surfaces. It’s a lifestyle with degrees of implication for some.

    I’ve been caseless and screen protector-less for years now. My phone is the Xiaomi mi 11, I paid 975€ for it new. Screen protector was pre-applied but it took it off a couple of days into owning it. Phones feel SO much better with a case. I have no cracks in the screen. I have 3 small scratches you don’t see unless you’re looking for them. I have a some tiny cosmetic damaged on the metal around the phone, but they do not degrade the experience.

    I've pretty much always used the Apple leather case on my iPhones. Since they stopped making them with the 15, I switched back and forth between the Apple silicone case and an ESR clear case. I never really got comfortable with either one, and the silicone case is a dust magnet. So for the past few weeks I've been going careless on my 15 Pro and using my MagSafe wallet. it's been great, and the wallet give just enough of a barrier when placing it on a table. Plus, I have Apple Care, so that helped with the decision.

    I used a simple aluminum frame and a skin on the back for a while. It was as close to careless as I’ve tried yet. I did drop it a few times and everything was ok. I’ve been using a cheap silicone case I paid $7 for but it sticks to my pocket really bad. The frame has to be replaced every few months and I guess I could just buy a few at a time. The cost adds up though and I’m thinking about trying an aramid thin case next.

    iPhone 13 Pro user here. After 2.5 years no scratches either on display or back, except few tiny oleophobic ones like seen on yours. Until today when i finally managed to drop it from my hard on hard surface, a long thin scratch going from top to bottom:) But being caseless can be done. Just like Zollotech doesn't have a case for his everyday iPhone, saying heat retention and other things long-term affect it.
    Key: I always wear the phone in the pocket where i have nothing else solid, i always wear my keys and other smaller objects in left pocket, and my Iphone in the right pocket. People wear their phones together with other crap, this is the most common scratch creating environment after a while.

    Hi! I have used the iphone 15 pro and iphone 14 pro max without a case for a few months, I bought them both new a few months ago. I only use screen protector glass. I used to put them in the case right away, now not, the 14 pro max with its stainless steel frame sits better and safer in the hand, it is safe to hold in the hand and in the pocket, the iphone 15 pro has a silkier, smoother frame and is not as secure in the hand, but the pro is smaller , than the max, and because of that, it's easier to hold the smaller one more securely in the hand and also in the pockets, and I don't want to put them in the case anymore, I have different ones, and they all feel sticky, greasier under the fingers, than pure metal and glass. It remains to be seen what will happen next, maybe for a longer hike or a similar longer walk, I might change the cases for them, I haven't put them on yet, because using natural metals and glass feels much better and cleaner than a plain case. Any kind of scratches and dents on the frames, I wouldn't mind, I think maybe they decorate the phone instead, but I don't like scratches on the glass, that's why I use screen protectors. Thank you!

The only "damage" that is inflicted (as long as u dont drop it) is the oleophobic coating. Once gone it makes it easier to get fingerprints, dust etc settle on the screen unless you wipe it with a microfiber. Typically unless u drop ur phone or u work in an industry where the phone is prone to some form of physical abuse, they usually remain just fine.

    • @beegxxc9832
      @beegxxc9832 15 дней назад

      It’s not really about the glass being fragile. The reason why it broke so easily is because jerry applied a lot of force in two points of contact at the middle of the back. Titanum frame is very stiff, it does not allow the glass to „work” the stress as old aluminium frames did - frame doesn’t bend, the glass can’t flex as it’s held stiff all around… then it starts to crack.
      Good news is you’ll never get that much force pushing the glass in when you drop the phone. Actually most cracks appear as the frame is bent in so glass starts cracking from the corner of your device. In this case more ridgid frame is better.

    I always go caseless. However, I always use a thin screen protector so the screen wont get all scratched up.
    I dont spend 1300€ on a phone just to hide it under a thick case. I want to enjoy the design which is a big part of the flagship phone experience

    Never used cases on any smartphone and mobile phone ever, 20+ years. But for my 13 Pro Max i bought this beautiful purple leather case and now i don’t get it why you should‘nt use a (leather) case, it’s just so much easier to use and care. No glascanon and you don’t have to baby your phone all the time, leather feels better and i often just throw my phone on the couch.

    Caseless on a 14 Pro is doable. On a 15 Pro? Absolutely not. That back glass is too fragile and the new frame construction isn’t as protective. The solution is to never drop the phone and use a nice thick skin.

    Haha I got the iPhone 14 Pro when it released and have never used a case (I do use a screen protector tho). And I get that same comment all the time. People can't believe that I don't use cases. But hey man. I just like it that way.

    My 15 Pro has been going commando since I bought it in the beginning of December 2023. If you’re prone to drop your phone, get a case. If not, don’t. Everyone shares their concern about my caselessness. It’s dropped twice off my nightstand onto a hardwood floor. Two mico scratches. What will happen will happen. Whatever.

    Two words…Systematic Desensitization 😂😂😂
    I did a similar experiment with my 14 Pro and 14PM. I definitely had to change the way I handled the phone. It really messed with my muscle memory. I have very dry hands but after a month I got used to it and didn’t care as much but you lose out on so many comfortable ways to grip the phone. Especially nowadays where I do everything with it.
    It is a slippery son-of-a-gun. I have kids and so every now and then it would slip out of my home shorts cleaning up their toys.
    One day I was rushing and was trying to quickly get it from the kitchen island and it flew out of my hand and luckily landed on the other side where it was hard wood floor instead of the kitchen tiles. I slapped it back in my Nomad leather case and it never came out since then. 😩

    Yeah me personally I believe that iPhones are made for you to hold without any protection like hold it naked and raw. like it’s just something about the phone that makes it feel awesome.😂
    But yeah seriously I do understand if you are clumsy person yes if you think you’re comfy and don’t want to damage your phone you should get a case but otherwise you should at least try to hold your phone without a case and like get the feel of your phone just so you know what the phone feels like.

    imo they’re too expensive for the average consumer to justify not using a case. if my phone was a bit older, i might just for the sake of doing it, but not with one released within the last 3ish years.
    i haven’t ever broken a phone before and i know that’s in part due to the fact that i always have a case and screen protector. i’ve shattered some screen protectors and messed up a few cases, but that’s a $30 mistake at most. a lot easier to swallow than a multiple hundred dollar replacement or repair.

    I don’t have a case; I only have a screen protector to minimize superficial scratches to the display. I think AppleCare is the solution for someone who wants to ditch the case but frequently drops their iPhone. If you’re relatively cautious, you don’t even need AppleCare! It also comes down to having money. Since I have saved enough money to cover any emergency, I could easily replace my iPhone right now if it were to break or get stolen. That is the problem for most people. They hardly have any money in the bank and, therefore, are terrified of anything happening to their device.
