After trying all the troubleshooting advice from HP - I was directed to buying a new printer. ....I gave this a shot AND IT WORKED!!!! I fed a sheet of 8.5"x11" through the 'exit slot' into the side of the printer where it normally comes out. With the front door closed + power on, I pressed the 'i' button. The printer seemed to run a diagnostic where it rolled the paper into itself and then rolled it out + the cartridges slide over the paper a few times. Seemed to correct the problem and the printer started functioning normally again.
Had to comment and say that I just bought this printer, brand new and it was not functioning. The ink cartridge holder would not move and made a loud clicking noise. I read through the comments and was super frustrated so, I unplugged all chords and wiggle and tugged gently on the cartridge holder. Plugged it back up and It WORKS now.

Recently my DeskJet 3720 has started feeding paper in on the left side (as you look at the printer) only. I have checked for any paper jams (I cannot see any) have performed resets, checked the carriage for blockages, and even cleaned the rollers with cotton buds. The problem still occurs: as the paper feed starts, only the left side (the guide is in the right place) seems to feed, causing the paper to go in diagonally and jam. Any ideas please, or is it time to book in for a repair? Thankfully, it's still covered by a manufacturers warrantee.

I have made all the options indicated in the video and it continues to give an error. The error began to occur when I put some compatible cartridges, but even removing them, it still gives an error. Well I see nothing has changed with HP. I unpack this printer and got the E3 error RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! I was really hoping to use this printer as I travel the country in my truck, but failing right out of the box is NOT a good sign.

Mine doesnt want to print, showin e 3 error and blinking paper jam led. There is no paper jammed BUT some plastic rod under the ink carriage on the left is blocking it moving to the far left side... I dont know what is this rod used for and I cant figure out how to make it moving to unlock ink carriage... Could it be some sensor maybe ??

I just got the hp 3700 and it came jammed from the left side. I looked for anything in the way and it was a spring with a rubber that is built-in with the printer. How am I supposed to get rid of that? Edit: I never used the printer so there is no paper. It was shipped like this.

So I just bought this printer and printed like 40 pages the first day. I turned it off, and now I want to use it and keeps on telling me 'E3 error'. It doesn't have any paper jam, I've reinserted the cartridges twice, and nothing. This is frustrating.

My printer stopped working, because the color cartridge is empty. I have removed the color cartridge to activate single cartridge mode, but I still cannot print at all. It should print in black and white. I have asked in hp forum with so much info I can give, but no one comes with a good answer. There is one that wrote that it should be driver issue. I have removed all hp drivers/softwares and the printer from control panel and clean installed the printer & driver/software, it still does not fix the issue. I have bought my printer february 2022 so I sill should have warranty but on the HP home page it says that Warranty is expired. I have created a case but I have not received an answer yet. And I cannot finde any telephone number I can call to. I live in Denmark. This is utterly frustrating.

I am not impressed with this item, there is a black rubber flap that pops up from the bottom on the (L) side of the ink cartridge carrier, it causes a paper jam every time I try to print a document. Rarely do I ever catch it in its proper position (down) I am wasting tons of ink, paper and Avery Labels. SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ITEM.

I brought this about 2 months ago, but never tried to use it until today. The ink tray would not even move. Restarted the printer and the ink tray sounded like it was broken. This has printer has been shitty since day 1. It takes a while to print using bluetooth, printing quality is shit and now the ink's been blinking even though I've already installed a new cartridge. I seriously wasted money buying new cartridges because the service center here in Philippines is refusing to actually fix whatever the problem is on the printer. They always advice to buy a new ink because "its probably because oF tHe cArTrIdGe"

This is the worst printer i have ever owned, what a piece of absolute junk.. Why is there no paper guide in the filling tray? Its error after error in the paper feeding system. Hp used to be good, but after being mislead in the spec of a pre build system and then ignored when questioning it.. this printer was the last drip that flooded the bucket. Piece of Garbage. Always giving errors, E3 error, got it to work. Now bought new color from hp and the garbage printer tells me there is no color , its empty. 24€ for new color is much money and even more when it dosnt work. Mine doesnt want to print, showin e 3 error and blinking paper jam led. There is no paper jammed BUT some plastic rod under the ink carriage on the left is blocking it moving to the far left side... I dont know what is this rod used for and I cant figure out how to make it moving to unlock ink carriage... Could it be some sensor maybe ??

I just got the hp 3700 and it came jammed from the left side. I looked for anything in the way and it was a spring with a rubber that is built-in with the printer. How am I supposed to get rid of that? Edit: I never used the printer so there is no paper. It was shipped like this.

I have only had my printer a month and in that time I have gone through 3 sets of ink cartridges. Now there is a flashing light and it is saying there is a problem with the cartridges. It wont print at all anymore and II have taken all the steps with no luck. Thanks.

My printer stopped working, because the color cartridge is empty. I have removed the color cartridge to activate single cartridge mode, but I still cannot print at all. It should print in black and white. I have asked in hp forum with so much info I can give, but no one comes with a good answer. There is one that wrote that it should be driver issue. I have removed all hp drivers/softwares and the printer from control panel and clean installed the printer & driver/software, it still does not fix the issue. I have bought my printer february 2022 so I sill should have warranty but on the HP home page it says that Warranty is expired. I have created a case but I have not received an answer yet. And I cannot finde any telephone number I can call to. I live in Denmark. This is utterly frustrating.

I am not impressed with this item, there is a black rubber flap that pops up from the bottom on the (L) side of the ink cartridge carrier, it causes a paper jam every time I try to print a document. Rarely do I ever catch it in its proper position (down) I am wasting tons of ink, paper and Avery Labels. SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ITEM.

This has printer has been shitty since day 1. It takes a while to print using bluetooth, printing quality is shit and now the ink's been blinking even though I've already installed a new cartridge. This is the worst printer i have ever owned, what a piece of absolute junk.. Why is there no paper guide in the filling tray? Its error after error in the paper feeding system.
