Maryam Khan ikr! I’m not a graphic design major either lol but I love hearing her talk, especially about something she is passionate about. I just love the general vibe of her videos.
I love it when you make videos talking about graphic design!! I'm about to go to college and I was really struggling because I wasn't really sure about whether I should or I shouldn't study graphic design but then I started watching your videos and I was completely sold!! The fact that you talk about it with so much passion makes me feel really excited to start studying it as well!
You should try Astropad if you haven't already! It's an app that wirelessly connects your iPad Pro to your MacBook and mirrors your computer screen so you can draw directly into the computer from your iPad. I like it so much better than a Wacom as I can actually see where/what I'm drawing! x
I am in Applied Media course at College. Its a prep year to feed into Photography, Videography or Graphic Design. So I get to try it all out. I just got an iPad Pro 12.9 (used) for school. OMG life changer for artists. Love your videos. Binge watching. Going into Graphic Design for next 2 years of school.
I have watched some of your videos from your sophomore year when you posted them back then. They have helped me to strengthen my decision to pursue a graphic design degree and now finally this January I get to start. Keep the content coming. I really enjoy it :)
Prismacolor markers are everything!! Last year I graduated from grade 12 and as my first and only act of rebellion I stole one of those markers from my art room lol...
Can you please film a video about college (maybe a college day in the life) or about being a design student? I would love to go into design someday 🧡 Also, where do you attend school? Or where are good schools for design?
Might be a silly question.. after you graduate and no longer have access to the nice printers from your graphic design class, where do you go to print out your projects? I've printed non art related items from kinko and officemax before and they don't always turn out well... Where do you go for print jobs? Thanks!
Yes! I totally needed this video! I’m currently in school for graphic design. I love you work. I go to a community college and our work doesn’t compare to yours! I’m jealous that you got to take a marker class! That would be amazing.
This is so interesting! I am in a design major too, not graphic design, but I think it's crazy because we pretty much use the same supplies. I've come to notice, now being in my second year of college, that the design world, despite how large it is, uses similar processes when creating and presenting designs. To me that is really cool.
So many of the things on your list I use pretty much every day in my design classes! One thing I would add is I've found grid/graph paper can be super helpful when sketching logos/wireframes. Everyone has a different process though which is neat.
I'd love to see you film this video again now, looking back at this and just see how things have changed and what would you recommend now that you've graduated!
I know in a super old video you mentioned you joined DG, and although I don’t know if you’re still involved with the sorority you inspire me so much as a active Delta Gamma who is pursuing graphic design! I love this video and I hope you do more design videos in the future
I don’t know what it is about you or your videos, but everytime I watch them I just get in this really chill but inspired mood. I just get happy haha❤️ that’s probably why you are my favourite youtuber out there :) also this was the video we all needed, loved it
ahhh I love this so much!! I wanted to go to school for graphic designing but I was peer pressured into not doing it and I regret it all the time. I love all your work and I'm constantly thinking if I have time and if it's something I could still do so thank you for inspiring that back into me!!
omg yes i love your graphic design videos bc im a graphic design major too :-) i just discovered the magic of bone folders in type 1 but now im definitely getting one of those mini rulers too... and a light board... and maybe an ipad pro... lol
I’ve been waiting so long for this video!!! I’m in the middle of my Graphic Design major and I’ve been thinking about getting the iPad Pro... although I’m not much into lettering or illustration. Could maybe do an in-depth video about the iPad Pro? Pros and cons for Graphic Design students?
I'm a Graphic design student as well... I study in Switzerland & we're lucky the goverment pays almost everything but they only accept 18 students per year. It's kinda like a scholar. Now in 2nd year, don't think Graphic design is for me 😕 My plan is to change my major when I go to UNI. Probably product design or interior. AND YES WACOM/ANY TABLETS are really great!
I love your videos they are very cool! just want to recommend to you, the promarkers from winston and newton are way better when it comes to filling out letters, shapes or want to get a degradation , they integrate so beautifull , without leaving any lines or white spots to fill in! They are a little bit more pricy but definitley worth it! keep up the great videos !
Awesome video! I’m in graphic design, you should do a video going into more detail about your iPad. Like the apps you like best, that would be awesome!!
you're sooo amazing and inspiring i have no words to explain it but every time i watch your videos my days become more brighter and that means a lot to me ,, also i've been having a hard time deciding what i want to study and what i want to major in and this helped a lot so thank you linds! keep doing you
Thank you so much for this video!! I do graphic design at school and I've heard so much from the Ipad pro I want to buy one but not in my budget at the moment :((
thank u for this vid, lindsey. i'm really into graphic design now, and i have a short photoshop class next month :) also i bought a wacom tablet, thinking i would learn to do handlettering but now i lost motivation and don't know what to do with it :/
What program do you use on your ipad pro that turns your physical design into a digital one?? Did you just take a photo of it then go from there? And is it photoshop?
I really don't get why this is necessary for every graphic designer I've seen to do. I have done my research as what personality traits and what cute art supplies are needed for a graphic designer. That's all fine and dandy. But i have felt lost for for a long time as that's all I have been finding, either that or "buy this really expensive program to start practicing your design skills when you are already on the brink of being drowned by student loan debt" or "just buy these cute art tools and go to a college that will not accept people without an expensively made portfolio". It's the equivalent of if I asked how I should file taxes for the first time with very little prior knowledge as to managing finances only to the response of "just be patient, and youll get it eventually". I have no portfolio, no college degree, no money. Do you have any advice?
basic online tutorials online can you teach you Adobe programs! I am not a professor so that's not the kind of videos I'm here to make, that's why I just showed supplies since I get asked about them
So I'm just getting into graphic design, and I cannot afford and iPad Pro, I just bought a MacBook Air and have a regular iPad so I thought about getting a tablet. Would you say the work you do is possible on a tablet and it would just be harder? If anyone could help with his it would be awesome!
I love this! I personally fangirl whenever yo talk about graphic design since that's what I want to major in. I have both the ipad Pro and the apple pencil but I'm not sure what is the best app/software to use with it for design. Which one do you use Lindsey?
funny story...when i was still working at my Art collage and I used the job i had there X-acto knife... so I return it to my co-worker, he had a questionable look on his face and asked "do I need to help you barry the body?" because I don't normally take the X-acto knife and hand it back like I did lol
Prismacolour vs. Copic? Do think one is better over the other? Also, what case do you have on your iPad that holds the Apple Pencil?? I loveddddd this video!
I am graphic design student and I have a laptop so I am thinking of buying ipad pro2021 is going to be helpful or I don’t need it?😩 I am thinking of this for a long time and I don’t know if I go for it or no
I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO FILM AS MANY VIDEOS AS POSSIBLE ABOUT COLLEGE, GRAPHIC DESIGN, ART AND THE LIKE. PLEASE PLEASE DO.
I'm a linguistics major and I can't draw a straight line but I just watched 13 minutes of you discuss supplies because I love you THAT much
Maryam Khan ikr! I’m not a graphic design major either lol but I love hearing her talk, especially about something she is passionate about. I just love the general vibe of her videos.
Yesss! I'm a mathematician, but I'm always down for pens and a good eye makeup
I make handmade cards with rubber cards. I have all of these tools. Yes her presentation holds your attention.
Would loooooove a video all about the iPad Pro, such as the apps you use to make your designs 👀
god bless
lindsey talking about her art & supplies is weirdly soothing
I love it when you make videos talking about graphic design!! I'm about to go to college and I was really struggling because I wasn't really sure about whether I should or I shouldn't study graphic design but then I started watching your videos and I was completely sold!! My mom is a graphic designer too and I remember using her prisma colors when I was like 4 and they still work beautifully 17 years later lol
Maybe she bought a new one lol hahaha
정명은 nope same pens, she just takes care of them
Omg same! My mom has some from her graphic design school in the 80s and they still work 30 years later
thanks
for making the world a softer place
please please please make more art videos!
I am in Applied Media course at College. Its a prep year to feed into Photography, Videography or Graphic Design. So I get to try it all out. I just got an iPad Pro 12.9 (used) for school. I'm studying graphic design and watching u talk about it is awesome! You are my graphic design role model! ❤️❤️❤️
This is so interesting! I am in a design major too, not graphic design, but I think it's crazy because we pretty much use the same supplies. I've come to notice, now being in my second year of college, that the design world, despite how large it is, uses similar processes when creating and presenting designs. To me that is really cool.
I love how you can tell how passionate you are about design!! Thanks, this was really helpful
OH YEAH. My kind of video! With my kind of gal! 💛⭐️💫
I'm majoring in graphic design starting fall next year and this/all of your gd related vids are so helpful and seriously get me so excited 💓
Omg I thrifted a top just like the one you’re wearing! So crazy!! Please do a thrift haul some time! that would make my day 😍
So many of the things on your list I use pretty much every day in my design classes! One thing I would add is I've found grid/graph paper can be super helpful when sketching logos/wireframes. Everyone has a different process though which is neat.
I'd love to see you film this video again now, looking back at this and just see how things have changed and what would you recommend now that you've graduated!
Awww you seem so happy to be speaking on this subject
Can you do a video on like how to make it in the graphic design career field?
I know in a super old video you mentioned you joined DG, and although I don’t know if you’re still involved with the sorority you inspire me so much as a active Delta Gamma who is pursuing graphic design! I love this video and I hope you do more design videos in the future
The iPad Pro is the best art purchase I’ve made. I’m in love with it
I'm a Digital Media student and I'm sooooo glad my school gave us all our art supplies for free! 😭💫 white gel pens are crucial too lol

That's super awesome! Where do you attend?

Honestly all you need is a computer/laptop, a drawing tablet and a subscription to Adobe Suite.
Do you know if colleges provide the essentials/supplies you showed?

hey! do you prefer prismacolor markers over copics? i'd like to invest on some but i don't know which are better

Hey lindsey, how many GB did you get for your iPad Pro?
I enjoyed this ❤️ u should make more videos like this

funny story...when i was still working at my Art collage and I used the job i had there X-acto knife... so I return it to my co-worker, he had a questionable look on his face and asked "do I need to help you barry the body?" because I don't normally take the X-acto knife and hand it back like I did lol

Loved this video and your personality hope you do more art projects in the future. :)
What app do you use on your iPad to make the designs ? Xx💜
Prismacolour vs. Copic? Do think one is better over the other? Also, what case do you have on your iPad that holds the Apple Pencil?? I loveddddd this video!
I’m just used to Prismacolor and they’re less expensive! got the case at the Apple store!
Omg THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! because , i'm also majoring in graphic design too. :)
You are such an inspiration to me!!!! Thank you 💗
I am graphic design student and I have a laptop so I am thinking of buying ipad pro2021 is going to be helpful or I don’t need it?😩 I am thinking of this for a long time and I don’t know if I go for it or no
You make me want to pursue art. And I don't even draw or anything in general.
how do the prismacolor markers compare to copics ?
Copics are more expensive, I haven’t used them but they’re comparable!
What program do you use on the ipad that allows you to scale like that?
Your graphic design videos are my favorite btw i love your makeup like a lot ❤️😂
You're so pretty and talented!
What applications do you use on the iPad Pro for illustrating?
I CAN NOT find your design insta could you link it?
I can't believe I went though 4 years of multimedia design without knowing that those traicing lightboards existed!
