    The American Vintage series introduces an all-new lineup of original-era model year guitars that bring Fender history and heritage to authentic and exciting new life. With key features and pivotal design elements spanning the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, new American Vintage series instruments delve deep into Fender's roots--expertly preserving an innova-tive U.S. guitar-making legacy and vividly demon-strating like never before that Fender not only knows where it's going, but also remembers where it came from.The American Vintage Series has long presented some of Fender's best selling guitars (their early-'80s introduction, in fact, was one of the first signs that Fender was "back" as the CBS era ended). Today, Fender has boldly cleared the slate to make way for a fresh American Vintage series with new features, new specs and the most meticulous level of vintage accuracy yet. Rather than just replacing the previous models with different ones, we've completely and comprehensively re-imagined the entire vintage-reis-sue concept--restoring original tooling dies, voicing new pickups, reformulating vintage colors and more--based on actual vintage guitars we tracked down to make sure we had it right. We did the work, and it shows, because there's pure tonal magic in each new American Vintage instrument.
    1959 was an important and highly evolutionary year for the Stratocaster because that's when slimmer necks, rosewood fingerboards and multi-ply laminated pickguards first appeared.
    The American Vintage '59 Stratocaster presents two versions of that year's pivotal transitional model; one from early 1959 and one from later 1959. Both have the slim-profile D-shaped maple neck of that year, with the earlier version featuring a maple fingerboard, faded Three-color Sunburst finish and single-ply white pickguard with eight holes; the later version (in faded Three-color Sunburst, Black and limited faded Sonic Blue finishes) featuring a dark rosewood slab fingerboard and three-ply mint green pickguard with 10 holes and vintage-style edge bevels. Both also feature a lightweight alder body, aged plastic knobs and vintage-accurate pickups, bridge saddles, tuner spacing and more. .

    Just took delivery on a new '65 American Vintage reissue Strat from Dave at N'Stuff Music. Amazingly accurate recreation that goes from warm to snarl with the twist of the volume. Impeccable finish and detail work in this guitar. Solid deal with real musicians there, and they were good to their word on a minor after-the-sale issue that was addressed immediately and resolved. Done with big box stores now, this guitar and the down to earth people are awesome.

    nice demo with great playing, but man, use the same amp next time ! The 59 sounds SO much better in your demo, and having spent a lot of time with both models, the difference is nowhere near as big as in this demo. In real life its not a matter of better or worse, though I still prefer the 59, but hot rods sound so inorganic compared to the DRRI.. . This is an unfair comparisson, so unless you're looking to sell way more 59's this is not the way to go :)

  • @JRCGuitarist

    I don't see the issue with the amp that was used for the 65. The guitar sounds amazing with it. I preferred the sound of 65 over 59 with the amp that was used anyway. So as far as I'm concerned, he sold it for me.

  • @bigdaddystinkeye
    @bigdaddystinkeye 10 лет назад +1

    Great playing but I'm digging the sound of the '59 the most. More Straty-quacky. Are these pickups a bit underwound? Maybe it's just the players and their rigs? Also, I'm wondering what the heck Fender's description of neck profiles mean. The '59 has a slim D? How slim? That's the guitar I like the sound of best but I hate skinny necks. I wish my local stores carried these models so I could check 'em out.

    • @javiceres
      @javiceres 10 лет назад +1

      I used to have a gorgeous American Vintage 62 Reissue Strat that I had to sold because the neck was way too thin for me (and the 7'25" radius of the fretboard was utterly useless IMO).
      The 62 is supposed to have a medium C profile.

  • @samklein9639
    @samklein9639 12 лет назад

    Great playing! Quick question about the 59 Strat, is the neck profile really a "slim" D? Basically, how is it compared lets say to a John Mayer Strat or a 62 because I like usually a thick C shape neck? I still haven't played one of these yet so, yeah :) thanks for your help.

    There is something not right with the sound of the 65 guitar, the guitar could be out of tune or poorly made, sound's awful, but you can clearly see they can both play guitar

    • @rodolphep0nthus555
      @rodolphep0nthus555 Год назад

      It's not the guitar that's not in tune, it's because of Mark Lucas's playing. He constantly plays "out", he rides around the target notes without really reaching them often. I find it's a cool technique if you use it lightly. Mark overdoes it quite a bit, and the problem is that it gets tiring for the listener. When you are an accomplished musician and are aware of what he's doing, you understand what's happening and why it sounds this way. For the inexperienced I feel it can sem he just is off, or something is wrong with the trembar, or the whole guitar is elastic😅
      Mark is a fabulous player, but he should, in my opinion, do less "out" tricks. The other guy does it a bit, but much less, and it appears to be much more "musical"
      So, it's not the guitar..
