    For 2014 only, Fender celebrates the diamond jubilee of the world's greatest electric guitar with the limited-edition 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster. This special guitar honors the Stratocaster's very first model year as an "exciting new instrument" with a tone "as new and different as tomorrow," and is reverently crafted with a rich selection of features, appointments and accessories.
    The two-piece ash body features a side seam and a flash-coat lacquer finish in the guitar's original 2-Color Sunburst. The one-piece maple neck has a comfortable 1954 profile and date stamp just below the truss rod adjustment nut, topped by a 7.25"-radius fingerboard with rolled edges and 21 vintage frets. Three new 1954 single-coil Stratocaster pickups deliver a singing original-era voice, with five-way switching complemented by an included optional three-way switch for original wiring. The guitar also features a single-ply white pickguard and white polystyrene control knobs, bone nut and round string tree, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge with six "patent pending" saddles, vintage tuners and nickel-chrome hardware.
    Special extras and accessories include a vintage-design single-stitch center-pocket tweed case; replica polishing cloth, cable, black leather strap and bridge cover; extra tremolo springs (two), and reproduction 1954 paperwork. Each guitar will come with a 1954 Anniversary Strat Certificate and the first 54 of the run will feature a special 60th anniversary "1st 54" engraved neck plate. Available only during 2014 in a limited edition of 1,954 guitars. .

    I own and play one of the 1954 copy's of these. Amazing axe, my best Strat ever !
    Those pickups are great, the most Strat sounding I ever had. Dit put em in another one of my Strats as well. And yes; that's all a matter of taste ;-)

    That guitar has a U-Shape neck. U-Shape necks were only used on the '54 and '55 Stratocasters. I just got one of these today, and I love it. I wish I heard of this guitar back in 2014.

    Hi Mr Lucas. You have been an inspiration to me even before that brick wall was fixed ( behind you). I could not afford a USA 54 RI but I managed to hunt down a MIJ 54. The neck profile is simply superb. The playability is exceptional. You are a fantastic musician, not just a guitarist.

    Really nice! Can´t decide between an Eric Johnson Stratocaster and this one. Both really nice guitars. Decisions, decisions...

      +Bosse Ignell Which one did you end up going for?

    • @MrBossei
      @MrBossei 8 лет назад

      +Daniel Estrellado Eric Johnson Stratocaster. It has a flatter radius and that means it's easier to play than this one with a more curved radius. But the Eric Johnson is too expensive new I think so I bought a used one.

    Would I be able to pass it off as a real vintage 54 if I relic it a bit?

    • @Nightshade1881
      @Nightshade1881 4 года назад

      I honestly do believe this will age just like a Real 54 does. My copy is already slightly beat up. But you would have to play it for years and years, I wouldn’t try and relic it on purpose tho

    Really nice!! I've buy the 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster Pickups for my Stratocaster (an Eagletone, my first guitar: I am upgrading it) The sound was really clear and really good. With my Floyd Rose, it's perfect! The neck pickup is very perfect to play like Knopfler.
    For the vidéo, I've a question: what is the music who was played in 7:09 ? I like this!!!
    (Sorry for my english, I'm french ^^' )

    I love the 65 from the new Vintage Series with the Rosewood fretboard :-)
    When you were talking about a lighter guitar pushing more sound out of it does that mean those Gibson 59 LP Re-Issues at 9lb + or - doesn't sound as good as the 8lb ones?
    Have you had the chance to play a 2013 Gibson 59 Re-Issue LP? Does the VOS model have any effect on the sound of the guitar? I noticed your online competitor MF has a 50 Re-Issue for 3999 w/o PUP covers & a 50 RI in Page 80 Burst for 4999.00 I think they norm. go for $6200

      @hawg427 9 лет назад +1

      Stephen Morgan Stephen, what does your R9 weigh?

    • @StephenMorganCanada
      @StephenMorganCanada 9 лет назад

      8 lbs dead even. It and an old Tokai Love rock at 8.1 are/were the most alive sounding Les Paul's I ever played. Both solid, no weight relief holes. I recently can across a LP reissue at under 8 lbs. wish it was local as I'd love to try it. Others I had were in the 9+ range and outside of a Custom I happily let them all go. That one I had to let go unhappily.

    Strat has bright sound right?

    • @colinwhite9529
      @colinwhite9529 5 лет назад

      alnico 3 magnets, which were used on the earliest strat pickups, are characterized as having a 'warmer' sound than the alnico 5s, which replaced them a few years later.

    • @scottyvalero3691
      @scottyvalero3691 4 года назад

      I have this instrument, and I can vouch for the warmth of it. It sounds very crisp and clear, but it is warm and not piercing like most Strats

      very easy to play, and with the right string gauge is very simple to bend.

  • @saleen1981

    Why can't you get a vintage neck from Fender? Why don't they make the old boat necks? A faithful recreation... why not have the exact same neck profile? I don't understand that.
