James Best was an excellent actor! I was a kid and didn't realize he had done so much prior to Dukes, but enjoyed recognizing him in old Westerns I watched with my grandpa. He made a new Killer Shrews movie I want to see but can't find.

@@littlejoe9381 Now THAT was shocking to me. Rosco was "bad" but had a heart and was funny. To see James Best play truly bad characters with no redeeming qualities was really weird to me. Turns out that's the type of characters he played for many years. He was indeed a good actor because he apparently was a very sweet man. I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet him.

Good Morning John! You make my day with these videos! I’ve mentioned that I have been watching the DVDs of the DOH show and it’s been bringing back so many wonderful childhood memories. My sisters, brother and I used to watch it together. It was a show that our parents didn’t have any issues letting us watch! We even had CBs back then and used to have a great time talking as we went back and forth from home to our cabin. I always wished that I was older so that I could have a vehicle and a CB of my own. I’m the youngest of seven and there’s 17 years between my oldest sister and I, yet we still had the love for the show in common! Thank you John for taking the time for us fans! You’re so busy, so I think it’s awesome that you do these videos! God bless and take care! 🙂

The Ghost of General Lee was an amazing display of acting talent by James Best... I don't know if he won an Oscar for it but he sure should have... I've seen that episode a Gazillion times, and I still tear up with Rosco's performance... He made ya feel like it really happened that the General Lee went into the pond and noone came up... And then he had to tell Uncle Jessie... And then the smile on his face when he finally figured out the Duke boys were still alive... I think I tear up more now than I did when it first aired...But, I was a kid then...If I was the one passing out Oscar's, he would have got one...

That scene where James Best tells Denver Pyle that the boys had “drowned”; that acting of those two veterans gives me chills to this day. And as far as the rattlesnake? John just wanted to thank you again. I love the fact that you take time out of your day to give all us fans great factoids of the Dukes of Hazard. The one thing that I would like to share with everyone... And not to stir up a hornet's nest... Is you can't rewrite history. I really feel that one of our most iconic movie cars, the General Lee, owes nobody an apology. Im so sick and tired of people, close minded, trying to rewrite history books. The Confederate flag is a symbol of "the south" and I'm not sure at what point it became something different. As a 4 year Veteran of the United States Marine Corps I am really, extremely dissapointed with our acting commandant when it comes to his views on what can be displayed in a barracks. This is a great country... History is history. Learn from it... Don't change it. As a New Englander growing up watching the Dukes of Hazard, and that proud car that represents America, I loved what it stood for. You can't change the Civil War... It happened! Yes, there was a Jesse James. Yes, there was a wounded knee... And a Gold Rush... Sitting Bull yes he really existed! Our history since 1776, wether good or bad, no Irish need apply, is our history. So for all you do-gooders out there that just want to pretend like our history didn't happen to make yourselves feel good... Just stop. Side note... Look up General Lees autobiography. I'm tired of the judgemental agenda. #GeneralLee1969

Hi John this is not a question about the Dukes of Hazard but I loved you in that show my question is what did you think about Elvis Presley did you ever like him or like his singing. I do he's still my number one Mr Songman nobody sung Gosple songs like him. You're a great singer to keep your faith in God as I do I'm sure it will never lead you wrong. God bless you. What did you think about Elvis Presley????

I got a good question for you about the Dukes. Why did Daisy's Roadrunner change from a 73-74 model to a 71-72? Also why did production choose the Jeep as opposed to the Roadrunner? I personally loved the Roadrunner more than the Jeep. It was basically the "back up" muscle car for Bo and Luke.

A girl's gotta have a Jeep and a muscle car! We need both, one to play in mud and run offroad and one to hammer down on!

@@AlyRaeKY Ironically the original owner of my 79 Bandit Trans Am was a lady. Now if I can find one who loves muscle cars. LOL Thank you for your comment.
