  • Since this was never actually written I can only give you my take on it. I did actually write a screenplay about the subject years ago but Warners wasn't interested.

“The Duke Family had been in the Whiskey Business, 50 years before The Declaration of Independence. They fought everyone from the British, to the Confederacy, to the US Government to stay in it. Until last year when Bo and Luke got caught on a Whiskey Run. So Jessie swallowed a lifetime of pride and signed a treaty to stop making Whiskey if Bo and Luke could get probation. You see, he loved them boys better than life itself, but sometimes they really made him wonder why.”

I would like to see this be one of your future movies John, the real beginning to the Dukes of Hazzard.

The Dukes were very important part of my childhood. My best friends and I, imagined we were the Dukes, well I was Cooter because my Dad owned a full service gas station. My friend David was "Bo", Kevin was "Luke" and Sharon was "Daisy" We had lunch tickets at our school, and the lady in charge of that, would write our character names in quotations between our first and last names on our lunch tickets. She would always call us by our character names. It was special for us. At recess we played as The Dukes. I like this family tree explanation. Loyal Fan since day 1 and will remain one forever

I believe in one episode I heard Uncle Jesse make mention about all parents being dead but I never heard how all 3 were related to Uncle Jesse. Thank you for adding a beginning to the story line. Love you guys to the moon and back

Episode “Follow That Still” Jesse is talkin to Hard Luck Jones inside the portable still Hard Luck says to Jessie when your Misses passed on, then Jesse says you made the shine for the wake.

Gy Waldron addressed this I think on one of the dvds. He simply says that "their parents are killed in a automobile accident, and they are sent to Uncle Jesse".

There was an episode where it mentions Uncle Jesse was married and his wife died. I always understood him to have 5 siblings. (that would explain "Coy" and "Vance").

Sounds perfect. If only you could have been the director in 2005 for the movie🧐. They could have used the original cast to pass the torch on and tell a wonderful family story. It would have been good for a trilogy of new movies. The Dukes TV series is as American as apple pie. Some of us in small town America still live in Hazzard, in our hearts.✌️

I've been on a show watching binge of Smallville for the past few months. I never watched the show before but wow it's a really GOOD show. Is everything John Schneider touches turn into gold?

John, I’m a lifelong Louisianan and I have met a lot of famous people in my years but I’ve never been quite as starstruck as when I met my childhood heroes at the Dukes of Hazzard reunion back in 2013

I like it, however I also have to consider Vance and coy. With that being said, it seems like everyone sends Uncle Jessie their kids to Him for a summer "straightening out" session.

Mr. Schneider, I would like to say thank you to you and your cast mates for giving me a wholesome, funny, exciting, and entertaining show to watch when I was a kid. Trust me when I say that I would never miss a show. Daisy Duke was my first celebrity crush when I was 5 or 6 years old! Lol. She is still one of the most beautiful women in history. The dynamic of the shows characters made the show believable to a young person watching. You could believe that Bo, Luke, Daisy, and Uncle Jesse were family and that they all loved each other.
