Hey John, Thanks for the info. I am just old enough to have watched the dukes when it original aired. Yesterday I just watched the last episode, the one you wrote and directed. Everyday I start my day off with 1 or 2 episodes of the Dukes. I have successfully watched the entire series 5 times in a row. I try watching other shows in the morning but none of them have the same feel as the Dukes.
Along time a go I got captivated by the license plates the camera would catch in every episode. Very few shows would ever do that. So I started writing them down with a description of the vehicle they went with and I am amazed at how many there was.
By my count there were 201 plates that got captured by the camera.

Full View. I still have some of his autographed pictures, two on the wall. He cared about his fans. One time they offered a poster of him for 5.00. I sent the five dollars and asked them to send me an 8 by 10. I was a little old to have a big poster. A few weeks passed then I received 8 8X10s in the mail. I still have some of them and gave a couple to other fans. We just love him here. He has always been a straight up guy. Not many like him.

John, you seriously need to be cast on the upcoming season of Stranger Things. The Dukes were quintessential 80s, and coincidentally, most of ST's principal photography (the fictional town of Hawkins, IN) is filmed just down the highway from the original Hazzard (Covington, GA). Hey, you're from Atlanta, right? You already know the area. We need to start an internet movement to get you cast.

Hi John, I live in Santa Clarita and there is a hiking trail open to the public that intersects with the Dukes set! Its really a lot smaller than I imagined and interesting the hikers have no idea the magic that was captured there. Many of the roads are gone but the land is there and the straight stretch of road beginning with the Boars Nest to the big tree where many jumps took place is there. It would be awesome if you ever come out west to give a group tour of the location and exactly where everything was and memories that come up!

Hey John, I agree about the 2006 redo of dukes of hazzard. They way they changed each character for a cheap laugh was brutal. Especially they way they made Uncle Jesse raunchy and completely suxualized Daisy. Changed the entire feel of the program. Your cast was and always will be the actual Duke family. This is not so,much as a question as it is a thank you! This is why.....I was with my kids dad and we had our first baby in 1995. When,he turned 2yrs old,his uncle on his dad's side took a huge interest in him. After, his uncle's work was over he would come and get my son and they would watch your show on VHS,for hrs. They became glued to each other. It was great! Then,on a Saturday morning he (my son) everyone heard a gun shot. He took his own life. My son was devastated. That's what my son remembered through the YEARS. Until I found him with a gun shot to the head. My youngest son was just like my oldest son LOST. He talks about The Dukes of Hazzard, too! Now,he has all your tapes. 3 mths b4 that I lost my dad to cancer, after caring for him him for 6yrs. My dad's mom hung herself and my dad found her. Depression is very real. With you talking to fans is a GREAT thing! This is a hard time for EVERYONE,so don't STOP what your doing! Thank you,AGAIN! Best Wishes and stay safe😢

I remember watching "the Dukes go to Hollywood" and when it was over I wondered what I could have ever liked about the TV show. During the last three seasons of the Dukes I was unable to watch on a regular basis due to my being my being in prison, she called it marriage I called it prison LOLOL. So when that movie came out I had sort of forgotten the "real" Dukes family and the movie just really more annoyed me than anything. The 2006 movie was beyond disgusting, I had heard that several of the original cast members were not happy with it and "Cooter" was really, REALLY outspoken about how terrible it was. I watched it when it came out on video and wow was I ever disappointed and disgusted. The way they had Daisy and Uncle Jesse really annoyed me especially, Daisy was basically the town tramp and Jesse was just a stoner as far as I was concerned with the way the movie made them out to be. Roscoe was mean and nasty, Boss Hogg (played by Burt Reynolds) was actually not too bad. Bo and Luke were idiots who seemed to hate each other more than have one another's back. The one thing that the writers and producers of that movie, and even the Hollywood one, seemed to not be able to understand and could not get into contact with was the charm of the Dukes of Hazzard TV show, and that charm was simply this - LOVE. On the TV show Bo and Luke loved Daisy, on the 2006 movie it seemed they wanted "to do" Daisy if you know what I mean. Which to be honest I am surprised they did not actually more allude to, cause ya know down south we all do our cousins hyuck hyuck.
The TV show may have pitted Boss Hogg and Roscoe against the Dukes every week, but there was still a love even between them, especially Roscoe. I remember the episodes where Bo and Luke "died" and that touching moment when Uncle Jesse was told that they had died in the pond. The look on Roscoe's face and the way he and Jesse sat at that table, even Boss Hogg seemed ready to be willing to give up all he owned to have them back. The movie versions would have played that as Roscoe and JD being overjoyed that they were dead.
I know it's expensive and I know that it might not do so well in today's world, but darnit John Schneider I wish YOU and your studio would make a new Dukes of Hazzard TV show but put it on RUclips or even on Netflix. Maybe your studios could actually have their own channel, or use this one, and present weekly episodes like they do with those fan created Star Trek movies. Sure at first they might not get much attention, but with you in charge and your connection to the show I think it would become a hit, with the right cast members and of course the right scripts. One idea I had for a TV show of the Dukes was a sort of now and then type of a theme. At the beginning of each episode You and Tom Wopat could be your older... I mean more life experienced selves and have your own boys find themselves in a situation that reminds you two of when you were younger and then you start talking about that and the cameras slowly fade out to the now younger Bo and Luke and the adventure the older Bo and Luke are talking about. This way the fans of the older show would tune in because of you and Tom being on it and then newer fans could fall in love with today's Bo and Luke - sound good? Ok then, get to it!! Lol.

Don't know why the Dukes can't be brought back on CBS All Access.
Bo,Luke,Daisy return to Hazzard County and help a new generation of Dukes to fight the system like a two modern day robin hood. Yee-Haw!

I have a couple of Smallville questions. What was your favorite episode that you were a part of? Lexmas was one of my favorites. Also Do you think Jonathan Kent played a part in Lex's fall into the person he became? It was always my opinion that he did because watching Lex always just wanted to be accepted by the Kent's and be considered part of the family but Jonathan never could trust him and pushed him away. Hope you're able to answer these. Thanks

Couldn’t agree more on the 06 movie. They did the same thing to the CHIPs movie that Dax Sheppard did

Did anyone have trouble getting along on the set? I know these days there are a lot of divas that are difficult to work with. And also, are the chances of any further reunion movies completely out of the question? I'm a superfan that has watched everything Dukes related.

Terrific video. For what it’s worth, I loved the first Dukes if Hazzard reunion movie. I thought it captured the spirit of the show perfectly and on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 9. It lost the 10 in the last minutes when Daisy didn’t marry Enos. It was a reunion movie not an episode. Changes like that can happen and should have. The Hollywood movie less so. I still enjoyed it but it was more of a 6 or 7. The other movies that came out in the theater and the prequel one were 1s.

I have a question: what were the reasons behind using miniatures for many of the action scenes in series 7;and what were the cast and crews opinions of them?

    • @charlesmotzko1668

I cant watch season 7 because the miniatures ruined the concept of the show. They even had few in season 6.

John you should make a movie, about Bo's dad and Mom a prequel, you can be Bo's dad, since they were never mentioned in the show

Much love from south Texas. I love this show and I’ve loved it since I was a little boy. It is the greatest show ever and it was the only show a rancher like myself enjoyed watching with my family and I did not have to worry about the content and I could relate to it so well. I grew up with the values of the show and that is why I love it so much. Thank you sir for making theses videos. I have a question Mr. Schneider, So why did Bo and Luke leave and have Coy and Vance on the show?

Good video John. Just curious though, if you had the chance to acquire the rights to the Dukes of Hazzard franchise, would you do it? You could make it a better success than the 2 movies in 2005 and 2007 by bringing in a new cast who are related to the originals. If not I can understand and I respect that.

Great to see you enjoying the sunshine John. It's sunny here in Lincolnshire, UK today. One of our rarely moments of sunny weather. I personally have been walking 3-4 miles a day while this has been going on. Feel kinda better for it, muscles ache a bit, but that must be am doing it correctly.
I posted on another video: what brand of blue denim jackets did you wear, or were they just generic denim jackets? I know Levi and Wrangler are the bigger brands for it.
Lastly, when a jump was performed, particularly over a river, how did they calculate the speed and high of the ramp, to ensure they landed near or after the landing spot?
    Cheers. Simon M L.

@@JohnSchneiderStudios Thanks for replying John. Really appreciate it. Just wondering the brand, as would love to get similar, but perhaps this sort of detail isn't something that was taken note of. Keep safe, and keep doing the vids. PS. do you get many of those lizards around?

How did first unit communicate with second unit on clothes/car coordination; which car was chasing which, who was driving, etc.?
