      I was 10 as well when it started. About this time, I was starting to become nearsighted. So my Friday night ritual was to put two pillows about 7 or 8 feet on living room floor from TV. And that big bowl of popcorn was always there. Fun times with all three CBS show, Incredible Hulk, Dukes, then Dallas.

No distractions, no cellphone’s, no internet. 3 generations of us, spending family time together watching the Duke’s. Thanks for some of the most important times in my life with family.

      @@davidmeyer8133 Hi David I don't remember a Cadillac being destroyed. I remember in one episode, I can't remember why but he was soaked in water in one. I don't know what model of Uncle Jessie's pick up was. Someone is bound to know.

    • @digitalmagicAR
      @digitalmagicAR 4 года назад +2

      @@davidmeyer8133 Great question and I'm wondering that as well. I do remember one of the people involved with the show saying when they jumped the Cadillac it bent. The only jump I remember seeing was an over-the-camera one. Typical Hollywood operation is to have more than one vehicle ready because even if it's not a main vehicle like the General (which was wrecked a lot), they still do not want any down time due to an accident or mechanical failure because time is money. So I'd be very surprised if they didn't have 2 or 3. Maybe John will remember seeing more than one.

Good times! I admire your commitment to working out, and you don't look your age. Thank you for taking time to explain some of the technical aspects of the filming world, I am a photographer, not professional yet, and I love all the technical stuff. Then a PA came around astonished and ask "Are you actually drinking that?" " Uh...yeah." I replied. He just shook his head and walked away. It makes me wonder what I was drinking. @@MrChuck1888 I wish they would at least do an animated form of season 11. However, if you're interested in how the comics season went, you can subscribe to DC Universe for like $8.65 a month after taxes and they have all the comics on there. Its pretty cool because you get the Smallville take on Batman, something we were always wanting in the show. And there's not minimum subscription period, so you can subscribe, read all the comics, then unsubscribe. But they also have some good visual media. They cycle through different movies, and they have their original series' like Titans.

    I actually met James Best briefly in the summer of 88. It was at a local festival. I live down south so The Dukes of Hazzard was very popular. He was walking through the crowd and was absolutely mobbed. People would not leave him alone. I mean it was "ROSCOE" AND "YEEEEEE HAAAA" every turn that man made. He had bought a house on the lake but you never saw him in town and I can understand why.
    If you read this I have a question for you. How have you handled the life of a celebrity? Being constantly approached and having no real privacy would have to get old. You seem to have done quite well with it and are down to earth. If you've already covered this my apologies but I just found your channel.
    I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep up the good work :)

    Glad you had had real beer! Just curious, did the fact that you and Tom may have had to shoot the same seine multiple times factor into how much you guys would drink? I have always wondered how this plays into filming scenes on Dukes where you guys where eating? Especially when Boss was trying to eat an oversize sandwich! Did you guys eat just enough food during each take to make it appear as if you where eating a full meal?

    On the Dukes whenever they showed a scene where you were driving the General Lee in the close up shots from the side window or through front windshield most of the times you can clearly tell the background moving was on a screen cause it didn't look as clear and defined as everything else. While that was happening and you were pretending to be driving were you really sitting still in a parked car while some people stood outside of the car out of sight pushing the General Lee from side to side to make it look like the car was moving somewhat lol ? You know what I mean ? In some driving shots you can tell they aren't really driving just cause the audio is so clear but at the same time you see the General Lee kinda moving up and down as if it were driving on a bumpy road or something. How'd they get the car to move while staying still ?

    I’m curious, when filming the dukes of hazzard, we all know that a load of Dodge Charger general lees were trashed during filming but when you see John and Tom driving (live not projection) how many different generals were used for that? Or was there just one drivable hero car for these driving to and from shots?

    The real boars was in Georgia. Was one recreated on the set? How did you do these shots?

      John said in an earlier Q&A that after they filmed the first five episodes in Georgia and relocated to the Warner Bros Studios in California, people from WB took photos of the Boar's Nest from every angle and built as exact of a replica as they could.

      The original BN in GA still stands today. At one point I believe it was a church, uncertain what it is now or if it’s vacant.

    Have to stay fit and slim if the doors on your car are welded shut and you have to enter through the window.
