I just bought this pressure washer based on your video and I really appreciate it and the fact that you listed where to get the other hose and connections.. I bought it directly from your link made it so easy appreciate it man thank you.
I have the Dewalt 2100 PSI 1.2 GPM Pressure Washer. I use it to clean the vinyl fence and to clean concrete also to wash the car. I put a pressure gauge on my unit to check the PSI. With the white spray nozzle I typically see pressure readings of 1400 PSI. I use the white spray nozzle for cleaning the fence and it does a great job. The Yellow spray nozzle I use to clean concrete and typically I see pressure readings of 1700 PSI. The Yellow spray nozzle does a fantastic job cleaning concrete it is just slower than a bigger unit. I have seen the line pressure on my gauge go as high as 2600 PSI and the output pressure reading at the nozzle at a steady and amazing pressure of 2200 PSI.
Success.....I know from reading many of the comments, that many of you like myself have wanted to make the gun a "Stubby" as Josh mentioned in his video. They might make one, however I couldn't find anything that would work directly with the OEM thread (14mm 1.5 pitch by the way). what I finally did was take the gun apart, remove the OEM fitting on the end. This is a 1/8 pipe thread, at this point you just need a reducing bushing. I went from 1/4 to 1/8, then added on the 1/4 quick connect fitting. Put the gun back together and it looks like it came that way.....minus the Teflon tape....LOL I shot a small video and will post it to my channel when I get a minute so you can see what the finished product looks like. Hope this helps a few of you out there and I would like to thank Josh for sharing his time and knowledge to the rest of us.
Thank you for the help and explanation I just don't understand why Dewalt couldn't have just manufactured the OEM on the gun this way in the first place smh.
i have been fighting this for the last few days trying to make it a stubby handle could never find the right reducer. annoying they have to make stuff difficult lol
Thanks to this review I hit up my local Facebook Marketplace and found a unit for sale. I won't go into any details of my purchase experience but lets just say I scored a new warranty replaced unit from Dewalt for $70 CAD. One thing you missed about the handle is the locking tab which is inset on the plastic frame, excellent idea.
From a user's perspective washing an old muscle car, lower psi for the soap and rinse nozzles is good, so it doesn't get under light seals and covers or are too hard on trims. An adjustable nozzle is even better. Very nice review.

@@Speedstack21 yes, compared to an oscillating pump their life expectancy is about a third. It deals with the components and mechanical wear. I've now had mine half a year and love it. Handle is a awkward to put in and the nozzles fall in the storage part; otherwise love it.

@lordtrini right, while i agree that this can work, i much prefer to not exceed 2000 psi in some scenarios so as to not damage the materials that cant handle more pressure.
I recently picked one up on sale ($200). I purchased the the recommended Uberflex hose for mine. The kinky stock hose drove me nuts and is the only negative I have on this unit. It was obviously built to a price point. The suitcase design is a storage game changer. It should win an award. Excellent tip on the UberFlex hose!
Josh, just picked up one of these pressure washers after watching many many or your reviews and detailing videos. It has decent numbers and should be perfect for what I am looking for. Got the last one at my local HD. Already ordered the UberFlex, quick connects, foam cannon, and nozzle tips so looking forward to putting it to use on our cars. Thanks for doing such a thorough job on all these various brand reviews as well as the other auto detailing videos. It is much appreciated!
@@e46Kyle I never found a fitting to put a cannon directly on the Dewalt gun and actually purchased a separate gun for the cannon. However I am getting pump surging with this setup so not sure if changing the orifice in the cannon would help.
This worked perfectly for what i wanted. I have a pontoon boat and the deck is vinyl. The seam where the boat seats meets the floor is hard to clean with a brush and you have to get down on your hands and knees to do it. This thing worked great. Not only does it ckean well, but the nozzle reaches perfectly. I dont need a lot of pressure, just an easy way to clean cordlessly. I store the unit in a locked compartment and just carry the battery back and forth.
Very good and thorough review. That little DeWalt pressure washer looks IMPRESSIVE! Really well thought out, especially with that on-board storage, telescopic handle, on-board tip storage in the handle (which looks stout). And with the DeWalt name, hopefully it lasts like their other power tools which lasts for YEARS and YEARS! Very nice looking little unit. For a enthusiast just getting into more extensive detailing, this little unit would be perfect.
The PSI was low because you had the unit standing upright. Instructions say to lay it flat, as shown in figure A and B in the manual. This more than likely affects the pressure.

Just received mine from HD. Your review is spot on. For sure the hose needs to be greatly improved otherwise seems to be a well built unit. Thanks for the nozzle data. !
I picked one up and really wanted to love it. The fact I couldn't easily convert it to a stubby gun killed it for me - not taking the chance of screwing it up and not being able to return it.

Old PW just game up the ghost and this one looks like a no brainer for me, Dewalt makes good stuff. Review gave me way more info than what I was looking for. Thanks!
The max operating out-put pressure can be effected by the supply water pressure too. In a commercial setting you can have higher city water pressure than you would have at your home. I run an average of 55 to 60 psi in my house because it has a regulator on it. At my garage it comes straight off the water meter and there isn't a regulator for the 1 hose bib that I have down there and, that usually runs around 130 to 140 psi. Crazy water hose pressure too, I usually replace 1 or 2 garden hoses a year because I'm to cheap to buy GOOD hoses LOL... My electric pressure washer says it's a 1900 psi unit but, connected to the house I only get around 1600 to 1675 psi. At the garage, I gets closer to 1800. No, it still doesn't reach 1900 psi but you see my point. So for me it seems to make a difference. Thank you for the review, Have a good day!
Nice review, looks like a great unit. Love how compact it is; for the same price point as the Greenworks 2300, it pulls lesser but still good PSI/GPM numbers but it doesn't have that annoying delay, huge plus. I have more faith in Dewalt's reliability than Hart, Greenworks or Ryobi. Seems totally worth it, just wish every $200+ pressure washer came with an uberflex or similar hose.
What an awesome and thorough review. Ended up pulling the trigger on this one! This channel is so insightful, and this guy is very honest and positive! Hope this guy explodes on RUclips
Just picked one of these up! Thanks for your reviews, helped me to decide go with the DeWalt v Greenworks for what I’m going to use it for. I’m off to your Amazon links for ultra flex because that OEM hose is really bad.
I’m surprised to see you recommend the Uber flex hose with so many people on Amazon showing photos of it exploding, bulging and failing. Anyone know of a better hose??
I’m the video you stated you don’t recommend ever using the built in fluid container, what do you recommend instead? Is their an attachment that works with the wand provided? Looking to mainly do sidewalks, driveways and exterior of home.
I really think at this price we should expect better performance. I myself think it's overpriced I'm not sure what others might think. I'm looking to get a electric pressure washer. I hate having to get my gas powered one out whenever I need some pressure. I do a lot of work on lawn mowers and other equipment. I like to clean them all prior to bring them into the garage. I've been noticing a lot of people have started to go with electric ones. Back in the early 2000s which is forever ago I had purchased at the time was to be the best you could buy. Zero impressed with it. Ever since that all I use is gas powered. Thank you for giving links for the accessories. I've been wanting to change my hose. I also want to add quick disconnects. Great video! It helped me decide to pull the trigger on this unit. One quick note, the 1/4” connector direct on the gun did not fit. Still a great unit.
@@chuckisbusy only thing I found was to buy a different snub gun unfortunately. A shame because the dewalt one looks so nice. It was a really frustrating search to find a solution though. I hope someone finds one in the future.
I tried at least 5-6 from amazon QC and none fit. I went to HD and tried to find the thread size to order, nothing fit and no standard sizes fit. Lowes was next, same issue. I spent the past 2 weeks waiting for an answer back from Dewalt and they still have not given an answer. I emailed Josh 4 x's and he never answered either.
Awesome video! Do you have the link for the stubby adapter that you mentioned at 18:00 ? I have this exact pressure washer and would prefer to have it shorter like you mentioned... Just need to get that adapter.. also don't see it in the description...TIA!
Nice review Josh. I'm thinking seriously about getting this unit. Did you end up keeping this unit in your shop? There are a ton of bad reviews out there saying that this unit has unexpectedly quit working but I don't know if it's user error or if there's an issue with the unit over the long-term. Do you have any feedback or advice you can give on the longevity of the unit?
Great video, today I opened my DeWalt pressure washer, and after connecting everything and started to use it, multiple times the pressure went down for a few seconds, and then went back to normal. Is that normal?
Awesome video, I may have to get one of these. I didn't see a link for the 1/4" quick connect that you talked about at the end of the video. What thread is it coming out of the gun?
Question, Can I add Quick disconnect to trigger and wand and still close storage compartment before I pull the trigger and purchased this power washer. "Quick Disconnect" is important to me.
When adding a quick connect to the gun to use it as a stubby, I can find a M14 female to 1/4”, but cannot find a M14 to 3/8” which would work with the included nozzles. Do I need to get the M14 to 1/4” and just get another set of nozzles? Thank you!
I know this video is knocking on door of being a year old, but did you ever end up using this in your business and how did it do? I have all Dewalt tools and am thinking about getting this for the garage detailing set up.
I want something to wash my pavers in prep for sealer. They are about 3 yrs old install. Also I would use to wash engine compartments and undercarriages that have oil and sludge. What PSI should I be looking for? Would this Devault be enough or should I go for that Ryobi you mention?
Hello Philip me personally I haven't used it yet I'm going to use it for detailing just as a weekend gig but my boss has used it and he wanted to keep it and he's never easily impressed he's like a MacGyver of the company he used it on the forklift he used it on the concrete floors and it did a pretty good job but I hate to be the flying the ointment I looked at the price the other day in Amazon and now it's $129 good luck
Excellent review. Very thorough. I know you said you don't recommend using the onboard soap container for cleaner deployment, why/elaborate? Appreciate you
Thank you! Yes I never use the onboard because it contaminates the hose. For me as a detailer, I need to know that all the soap solution is gone and having it go through the hose could leave some residual behind. I prefer using a foam cannon so that the solution stays at the last point and after the clean water has gone through the hose
Hi Josh, thanks for all of your informative video's...I picked this unit up along with hoses you recommended...very happy. Question...Did you ever figure out what quick connect tip fit on the end of the gun? You mentioned but did not confirm what size outlet quick connect would fit on the gun. I tried a typical NPT to 1/4" and it did not work...any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You said the Ryobi 2400 was your favorite but the picture and words on the screen are Dewalt 2400. Which one should I look at as well? Thank you. Great information.
Seems like a nice unit. The internal storage is nice in theory but if you have to take wand apart every time might be a pain. Quick connect might help. Thanks for your content. Can you do a video about best one step paint correction before ceramic coating please?
This video finalized my decision to buy this unit, along with the quick connect kit in your links. It is a great little unit that travels well, and performs very well. I've searched for the 1/4 quick connect to make a stubby gun, but they come with NPT style threading, which doesn't match the threading on the gun. Can you please point me to where you got the quick connect for the DeWalt gun for the stubby configuration? Great channel, and thanks for the help!
@imjoshv Great video. Is there an attachment to allow me to add 1/4” quick connect to the front of the wand handle to make it a stubby with quick connect spray tips? Similar to the Mckillans design but with the DeWALT handle?
Good review. Thanks. Good looking machine. The big problem I see is, if it draws over 15 amps; it will blow an average home garage circuit every time. Deal breaker. I can buy the gun as an upgrade.
looking at getting one of these, if i buy a 50' or 75' retractable hose so the unit stays in my garage will i lose psi pressure? also has everyone found quicktach fittings to use a foam cannon with this right of the gun without the long attachment?
Where do you get the quick connect for the gun. It’s not 1/4” it’s somewhere in between. Want to get rid of wand for foam cannon. Where can you get that adapter?
Good job. I don't want anything fancy, just something to clean my carpets and rugs. I sold my car since I moved to the city. No need for it with all the public transportation available.
So the only issue that I see with this pressure washer is the storage of the wand parts. You mentioned using a quick connect kit with it so you could use a foam cannon with just the handle and you don't have to have it at the end of a 2 foot wand. Have you tested that all the hand wand and parts will fit back into the unit with the extra length added to them? Looking at mine it seems really tight and I don't think it will fit back into the storage compartment. Are you able to verify this works?
Appreciate your reviews Josh. I wish you would run the foam cannon test with each review though. Considering seriously this DeWalt unit, but wonder if the brushless Ryobi 2300 is better or worse?
@@michaelmendoza5361 the Ryobi and its been great so far. Used it to clean entire driveway, back decking, patio furniture, siding on house and several car washes.

@@Kcellup01 did you guys find a solution?
@@chuckisbusy only thing I found was to buy a different snub gun unfortunately. A shame because the dewalt one looks so nice. It was a really frustrating search to find a solution though. I hope someone finds one in the future.
@@Kcellup01 Which snub gun did you go with? The mckillan…?
I tried at least 5-6 from amazon QC and none fit. I went to HD and tried to find the thread size to order, nothing fit and no standard sizes fit. Lowes was next, same issue. I spent the past 2 weeks waiting for an answer back from Dewalt and they still have not given an answer. I emailed Josh 4 x's and he never answered either.
Great bud. I’m debating about getting this or Adams washer. Which would you recommend?
Have you done a review on the new 3000psi DeWalt? Great videos!
We need to know if you're able to use that pressure washer handle and what to buy to make it snubby
I don't know what it is but that sound on that one is not nearly as obnoxious as others.
Love your Galaxy! Thank ya for the test
Does this same model come gas powered or just this model electric??
Do you have the link of the quarter quick connect for the gun?
any luck on this?
tried getting a 1/4” inch disconnect npt male from lowes and the threads weren’t right ordered one off amazon will let you know if fits
@@nick34377 I ordered the one I thought would fit off Amazon and the threads were wrong too. I cannot find the right piece and it is frustrating!
@@adamscholl8110 can you post link because if i got same one i can cancel my order
Wondering the same
Great video, today I opened my DeWalt pressure washer, and after connecting everything and started to use it, multiple times the pressure went down for a few seconds, and then went back to normal. Is that normal?
Do you no what quick connect goes on the end of the wand for the foam cannon?
Awesome video, I may have to get one of these. I didn't see a link for the 1/4" quick connect that you talked about at the end of the video. What thread is it coming out of the gun?
Same here... Anybody found the connector?
Clear and concise review. Well done and thank you.
What about storing the accessories with quick connects, will they still fit?
Question, Can I add Quick disconnect to trigger and wand and still close storage compartment before I pull the trigger and purchased this power washer. "Quick
Disconnect" is important to me.
I like to see u review the canpump commercial pressure washer 1500psi 2.2 gpm
When adding a quick connect to the gun to use it as a stubby, I can find a M14 female to 1/4”, but cannot find a M14 to 3/8” which would work with the included nozzles. Do I need to get the M14 to 1/4” and just get another set of nozzles?
Thank you!
Is it better or how stronger is it compare to ryobi 1900 psi?
I know this video is knocking on door of being a year old, but did you ever end up using this in your business and how did it do? I have all Dewalt tools and am thinking about getting this for the garage detailing set up.
I want something to wash my pavers in prep for sealer. They are about 3 yrs old install. Also I would use to wash engine compartments and undercarriages that have oil and sludge. What PSI should I be looking for? Would this Devault be enough or should I go for that Ryobi you mention?
Not sure why these arent available in Australia i want one we only have the 18v battery option damn it
Sounds exactly like the harbor freight unit I bought that lasted a month. It's probably the same pump in a different package, just like most out there
Back in August I got me a Westforce for $74 in Amazon it's got 2300psi/1.7gpm.
How do you like it and what do you use it for?
Hello Philip me personally I haven't used it yet I'm going to use it for detailing just as a weekend gig but my boss has used it and he wanted to keep it and he's never easily impressed he's like a MacGyver of the company he used it on the forklift he used it on the concrete floors and it did a pretty good job but I hate to be the flying the ointment I looked at the price the other day in Amazon and now it's $129 good luck
Excellent review. Very thorough. I know you said you don't recommend using the onboard soap container for cleaner deployment, why/elaborate? Appreciate you
Also bought uber flex hose and after market nozels different orifice sizes, no way I would tolerate hose it comes with. Great review!
Thank you! Yes I never use the onboard because it contaminates the hose. For me as a detailer, I need to know that all the soap solution is gone and having it go through the hose could leave some residual behind. I prefer using a foam cannon so that the solution stays at the last point and after the clean water has gone through the hose
Bought the quick connectors recommended, however non of the work with the gun. Where you guys able to find the proper one?
Hi Josh, thanks for all of your informative video's...I picked this unit up along with hoses you recommended...very happy. Question...Did you ever figure out what quick connect tip fit on the end of the gun? You mentioned but did not confirm what size outlet quick connect would fit on the gun. I tried a typical NPT to 1/4" and it did not work...any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
also looking for this
I've tried all kinds of connectors none of them work. Just got a different stubby gun and Uber flex hose
I can't seem to find the correct adaptor to eliminate the gun extension wand. I want to make a stubby gun but not sure what adaptor I need
Any luck on this?
I tried a 1/4 Quick connect but it doesn’t thread on all the way, like it’s too small. So I tired a 3/8 and it’s way to big so idk what it is.
@@theurbanseekers4608 see my post below
I have a solution and made a quick video. M14x1.5F to 1/4" M npt adapter ruclips.net/video/sT-r3iFCeag/видео.html
Metric M14 M14X1.5 Female to 1/4" Male NPT Pipe Fitting Gauge Adapter….This will work
You said the Ryobi 2400 was your favorite but the picture and words on the screen are Dewalt 2400. Which one should I look at as well? Thank you. Great information.
What would you upgrade on this product?
I’ve come to find out it a proprietary thread that they use. I’m still doing some research to find an option for that piece
@@imjoshv Ahhh, just our luck. I'll keep searching, too. Let's see who figures it out, first.... ; )
Metric M14 M14X1.5 Female to 1/4" Male NPT Pipe Fitting Gauge Adapter…. This would work
Can you link a good replacement gun and foam cannon please ? I’d really appreciate it
@@sergiomartinez8504 does not work. I tried all kinds of connectors the threads don't match
Why do you not recommend using the soap dispenser?
What connection exactly do I need for the handle to use this as a stubby handle?
looking at getting one of these, if i buy a 50' or 75' retractable hose so the unit stays in my garage will i lose psi pressure? also has everyone found quicktach fittings to use a foam cannon with this right of the gun without the long attachment?
Where do you get the quick connect for the gun. It’s not 1/4” it’s somewhere in between. Want to get rid of wand for foam cannon. Where can you get that adapter?
Just bought this pressure washer for my new mobile detailing company will be upgrading to uber flex hose would also like to get a snubby gun for it
Just get quick conencts and you ll be able to swap it all out fast and easy!
Good job. I don't want anything fancy, just something to clean my carpets and rugs. I sold my car since I moved to the city. No need for it with all the public transportation available.
would u get dewalts other pressure washer with the bigger wheels?
maybe im crazy, but I'd like to put this thing on a bicycle trailer and pull it around with my ebike doing summer soft washes for people 😂😂
Great videos
With you testing all kinds of electric pressure washer is it worth the money…. In your own opinion which one will you recommend the best
FYI, they don't!!
Appreciate your reviews Josh. I wish you would run the foam cannon test with each review though. Considering seriously this DeWalt unit, but wonder if the brushless Ryobi 2300 is better or worse?
I’m stuck with the same decision. What did you end up with?
@@michaelmendoza5361 the Ryobi and its been great so far. Used it to clean entire driveway, back decking, patio furniture, siding on house and several car washes.
@@rollingreclinerRecumbent good to know! The only reason I want the dewalt is the storage, but there is a ry 2300 for $180 at a liquidation sale. So I may end up getting that now. Thanks!
Can u buy ur own hose and attachment say u want a longer one
Dewalt needs to make a Cordless version of this, So does Ego.
Cordless suck. Underpowered. Battery drains fast. You will hate handling the gun with the battery attached, heavy.
The high water pressure outlet has become stripped on my unit. Is that male fitting replacement available?
Is this pressure washer better than the active?
Have you used this with a foam cannon yet? I ordered a mjjc with a 1.1 and adams mega foam soap and was really let down with the foam production and I think my pressure washer is too blame. Would be great to know how this set up would perform before spending the money.
Do you prefer the DeWalt 2400 or the 2100 nest?
I just bought this for my car I'm an uber driver 🙃 thanks for the awesome review 🙌
