Coach Julia - Canasta Tango Virtual Test

Hello Skaters! In March 2024 I finally took and passed my first 6 USFS Solo Pattern Dance tests. These are the Preliminary and Pre-Bronze dances. I have been skating these for years but never have taken the time, or really had a good opportunity to test them. Recently I realized that I could just virtually test them, and so that is what I did. Now I just have a little more than a dozen to go and I will have my official USFS Gold Medal in solo pattern dance. Ha! I am skating this dance for USARS on roller skates. Fun to watch you skate it on ice. Same steps, minor differences in technique. I enjoyed watching your test dance!

For some reason, the steps for the Rhythm Blues were changed, so my dance is different from yours. Every coach I worked with on that dance said, "that's not the Rhythm Blues" when I first skated it for them. But I had to show them the diagram in our book. I'm sure they would all have been satisfied to see your Rhythm Blues! I have enjoyed watching your videos, Coach Julia!

I took intro to ice dance a few years ago when I was taking all the learn to skate classes... This song was played non stop. But it was a different Dance we did. I got so tired of hearing this music lol.
