Just ordered my AxeFXIII Mark 2 today....I got the FM3 a few months back,but I just had to have the space station....all the ins and outs will be perfect for incorporating some of my pedals and amps into one mega rig...
Been enjoying my FM3 so much for a couple months I only just started testing with external gear last weekend! Coincidence? I think not! I tested the FM3 out straight in to my amp, in the FX return and with // FX. So impressed with all the sounds so far! Fantastic video! 👍
Hi Leon, did both of your pieces of gear here have normal Hi-Z, unbalanced inputs? (Assuming they did.) Have you tried running analog outputs 3 or 4 to balanced, line level gear like an 1176 or an EQ? If so, did you have any issues? I’m wondering whether running the unbalanced 3 and 4 outputs from the axe into a balanced input is cool. I figure there might be some attenuation but other than that am hoping it works well. Thanks as always.
Question unrelated to this video. Are you a Kansas fan and if so then which singer and songs would you say is your favorite? Can’t wait to get an axe fx and use your videos as guides for great tones
Hi Leon. What are your thoughts on using front end Pedals ie ODS, screamers and what not into plugins or the axefx. Do you think they react the same as an amp would.
I'm not Leon but I can maybe help as I do this I have a GFI System Synesthesia (mono in and stereo out). I run from output 3 mono out (left only) and stereo back in via input 3. I have to put this quite early in the chain otherwise it'll sum the stereo effects before it to mono. I also have two other outboard effects that are stereo in and out (Eventide H9 and GFI Specular Tempus) so I also have them running out through output 4 and back in through input 4 and I can put this later in the chain. Hope that helps, but I'm happy to answer any other questions.
The envelope mix function on the Axe-Fx was cool. I guess if you wanted to dive deeper, you can send MIDI modifiers to the SPX’s MIDI in as well. Have you got any videos on creating Axe-Fx profiles of your amps? Is it able to do this, like a Kemper? Thanks! Take care :)

Just racked my axe fx III with my Lexicon MPX200 and forgot the wiring, so this video does the trick even tho its 3 years old. Sounds awesome and now tidy, using 2290 from Axe, Lex chl 1 Arena delay (for space), chl 2 large plate.😀😀😀😀
Oooh I’ve been wanting to see that Setup page for years. When I check out the ports on the image searches, I didn’t know what was stereo. So that should be around 12x12 including the SP/DIF, the USB, etc. You have so much I/O, all your DAW channels (or at least a pair) should be able to send/receive. Years, Leon.

The III has 4 sets of ins and outs (3 of which are stereo) while the II only has in1 (mono) and a stereo in2. What are you thinking of running it all with?
@@LeonTodd thank you mate. So the AX8 & FX8 have been discontinued.. I am also consider strongly the GT1000 from Boss and the Helix. If I could get the AX8 for under 2k AUD would you suggest it? Helix 2nd hand is similarly priced whereas brand new GT1000 is around 1500. I will be using it with acoustic guitars also whatever I choose needs that acoustic interfacing. Thoughts?

If you don't have an XLR/TRS cable then just use AXE out3 or 4. Pretty sure I have out2 set to +4 but it will work with either. All the same midi stuff will work!

What do you do if the pedal only has mono in but stereo out? For example my Yamaha magic stomp. Thank you!

Yes! in fact, you could use scenes on your Axe-Fx to send midi messages to the switcher as well.
