  • 📍We tried every suggested method to remove the super cracked graphics off of this 2005 Crossroads Silverado and nothing worked.
    After trying 20+ methods with little to no success we finally found something that worked! In this video we share the tips and tricks that we learned when successfully taking all of the graphics off of this 5th wheel.
    Feel free to comment below any questions you might have!
    We purchased the 16oz GraphXoff here www.autotrimdesign.net/graphx...
    *Disclaimer*
    GraphXoff is only intended to be used on fiberglass/filon and not on metal surfaces. it may remove paint when used on any metal surfaces such as slide-out trim.
    TSP may remove wax from RV exterior.
    Please use discretion and test any products on an inconspicuous place.

    Done my share of paint stripping and I think I might have a hint to help speed up the process. After applying your 'decal lifter' paste cover it with plastic/Seran wrap to keep the paste from drying too fast. Works well with paint strippers.

    What a great video! We are planning to remove our faded cracked and shrunken decals on our 2004 Crossroads Cruiser this year. I have watched numerous videos, and GraphixOff looks like the best choice for our application. I read through the comments and saw you ended up wet sanding to remove more of the ghost marks, so I will do that as well before we have new custom decals installed. Thanks again for the info.

    When I removed vinyl from my car mineral spirits worked on most of the glue. I would only use it for that and never use it on the paint for anything else. It might cause damage if used too many times but it is not as harsh as acetone. Acetone might just instantly dissolve the paint! I know it is tricky because you want something that works but won't destroy the paint under the glue.

    Since one bottle is seldom enough, buy two or three(yes$$) use roller(4") and it's super fast and in the big picture it is not as much work as trying to stretch out the dissolving solution. Another big plus is it comes off so much easier if you just soak the graphics the FIRST time. Time vs $$ I do it while I am fishing, seems like multitasking helps the fish bite.

      We ended up wet sanding it with an orbital sander, starting with a 800 grit and then working up to a 1500 grit. We followed techniques used for restoring the gel coat on boat hulls. It took the worst of the oxidation off but it didn't remove all of it. You could still see slight shadowing but we decided it looked good enough and left it bare. I hope that helps! I didn't get enough footage to do a video of it!

    • @shawnbeerens4292
      @shawnbeerens4292 Год назад

      I have seen some videos on RUclips on this, when you use either a rotary buffer or a dual action buffer with a heavy rv/ marine compound to remove the oxidation it will help remove the decale "shadowing " then can be followed up with some wax to make it shine like new!

    Great video. I need to remove a graphic on the nose cap of my fifth wheel. I will test on a small area but am hopefull it will work. If anyone has any experience with removing off the front cap I would appreciate it.

      We ended up wet sanding them with very high grit and paper and an orbital sander. I'm doing another RV graphic removal soon and I'll document the entire process

    My experience with RV graphics - Takes less time to go back to school, get a master's degree, fight your way up the corporate ladder, and then buy a new RV. When you buy your new RV, order it without graphics. Then retire.

    Is it possible that the Graphics-off is the same as Zip-Strip? Just wondering, because zip-strip is quite cheap.

    I seen someone use goof off or goo off a scraper and heat gun to remove them

    • @TheFlippinTilbys
      @TheFlippinTilbys  11 месяцев назад

      That can work on graphics that's aren't cracked. When they are cracked and baked into the filon, it's almost impossible to remove them n with a heat gun

    • @TheFlippinTilbys
      @TheFlippinTilbys  4 месяца назад

      I did it over about 3 days, only working for a few hours in the afternoons. You could probably do it in one long day if you worked quickly or had help - it is quite the arm workout, though!
