- Our family has enjoyed weekend trips to Gene's Trout Fishing Resort for many years. This June, my brother Tom (the videographer) and I decided to bring our father, David, to the Norfork River to celebrate Father's Day. What we ended up with will be a story that will last for generations. A special thanks to Victor Jones, Paul Storm and the Gene's staff for making our weekend the fishing memory of a lifetime.
The brown trout was 36.5" and weighed 25.1 lbs. It was caught using a mag-light 5'4" Loomis GL-2 paired with a Pflueger President GR-7 reel with 6 lb Trilene XL low vis line and a #6 Eagle Claw hook.
I caught a 5lb brown from my kayak on the White River on the 4th on a very wimpy ultralight rod with 4 lb test line. It took 20 minutes to land the trout because my tackle was really designed for sunfish and little smallmouth bass.
I caught a 20 lb 32 inch brown 2 years ago!!!! Some giant fish
In the Norfork
Awesome job!
I hooked a nice one below lock 2 down river. Fishing for bass with a gitzit.
I caught a 19lb9oz Brown at Calico Rock on 6lb test. Rare for a big brown to be so far from the dam.
25 lbs?
Yea doesn't look that big ..more like 17
That thing’s the size of a small shark.😮
Where is the Norfork River in Arkansas? Are you sure it wasn't the White River you were fishing?
It's the Norfolk. It's only 5 miles long, merges into the White River and is fed from Norfolk Lake. The dam only has 2 generators as opposed to the White which has 8. Fun river to fish.
my cabins in the video we also went out with paul for a fishing trip funny guy
