    Spectacular. A little less music, and a bit more silence - or just nature - would make this vid even more enjoyable to watch. Thanks.

    Beautiful trout in a pristine environment. Those fish are so healthy and wild. That is what fly-fishing for trout is all about. I hope you all keep making films.

    Fantastic Robert! A few years ago I had a week in Northern Iceland and had a 5kg brown trout and a 4kg sea run arctic char. The best fish of my life, in the shadow of a volcano beached on the black sand.

    Great video, thanks for posting! I was fortunate enough to fish in Iceland last year with my three sons (one of their first times fly fishing) and while we weren’t as remote as this, the land and fish were beautiful, and the people kind and fun. I hope I can go back again

    Fished with Fish Partners last summer and was very pleased. Nymphing for char was great fun. Our guide was personable and knowledgable, so much so that we're hoping he'll guide us for sea trout at the Battle Hill Lodge this September. Eidur is also very easy to work with in arranging trips; highly recommend them if you want a well managed and successful fishing trip!

    Hey Robert, great stuff ! It is really a great opportunity for you to be there ! I have traveled to Iceland twice for only normal tourism, it was epic. I hear that there are some guys developping sea trout fishing in the rivers in the south west if I remember correctly. There's a youtube video about it somewhere. I hope to pick up a lot of useful fishing tips from you in Iceland.

    Such fabulous video! I agree with other posters who think the music is unnecessary or at least should be toned way down in quantity. But it is certainly not a “production issue” the quality of everything is great. Just think about experimenting with more nature sound and less manufactured audio. Cheers!

    Hey Robert,
    I have a question about sea trout fishing in a lake. The lake is located in Norway and is connected to the sea by a small stream, with a significant summer sea trout run. My question is which flies you would use for sea trout in a lake? The lake has a population of sticklebacks and brown trout. The local anglers mainly fish there with worms and spinners. Should I still use a sandeel fly or shrimp fly, or even a nymph, or other streamers?

    • @FlyFishingbyRobert
      @FlyFishingbyRobert  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are similar lakes on Iceland too. I would probably start with a baitfish fly the size of a stickleback. It use to be effective in many places for trout and can hopefully be something they eat.

    • @enricobregni7025
      @enricobregni7025 5 месяцев назад +3

      I agree with you but I if if wasn’t that expensive, I would get a guide for example the first two days of a 10 days trip. Because in a new country where you never fished you really don’t wanna waste time. I was in NZ at 17yo and of course didn’t have 500$ for a day guide so I studied books, used hydro maps and satellite images and kinda found my self some spots. I really nailed a couple but also for others we were a bit lost. A guide can really maximise your time on the water.

    • @MrKveite1
      @MrKveite1 5 месяцев назад

      @@enricobregni7025 ofcourse but i have been fishing for 50 years this year and i normally fish about 250 days pr year since i dont have to work so i take pride in my catch and odds are i am as good as or better than the guide on my own.Reading rivers is actually really easy with that much experience so i dont really see the problem. I know i know lol i am a bit cocky but do you know anyone with more experience than me?
