As a Skaven player I can confirm, it was just kinda stupid. I mean it does feel weird to have Brood Horrors be actually more useful then Hell Pit Abomination.

Unfortunately the table top version of Warhammer fantasy has ended. Being replaced by a new setting called age of sigmar that plays completely different and is very streamlined. However Warhammer fantasy can still be played, it's just hard to find everything you need. Basically two or more players have armies you build and paint. Using an army book, you build a force on a agreed upon points limit and then fight using dice, rulers, and the vast rules system.

@@popepepe6042 they can each summon 4 units of *permanent* wolf rats IIRC, though I dont know if you can only have 2 at a time or if you can have all 4 out once the cooldown is up. So on the low end it's 80 units of wolf rats and 40 packmasters on the field at a time, on the high end it's *160* units of wolf rats. 200 total units at a time. the poor unit bar.

Only thing in those Primeval Glory stacks that is much of a problem would be the carnosaurs and there's just not that many of them. And they're slower than speed 115 brood horrors, so what you could probably do is bait them away from the other dinos and then just gang up on them. 5-8 carnosaurs versus 13-14 brood horrors and a bunch of characters is probably going to get one-sided pretty fast.
You could replace some of the Brood Horrors with Hellpit Aboms. Aboms beat every right of primeval glory monster in a 1v1, including the Carnosaur. Aboms can still get the same mutations and bonuses as the Brood Horrors so it doesn't really change the way the army works.

Im a beastmen fan and was pretty upset when they announced that this will be a we rework. But now Im happy that not the beastmen are the ones that got matched up with skaven, so there is a chance that they will get an actual good update.
I really wanna know what was going through CA's heads when they decided that individual portable WARPBOMBS would be completely fine and not OP in any way lmao

@@deathbybeer302 That has been my experience as well, where the Dwarves just get rolled hard early game and Vampires just roflstomp all of the empire extremely early.
@@deathbybeer302 I am planning to do a BM campaign on the hardest settings as well, tho I am not sure of Malegor(non cheesy) or morghur has a harder time, I certainly know Kahzrak has it easier than those 2 so he is out as my starting choice x)
anyway, it is doable sure, but the A.I. keeps dooming itself which was my reference there, cheers :D
I had a lot of fun woth the beast men. Just spammed shitty cheap units backed by minotaurs and did well in campaign. Trash units soaked the damage and minotaurs do the damage.
Then as money becomes less of an issue I just upgrade the trash units with better units.
If Clan Skrye can't-won't give us doom rockets, we will make-build doom rockets of our own!

Just when you thought Ikit was ridicoulus enough with all his gimmicks, in comes Thot the Unclean with his army of walking mini nukes.
Ikit: you get only 1 nuke per battle and it requires precious resources.
Throt: basically warpbomb for free on super fast chassis. 3 equal what 1 nuke can do.
The woodelves get nerfed under the roots.
The Skaven get "Manthings go boom-boom" - the second coming.
I still dont see how the wood elves got nerfed, you were never supposed to conquer the entire map with them anyway and they have a much better roster now on top of it being super easy to defend their territories with the missle changes
@@Multiyuppp Wait, what? Legend can barely field 3 armies in the endgame, which was not even remotely a problem before. Their roster? They got a lord from hero copy, worse dragon ogres (which are pretty neat admittedly) and some severely overvalued melee infantry and cav which you can´t field anyways with their economy. The "missile changes" are a totally personal point and as someone who never uses forests beside hiding I don´t care for them at all, but honestly even if I´d were to use them I´d don´t think 1,2 sec of missile invulnerability are that great of a deal, especially if you fully fight in forests you´ll hit ones at 2 sec etc. and to your last point, their new campaign literally has as winning objective to conquer forests which are placed as far as possible from each other on the world map. So not only did not a single of your arguments hold water, you also forgot this -> .

- Their economy is unviable on legendary, which, while being the focus of this here channel, should not be considered the main playmode, and is not what this game is balanced for.
- As far as roster goes, I would say that the zoats are more valuable than dragon ogres all things considered, and that they are especially valuable in the context of the WE roster, their filling of the "cavalry killer" niche being extremely welcome. Also, from what I heard (but can't find precise number on) there was quite a good buff to treekin, making them actually very viable.
- The fact the missile changes do profit greatly the wood elves by making their innate forest buffs actually viable is not a personal point, it's factual. You are free not to use elements of gameplay as you see fit, but that does not mean they don't exist. That'd be like saying "Brood horrors aren't a buff to skaven cause I'm not using them".
- Did you entirely miss the "teleport between forests" thing, effectively negating the need for actual conquest besides the heathlands?
So, did the WE get the short end of the stick on this DLC? Absolutely yes.
Were they nerfed? Not really.
What you have to keep in mind is that the gameplay displayed in this channel (and I say this without judgement of value or "bUt That'S cHeESe") is not the way the large majority of people play this game. You cannot cast judgement on this DLC based solely on the way it affects the way Legend plays the game.
@@gaslar3328 You are right, you can't judge an update based solely on how legend plays. You have to base it on what the community says.
And from what I can see the woodelf update is universally considered a nerf and a trash campaign no one really cares to play. Unless you SPECIFICALLY play the Sisters, but that requires DLC purchase. Seriously, looking at the changes, its almost like CA DELIBERATELY shattered the old Woodelf campaigns just to encourage woodelf players to buy the DLC. And that is NOT okay and since I don't play skaven I am considering never purchasing the DLC because of that.
@@gaslar3328 Legendary or not, this WE update is 100% a nerf for the reasons already stated. The only thing Legendary effects here are the units costs, all the other mechanics are just as bad on easier difficulties. The roster updates are unimpressive unless you're playing multiplayer, in which case the anti-cav is MUCH appreciated. Missile immunity is a cool quality of life addition, but since CA crippled the missile damage stacking archers don't have anywhere near as good dps, even in forests. The teleport between forests has a cooldown, this coupled with not being able to field many armies and having bad garrisons with no walls, makes defense way harder for the WE. Incredibly counter productive since everybody defending this update is saying WE are supposed to be defensive anyway. CA basically changed the WE campaign focus to 100% defense, while also crippling their ability to properly defend their far-apart territories. It's even worse if you're not using the slightly stronger new LL. This is undeniably a nerf across the board for the WE in campaign. I'm sad about it, but I also love skaven so I still have some fun stuff to do.
It almost feels like GW pulled CA off to the side and was like..
"listen. we have to keep up the faction purity. so there arnt any space marines in fantasy.. so you'll just have to pick skaven instead"

As awesome as this would probably be, I don't think you can even use the summons if you already have 40 units. That would at least be consistent with other summons like zombies on vampire counts/coast (I wasn't able to use summons when I had 2 full stacks).

I hope they don’t remove the warpbomb ability. It’s so much fun, and campaign is different from multiplayer, people can just choose not to use it if they find it too cheesy, and people deciding to use it aren’t ruining the fun of others.

They wont remove it but I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed it.
They'll probably make it do more damage to single entity units, which is fair.

@@Tweezawed doesn't matter, the ability will be able to wipe a unit of blessed temple guards without taking any penalty to itself, it's inherently an un-fun ability to go up against because it is too strong for an extra free action on an already strong unit.
the ability would be fine if it also killed the unit but now it lets a monster unit decimate anti-monster units

Is it just me or is this DLC completely underwhelming? Usually there are two races that get new lords and units but in this one it's only the wood elves and NOTHING ELSE.

Throt's portrait needs to be reworked. His mouth is always open and his weapon blocks the player's view of his face.

The ultimate test for this doomstack would actually be extremely lore friendly: a proper Treeman stack backed by Wood Elves' life and shadow magic. For best results(maybe) a Drycha doomstack so even the mages themselves are tanky little trees.
Warpstone armour's effect is ridiculously visually obnoxious, as if there actually was a fog on the battlefield.
This looks quite OP, but i have no problem with it. It's up to the player to decide how to play this game. However I wished that they had only invested more attention to the other race

With all the toys that keep getting added to Skaven and how much the pre-release ad campaign focused on the Skaven, it is pretty obvious that at least one person at CA greatly favors the Skaven. All I can say is, that person or persons have good-best taste.

Last i checked the game won't let you cast a summon spell if you reach the maximum units on field. The max number is something between 40 and 50 i believe. (not including enemy units)

In terms of summons, you get a kind of message mentioning the unit cap is reached (learned this in a 2 stack fight when I tried using about 3 summon abilities at the same time). This was a long time ago so it could have changed and haven't tried since though so it might be an outdated test.
You used to be capped at 40, but I think that was removed.

2 Eshin sorcerers could be pretty good in this army because of Skitterleap. Take no damage from towers/guns when approaching.

Remembers me of my favorite Grom Doomstack. 15 Spiders with the Arachnarock egg spider spawning. You can have legit 40 +Spiderlings on the battlefield easely and just re summon again and again.
I used to feel invincible with Izabella and 19 Vargulfs... lol

There might be an even cheaper variant for this Doomstack ... if you have the special building in Clar Karond (confederating Tretch Craventail becomes important ...), *which lowers the upkeep for Rat Ogres and Abominations by 25%.* They probably "should" include Brood Horrors in that too because they are part of the "monster line", but they are new and maybe they did overlook this building.
Actually the game does limit you. I learned this using a perma summon mod and the Lich master and 2 necromancers. I had so many zombies summoned it shut off my summoning till a zombie unit actually died.
You know what would be an interesting thing to make videos of if possible? A Doomstack vs Doomstack playoff.

If you are at 40 units and start summoning the unit cards just get smaller. I did it in the liver bubonicous quest battle with Skrolk, 3 plauge priests and the persistent summons mod. It got ridiculous real quick.
