  • Welcome to Dry Eye Happy Hour! It's all about conversations and keeping connected.
Facial nerve palsies, acoustic neuroma surgery aftermath, lid retraction, ptosis, "short lids" after blepharoplasty, thyroid eye disease, or even common-or-garden-variety nocturnal lagophthalmos - all these and many more can feature in some of the most painful forms of dry eye. Here, the problem isn't so much about the tear film itself but about exposure due to a lid that is unable to fully close. When the eyelids aren't doing their job - wiping back and forth over the entire eye, keeping it protected, and secreting tears - then the already-inadequate tear layer evaporates almost immediately and the cornea can get into big trouble. Most of all, pain can get out of control.
This Dry Eye Happy Hour session is devoted to these lesser known forms of dry eye disease. Among other things, we'll explore the practical challenges and the types of products that help us most.
Come watch, add your questions, and join the conversation after the panel. Then consider volunteering as a panelist in the future on a dry eye topic you're passionate about!
