How to check the Amazon Seller of your eye drops
This video will show you how to ensure you're buying your eye drops from the manufacturer's Amazon storefront.
Advice:
-Find your eye drop
-Look for the seller under the product name
-If the link says "Visit the Systane/Refresh/Ivizia/Optase Store" click it to make sure the brand's logo is at the top of the page and their other products appear. Tip: you can even bookmark this page and go back to it when you need to reorder.
-If the link says "Brand: Generic" or "Brand: Oasis" click it and you will be taken to a list of random products that might be related. You will not be taken to a manufacturer's storefront, so you know you will be buying the eye drops from a reseller. Always check with t...

EzriCare Artificial Tears Alert: What Dry Eye Patients Need to Know
Thank you for sharing this absolutely vital information 💫 I just used my Iris Ink again and the drops really sting so I thought this shouldn’t be happening and googled for reviews, came across your video and the drops went straight in the trash. Thank you 🙏
I'm glad you found this video! Since you had a reaction to the product we highly encourage you to make an adverse reaction report to the FDA: www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=consumer.reporting1

hiii, this video is great. I have a question, my mother uses a pf bottle and I want to get her something to help her squeeze it because she has trouble doing so. I tried looking some on Amazon but most aren't compatible with PF bottles, do you know one you can recommend?
Which brand of drops does your mother use? The easiest bottles to squeeze are the Ivizia Eye Drops and Optase Hylo Relief. They are in unique MDPF bottles. It's possible this squeezer would fit any MDPF bottle: www.amazon.com/Easily-Dispenses-Drops-Perfect-Arthritis/dp/B0CQPHPK6Q/
I wonder why they aren't banned in the USA? Thanks Dr.
The products are illegal but many sites, even Amazon, sell eye color changing drops. You can read a recent FDA warning letter to FancyDrops here: www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/fancy-drops-beauty-llc-688469-10242024
what ingredients are contained? if nothing happened, the ingredient is .. just water or anything? if any dangerous drug or chemicals contained, it is problem..
We don't trust the companies to report the correct ingredients or manufacture sterile eye drops. These drops could be dangerous, especially the ones that do not contain a preservative.
@DryEyeFoundation thanx for the res. actually no companies could be trusted because manufacturer is in china. and ingredients are not specified in package. btw I bought these and tried then I got pain in eyes and I had nosebleed I dont know why.. no color changed at iris as expected. maybe not just a water..
@@tac_kane Which product did you use? We can look up the ingredients for you. Since you had a reaction to the product we highly encourage you to make an adverse reaction report to the FDA: www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=consumer.reporting1

What happens when you still use it when it’s in a hot car? You die?

This crap has FINALLY been taken off the market! It took the FDA long enough to enforce basic drug safety laws but at least they finally did it. I wish there was punitive action or even criminal charges against those in charge for brazenly and knowingly committing fraud and violating drug safety laws.
We're curious what gives you the impression it's been taken off the market? It's still available for sale in all the places that it was, and we're still hearing from patients whose doctor recommended or sold it to them quite recently. We strongly share your sentiments about justice for this dangerous fraud. The FDA processes are slow and they are hampered by frankly not having enough authority to take decisive steps. They will probably have to have a court order, ultimately, to put a stop to this.
My doctor just recommended Regener-eyes AGAIN to me September 2024 even after i had a horrible reaction to it a year ago.
We are very sorry to hear that. Please can you take a few minutes to file a report with FDA about the reaction you had last year? One of the key reasons that Regener-Eyes is still on the market and still somehow maintaining cred with some doctors is that adverse events are not being reported. The FDA themselves said in their Warning Letter to the Regenereyes manufacturer in August that the manufacturer claimed not to be able to locate any records including complaint records and that they "could not remember where the records went or whether they were destroyed or not". Legitimate pharmaceutical companies have very rigorous protocols to ensure all product complaints get reported. When a company is not doing that, it makes it essential for patients to report their issues direct to the FDA. Here's the link www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=consumer.reporting1 There are additional ways to report issues such as by calling 1-800-332-1088 (direct phone number for Medwatch) or sending an email to ocod@fda.hhs.gov.
@@DryEyeFoundation I did a year ago and again this year. I actually met w a few FDA department heads. I just can’t believe this company is still selling product. You can go to their website and order it w a drs script. My dr said that his patients get upset w him when he runs out of stock. 😳
@@DryEyeFoundation I even have correspondence w Regener-Eyes telling them I had a bad reaction. FDA has them now.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you very much .... I was prescribed Theolux (in Italy) and I see that luckily it has the flat top on it. I even spoke to my chemist before buying it as I've known her for many many years, and she confirmed it was a good product. The only thing I don't like is that it takes ages for that drop to drop down and sometimes it misses my eye coz I've waited so long.
God bless you doctor, you are doing invaluable service for dry eye patients. It is such a desperate disease and for a layman to navigate through all the medications is next to impossible. Especially for post lasik people since we already have serious trust issues with doctors.
I have a question . On the ximonth presbyopia drops , they have a cap that is supposed to go back on I thought since there is so much in the vial. I use a viral 4 times before I throw it away . Is this an issue ?
Thanks for your question. We would be a lot more concerned about the safety of the eye drop itself than whether re-using the vials is safe. First, there are no legitimate over-the-counter presbyopia eye drops. Any company who is offering a product that claims to do this, we would have serious safety concerns about because are undoubtedly manufacturing the eye drops in a completely unregulated facility (i.e. that does not get inspected). We have looked into Ximonth and purchased their eye drops. This is definitely not a reputable company whose products you can trust. Considering that people have literally died or lost their site from contaminated eye drops, we strongly advise against using these eye drops. If you're interested in prescription eye drops for presbyopia there are legitimate options.
Thank you so much you helped me so much im using these drops alot and this video really increase my knowledge ❤

The old version used to work wonders for me -- the only treatment that ever has in 30 years. Not saying it's safe, but if someone can find a way to make what they did safely and professionally, it will be huge.
Has anything changed in the past year? I was given Regener-Eyes by my eye doc just yesterday (6-24-24) and told they contain amniotic fluid.
Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you were given incorrect information about Regener-Eyes. A lot has happened since I made this video back in 2022. Here are a couple of highlights. - In Aug/Sept 2022, Regener-eyes completely retooled all its advertising and its website and eliminated all mention of biologic ingredients or functions. They also changed from describing it as a prescription drug to describing it as an over-the-counter lubricant. (Please be aware that over-the-counter eye drops listed in the FDA database are generally not subject to any regulatory scrutiny at all due to the unique and outdated regulatory structure.) - In April 2023, the FDA issued a warning about amniotic fluid eye drops, specifically naming Regener-Eyes. - In June 2023 FDA inspected the manufacturing facility. We obtained a copy of the inspection report through a Freedom of Information Act request and the results were extremely disturbing, from the poor manufacturing quality and safety standards to all the "disappearing" records and samples. We also noticed that they told the FDA they had stopped using amniotic fluid in 2021. However, as you yourself have experienced, doctors are still telling people otherwise... in 2024. Some steps you may wish to takeL 1) Call the FDA's biologics division at 800-835-4709 option 1 and share your experience. 2) Share the following documents with your eye doctor. I think that the Form 483 is the most compelling, personally. No matter what eye doctors think about the concept of amniotic fluid eye drops, most are very cautious when it comes to potentially contaminated manufacturing facilities. - Form 483 from their inspection. static1.squarespace.com/static/62833cd80db3b342245285af/t/667c32f3cd81af569a395791/1719415542604/RPP+Form+483.pdf - Drug label for Regener-Eyes Pro . This shows it contains glycerin, sodium chloride (salt) and water. dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=e689001a-3640-1d45-e053-2995a90a4032 - Public Safety Notification about Regener-Eyes and StimulEyes eye drops. Stimuleyes eye drops were withdrawn from the market after this FDA notice, but Regener-eyes continued. www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/safety-availability-biologics/public-safety-notification-amniotic-fluid-eyedrops From all the reports that we hear from both eye doctors and customers, this is a very aggressive, clever and unscrupulous company.

Regarding the Systane products, Is there a change of appearence to the Systane Complete? I had used Complete and it was clear liquid, but a new bottle I have, has white cloudy liquid. This new bottle makes your eye feel like it has been glued.
My systane complete PF is milky white color be it the sample I got from my ophthalmologist or the ones I bought later in store. They don’t make my eyes feel glued at all. They’re in fact the only ones that give me relief.
@@LisaTaoThanks for this info. I just purchased the Complete PF and wasn't sure about the color.
@@mrsjohnson1743yes it’s milky white, not to worry. It has oil in it for meibomian glands disfunction. My guess is that it’s emulsified so it’s milky white like other eye drops that with oil in it to target MGD. I have 4 different brands that are similar types only one of them is not milky white.
For me, the most annoying symptom was blurry vision, does someone have the same experience?
Excellent information!
What are these brands?

I watched your video with much interest. Am filing Adverse Event after using AT which was probably the reason for my chronic eye irritation that never went away following cataract surgery in my right eye and the chronic nasal infection I suffered for the 2+ years when using AT. While I do have dry eye, it has never bothered me except when I tried to wear soft contact lenses. Switched to gas permeable and all was good. Frankly I have been bullied by the medical community who insists on using AT without any responsible oversight. AT are not benign. Abruptly stopped using this month after I suddenly couldn't see to sew from my left eye and that eye could no longer focus distance while driving. Immediately vision improved and 10 days later the nasal infection was gone. Also the eye irritation abated. Can't tell you what a relief it is. The medical community is so reckless and irresponsible to bully patients into using this stuff with nothing more than a weak basis for recommending. Will be seeing a corneal specialist at a large medical center in November because I need to get this left cataract fixed by someone who I hope will be more responsible. So your concerns over what is happening in the OTC AT market is justified but it is more than capitalism that you are fighting. It is ignorance of the experts. Thanks for your good work.
It would be a good idea to look up the artificial tear you were using to make sure it is registered with the FDA: alerts.eyedropsafety.org. Sorry to hear all you've gone through.
Hello, in Washington as well, Silverdale. I use cc video option in case I can't make out what is said, although it didn't capture the second choice of Rebecca's eye drops or Aidan's eye drops. Thank you for your very informative videos, I appreciate you all.

I am, well was up until today, on Regener Eyes Lite. Started around the first week of October 2023. My eye Dr gave it to me as a stem cell drop. Or that’s what I thought he said. Stopped today bc I looked up the weird side effects I’m having and gasped!
So sorry to hear that! Please be sure to report your experience to the FDA. www.biologiceyedrops.org/report-adverse-events

Thank you, however new bottles with filter are not easy to use and end expensive using them as liquid tends to be wasted trying to applyiing it correctly
My wife has been using Regener-Eyes as prescribed by her eye /Doctor. It seems to help and . . . she recently had a bad irritation in her right eye. It took some Rx drops to reduce the irritation. So . . . the question is . . . if she stops using the Regener-Eyes what is a good over-the-counter eye drops that is safe and not break-the-bank expensive. Thanks for what you are doing to make the world a safer place to live.
Sorry to hear that. Please consider reporting this experience through the FDA's Medwatch form. Consumer experience reports are an essential part of how the system works. www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=consumer.reporting1 We would also recommend making sure her eye doctor is aware of the FDA Public Safety Notification about Regenereyes. Many aren't, and just take the company at its own word. They have a years-long, well documented history of lying to doctors. www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/safety-availability-biologics/public-safety-notification-amniotic-fluid-eyedrops Regarding over-the-counter drop alternatives: People vary a lot in their OTC eye drop tolerances and preferences. Some of the ones our community tends to favor for severe dry eye symptoms include Oasis Tears Plus, FreshKote, and Optase brand (such as Optase Dry Eye Intense). Ivizia gel is also quite good.
I don’t understand why the FDA cannot shut their manufacturing facility down and cease the sale and fine them or whatever.
We still hope this will happen. The FDA's wheels grind slowly :(
Thankyou for this education!

@marleneflahert, I had terrible pain in my eyes from dry eye drops.
If works for me and my eye doctor the way no other drops do. Have you ever actually used the drops?
These eye drops are preservative-free and packaged in a multi-dose bottle which violates Federal law for safe eye drop packaging (laws pertaining to both prescription and over-the-counter eye drops). On safety grounds alone, we would not recommend anyone use these drops, regardless of what any individuals may claim about their potential benefits.
I tried them and had a really bad reaction. I asked the company for the ingredients and they refused saying people are trying to rip off their formula. I asked if they have FDA approval & they said it’s OTC. I said it’s a human biologic. They don’t so I called the FDA & they said they told them they are in violation of FDA practices & have been trying to get them to stop selling them. Just be careful bc eyes go fast, especially with non-preservative dropper bottles.
Well explained, video full of knowledge
