I got a 2018 SZ-T 4WD with a manual 1.0T engine as a little runabout. Although the engine's tiny the boost is all at the bottom end so it feels surprisingly sprightly, particularly if it's in sport mode. That, and its low weight, made it notably more fun to drive than the Sportage and Qashqai I also had test drives in and was the thing that tipped the balance for me. It's only if you've got it full of adults at motorway speeds that you notice it starting to run out of puff. The worst mpg I've seen around town is 35 but more normally it's 40ish. It'll easily do 50mpg on long runs.
The interior's a bit spartan, bordering on utilitarian. It's ok in the front where you've got pretty much everything you need but the rear lacks charging sockets or vents, and the tinted windows and dark fabrics make it a bit cave-like. Rear passengers get a lot of knee room and headroom (no sunroof on this model) but it is a small car so three adults in the back would be a squeeze. The small size, tight turning circle, heavily boosted steering and parking sensors all round do at least make it really easy to park.
I like it. It's an honest, unpretentious, functional car that's fun to drive. It's no Ferrari, no-one's going to want a poster of one on the wall, but it does what it sets out to do and does it well.

I have the 2018 S Cross 1.4 auto. Allgrip. The top of the range and I love it.
It's definitely fast enough has lots of character and you don't see thousands on the road.
I was sceptical of stop start but saw a video explaining how they've engineered it to be almost instant. So I haven't disabled it.
Took me a while to find the top model automatic but glad I did.
Hope it lasts as long as my Honda CR-V did!

The Scross is a great practical small crossover, alot better than most of its rivals pound for pound. I would have gotten this if it was a option, the 4.2" TFT MID you get in the newer one is the only feature I wish it had(the 360 cam is nice and all but nothing beats a good reverse camera thats properly aligned with good long guidelines is just as good).

    I don't think it's a CVT automatic, I'm fairly sure it's a normal torque converter set up.

@@Catchingcars well mine must be the exception my Scross 67 plate 1.4 sz5 automatic Allgrip definitely has a 6 speed normal automatic gearbox I believe sourced from Jatco. The earlier pre facelift one that I tried was 1.6 petrol auto had a cvt gearbox. I paid the extra couple of grand to avoid it as it was like driving a vacuum cleaner.
