8.6/10 the entire episode I was just in aww oh how well colin farrell just became penguin. blew my mind. it was almost distracting, I kept breaking out of it thinking "wow he is great, I can't believe its who it is."
A 7.8/8 for me. Great performances across the board. I personally thought the kid becoming Oz's protegé was a bit shoehorned in. However this is only based on the first episode and I see this easily becoming an 8,5 or even a 9 as the show picks up pace and hopefully sticks the landing.
I watched it wanting quality and I got quality. The amount of show don't tell in the episode was so gratifying. It doesn't pretend the audience is dumb, and still manages to surprise us. Penguin as a physical presence is genius - all the penguin touches like the odd walk, the scars around his nose suggesting a beak, the healed over harelip, the constant head bobbing when he talks and even the bushiness of his eyebrows. I like the street kid coming in as our eyes and ears. I like "Watch the sunrise!" Set-ups and payoffs with slush-puppies. The CD in the disc changer. I really like Sophia. You can see her think even as you're distracted by those eyes. Clancy Brown, yes. Just letting Clancy Brown be Clancy Brown. Doug Stamper being Doug Stamper. All the threads being cast out and I'm actually anxious about how it all plays out. The Penguin is making some big swings but he has a lot of vulnerabilities - which is nice to see in a Main Character. I really enjoyed it.
For those in Europe wondering if there has ever been a city built below sea level and it's major flaw being a "sea wall" google New Orleans Hurricane Katrina.
The thing about the name, in no way does someone named "Cobblepot" belong in an Italian crime family. Cobb you could at least say was shortened or changed as a lot of Italian surnames were at Ellis Island. So, I dont think the name change is as much about making him sound cool as it is trying to fit the character within his surroundings/story.
There are very few people who agree with you on this. It's a lot of setup, sure. But THAT scene was shocking(if a bit telegraphed). I really don't know what you are talking about
@@nathanlandolt5505 not just THAT scene, but there was also so much great character work here. Sofia and Viti’s scene, everything with Francine, and also that great ending with the Trolley system. Plus, the episode completely changed the criminal landscape in Gotham. All 3 major crime families: the Maronis, Gigantes, and now Oz’s group are all shifting allegiances and new rivalries and alliances are forming. This episode was fantastic lol
Do IGN's job for them... What would you rate The Penguin 1 to 10?
I loved it. Easy 9!
I loved it!! just wondering how his car is completely fine after the car chase? 🤨 9/10

New orleans is under sea level.
How you identify Clancy Brown is a generational qualifier. He’s the Kurgan if you’re genX, Mr Krabs if you’re a millennial
Or Lex Luthor if you're a millennial
And he’s Hadley in Shawshank Redemption for every generation!
It's better to burn out than to fade away!
The man in the right seems like he was griping about some really contrived stuff imo
I'll watch this after I've watched the episode. This is unnecessary information but I'm commenting for the algorithm
It's always appreciated!
I've been waiting for this!

It’s more of a New Jersey vibe than a Chicago vibe I know it’s all the same to you Brit’s hahaha
Glad they put “niggle” up there. 🤣🤣🤣
Just in case!
People don’t realize this fact. We like this show because his charter was build off Tony Sopranos likeness. This is why it is a hit.
Do you think people don't realize it? Literally all videos and reviews I've saw said in some point the Tony inspiration
Looking forward to watching this one
Where is marko - I love him xxx
He's waiting in the Agatha All Along review that's being released in just a few hours!

He’s an anti-villain protagonist
Episode 5.... it just feel off a cliff. Episode 4 was a masterpiece... episode 5 is a joke.
Tf are you talking about? Episode 5 is just slower, but it’s still fantastic.

Yeah he really feels like year one batman who was yet to gain experience so no not awfully casted
Keep watching Snyder crap 😂😂
Gordon is the worst character, he whispers the entire time. The audio on the batman is terrible.
If you think this you're a literal 4 year old. You're parents need to limit your tablet usage big guy.
