The opening scene is one of my literal worst nightmares. You're just walking home nice and easy and then a random car kidnaps you. The happy music doesn't make it better, but I LOVE that one shot.
The whole ID thing from the beginning was because she didn’t want them to know his name bc he would be missing soon. Seemed like she was trying to protect him but she was actually protecting her family.
Ok but let’s give a round of applause to ourselves for getting Billy into horror movies. “I never watch horror ever, this is gonna be the only time I react to horror on my channel” *continues to do one every month*💀
I didn't know what to expect when I watched this movie but I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the best acting I've seen and Jordan did a fantastic job directing. So much subliminal messages. Everytime you watch you pick up more..oh and Rose deserved some awards cause she played that role too damn good.
3:05 The cop asking for his ID is an interesting detail because she makes it appear like she is defending him because that is bullshit (which it obviously is), but on a rewatch when you know the truth, she’s actually probably trying to make sure there isn’t a record of him being in that area - since the cop would run the ID through the system, there’d be a paper trail if he disappeared 😬👍
Except... no. Who called the police? Rose. Why would she if she were covering her trail? The cop would be more likely to remember the uppity bitch with the black guy instead of a compliant couple. For the final reason, if all went as planned, whoever won Chris's body could just pretend to be Chris. No missing person. No reason to cover.
"Why is she dressed like Baby Caillou?" made me lose my shit laughing. EDIT: "Now these fools poppin' up like Power Ranger villains" had a similar effect.
He was in for it when he got in the car with her. "Never let a predator take you to a second location." Of course, this started when he began dating her but I digress. Also, he allowed himself to get stabbed in the hand by the mom because he was letting her get the first move. Painting her as the aggressor physically, not just verbally and emotionally(cuz that commonly doesn't hold in court), this is a big reason why bully victims can't defend themselves. This method drilled into oppressed parties. For example: guy calls cop on gf for bussing his head with a bat, cops come only to find out this "domestic dispute" was actually the woman defending herself from the PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE man. BUT she hit him first. Unfortunately, even though he threatened to harm her and was going to hit her as usual, she struck him before he made the first physical move, and HE called the cops... The woman was arrested, sadly. Rose is a very great embodiment of being born into a system and how complacency turns into compliance, then into active participation. You think the bare minimum is fine and she's a "white ally" but there's always those "little things". She's aware of her position but chooses to "ignore it", enjoying her benefits. She's "the preference", the "white feminist", the "Massa's daughter".
At one point when Rose is wearing her red and white striped shirt, she hugs Chris with her arms around his neck, to resemble a noose, and Chris is wearing a blue jacket, their combined look resembling the American flag.
Yall are exactly the type of guys I want to have in a sus situation 🤣🤣🤣 yall were immediately *NOPE* instantly the SECOND things looked off. W mans I'd feel safe wory you because we are on the same page👌
Peele himself basically said this movie was Stepford Wives but with black folks instead of women. Even the main protag's photography is tied with the protag from Stepford Wives. However, with the og Stepford Wives ending on a bleak note, Peele chose to give us a happier ending.
This movie was so creepy to me,I never realized te pics on the wall behind her, till now this was a great collaboration, and reaction. I don't know if you guys realized the dude that he took the pic of,that told him to "Get Out,at the party was the same guy that was kidnapped in the beginning of the movie.
Loved the reactions and collab!! Defiantly need more collaborations from you two your humor and commentary are spectacular!! And great video to watch before I head for class!
"SINK! SINK! SINK!!" 😅🤣😅 Billy saying "Mid, put that cup down! Put your damn cup down!" is hilarious! Guess what I'm shouting when somebody's annoying me while I drink coffee?!
I'm in Camp Billy; as someone who is highly suggestable, I actually love hypnotism though. Granted, it has to be with a trusted hypnotist or vetted videos/audios. At the very least in a safe place, and honestly if you want to be extra safe start with something that has a way for you to disengage built into the start. Something like "If at any point you feel uncomfortable or if anything comes up and you need to come out of trance, you can at any point". Personally, I find hypnotism very relaxing, and funnily enough I think this movie is one of the major events for me that got me into it. That and when I got hypnotized at college on stage. My favorite technique is probably fractionalization. The hypnotist takes you up and down, in and out of trance; and even now if I hear a snap. . . I relax a bit. In any case, hope y'all are staying hydrated and relaxed. Thank you for the video, and have an awesome rest of your day!
Get Out was a surprise to me. I didn’t have any expectations going into this, but I really enjoyed it. This movie is both intense and dark as there are scary elements, but it also has some pretty funny humor. Even the cinematography is very well done. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, gives a good performance. I didn’t know what to think of the movie before I watched it, but I’m glad I did.
Wow, what an intense experience watching *Get Out*! From the very first scene, I found myself on the edge of my seat, completely immersed in the tension and eerie atmosphere. The way Jordan Peele crafts suspense is nothing short of genius-each small detail feels meticulously placed to build off the overarching themes of racism and social commentary. While I was captivated by the film's horror elements, what truly struck me was how it expertly blends genuine scares with biting satire. Chris’s journey as he navigates the unsettling dynamics of his girlfriend’s family was both horrifying and profoundly thought-provoking. The subtle yet potent imagery, like the deer and the constant references to the eyes and vision, resonated with me long after the credits rolled. It’s fascinating how the film encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences with racial identity and societal expectations. Not to mention, the performances were outstanding! Daniel Kaluuya’s portrayal of Chris was so authentic; you could feel every ounce of unease he was experiencing. And can we talk about the creepy yet captivating atmosphere that was established? The score and visual style perfectly complemented the storytelling, amplifying the sense of dread. The ending left me with so many emotions-it's not just a horror film but a necessary commentary on real-world issues. I can't wait to discuss this with friends and dive deeper into the symbolic elements. Also, the way it expertly flips stereotypes on their head while maintaining an engaging narrative was a breath of fresh air. Overall, *Get Out* is not just a movie; it’s an experience that lingers and sparks conversations about important societal matters long after watching it. Thank you for sharing your reaction! I love hearing everyone's interpretations and favorite moments from this groundbreaking film. What was your favorite scene?
Billy: "MID was asking to watch Get Out and I didn't know if he was sending me a mixed message" Bro why'd you get me laughing 5 minutes into the video XD
The bit where the maid was "having a conversation with herself" was the real woman snapping out of it for a second, before the white woman inside tells her essentially, "No no no. Don't do that. Go back to the sunken place."
This was so good! Billy is on to something though…I can definitely see some people out there doing some shit like this as sad as that is to say. Loved seeing you both together though…had a great time!
I just watched this for the first time a week ago, and the amount of Easter eggs/callbacks I've read about in RUclips reaction comments and on IMDB, and even realized on my own, are INSANE. Literally just today, I was thinking about the dinner scene and how much Jeremy annoyed the piss out of me. At first I thought him grilling Chris about MMA fighting and trying to engage him in it was because he was trying to gauge how hard it would be to fight him in the event he tries to leave. Now I'm thinking it's because he was hoping his dad would allow him to have his brain transplanted into Chris' body. Jeremy is clearly on drugs/an alcoholic, and figures that rather than get clean, he could just start over in a new body with his dad's help and become an MMA fighter. The dad gets irritated and says "Jeremy, why don't we let someone else have the floor for a second?" not as an act, but as a way to let his f***-up son know that he's not getting Chris for free; one of the wealthy family members is going to bid as usual. 😳
Allison Williams deserved an Oscar just for that phone call scene. I stand by that. Your reactions are so funny! Jordan Peele really is a modern horror master.
`you were invested in the photos behind her when she was "searching for talent", but he way she was "eating the cereal is also a thing". grabbing the cereal and drinking the milk separately is also a sign of the parents installing the thing of keeping "whites"and "colored" separated in her
Idk if you've already reacted because i just found your channel but "Us" from Jordan Peele is amazing. I didn't get it the first time I watched it because I was drunk in the theatre.
Great reaction you guys! Love to see both of you reacting to stuff. This movie is SO INTERESTING and I'm glad you both enjoyed it. Billy binges... I dunno I never thought it was real but maybe you have a point.
19:47 It's a triumphant moment when you think of the dad saying 'we are the god trapped in cocoons' and then think back on what you've read about the gods and realise 'he knows nothing about the gods' - if they did that man would know that something that makes all the gods angry is when mortals like him start talking as if they are gods. It always freaks me out how the actress for Rose can go from looking super worried to having zero emotions in 2 seconds.
YES
Right! She deserved awards for the switch up
That whole sequence where she's on the phone to Rod and her voice sounds utterly distraught but her face is a complete blank gets me every time.
Sorry what timestamp?

The actress who plays Georgina is crazy amazing! Like crying and smiling at the same time ain't nothing!
