I watched this review in Jan 2019, I still have this little amp, and it still works fine. I've dropped it, stepped on it, kicked it, I've spilt everything from soda to water on it, and it still works. What the heck did they use to make it? Space metal? Souls of their enemies? Idk, but it was like $60 bucks at a Guitar Center, so a newbie guitarist like me can just jam my heart out. I named it Blumblyboo.
@@devvratpandey2980 To be honest, I've accidentally left the thing on for a day or two, and it still played fine. I think if the speaker in the amp isn't producing sound, it won't use the battery. It uses 4 AA batteries, and I don't remember if it came with batteries when purchased, but if it did, I'd change the batteries out asap, to something like Duracell or whatever.
Ok so i just want to ask you 2 questions. 1st one is can i ask you a queation? 2nd can i make the amp sound less loud when using distortion? Kinda new to guitar
Back in grade 9 we would all bring in our mini amplifiers and jam in the hallway at school. I swear our whole class played guitar back then. Mini amps 15 years ago did not sound as good as this, that's for sure.
Yeah, they sounded like ass!.. I had one that looked like a half stack and u could clip on your belt.. Blew the thing up by running a distortion pedal into it and cranking it lol
Been shamelessly using this for recording demos and let me tell you, it's a godsend for those who live in apartments but still want a somewhat authentic recording.
I was worried when I bought this wee amp that it would just eat batteries, but the 6x Duracell that I installed on the first day are still working and that was a year ago. Pretty pleased with that!
Apparently the delay doesn't use anywhere near the juice that reverb does. Mine is still on its 1st set. I'm impressed, and like Marty says, it's fun! And so portable! Thanks for the review, Marty!
It sounds great for such a tiny amp, and from what I could tell, it didn't sound very hissy or have any dirty background noise when cranked right up. Impressive.
Sounds pretty good! The best part is that you plugged right into the amp and played it! No miking into a PA or something to distract from the sound ...After all we want is to hear the amp so we can decide if it is worth it in this complicated world...Thanks for the Review, Marty...Rock on!!!
This amp is amazing. I sometimes forget I’m playing a battery powered mini amp, it sounds surprisingly good for the size. Also the batteries I placed over a year ago are still working. Wish I had this as my practice p when I was just starting out playing.
I have this amp, the British Flag version. I just love it. I also bought a $35 Ammoon 2.4g wireless guitar system. That way you don’t have to worry about knocking it off the table by the guitar chord which is easily stiff enough to move it. The power adapter was $12 extra. I play this amp far more than any other amp I own. Want to sit on the front porch? How about taking out the amp and jamming? Highly recommend it. As a professional pilot it goes everywhere with me, as well as my Traveler ES-2.
In combination with my electric guitar controls this provides a satisfying range of tones and simple effects. I've been using it as an all-purpose amplifier so I noticed that the batteries that came with it lasted for many hours. Then the power light began to dim slightly, but it still worked fine for a while after. Then as it started to get really dim the sound quality began to fail. So there is a clear indication when you need to change batteries soon.
I have one since they came out. Since then I play everyday a few hours with headphones on, over backingtracks. It sounds OK through the speaker but the real strength is the headphones output. It then plays the backingtrack in stereo and sets your guitar in the middle. That sounds great. On headphones it draws around 40 mA so batteries last long. I play blues/rock/progrock. I have 2 Fender tube-amps but seldom use them since I have the Fly (bought them in the 80's when I played in a bands). I'm thinking about selling them and buy a small modelling amp with a lot more effects, more EQ settings and mains poowered. (But it must be stereo with a headphones output and mp3 input like the fly)

The Boss Katana is not in the same league as this amp. If I had the money I would buy that. The Blackstar is the best in the mini amp category and more affordable. I am buying one tomorrow.
Hi Marty! Just bought the Blackstar Fly 3 along with the extension cab, power supply- a Demo model they had from......... Heck ya Sweetwater! For $110.49! Normally the power supply is sold seperately- @ $30 so at the price I paid it was a steal! I haven't really messed with it much yet but thanks for your demo of the product. The sounds and features you explored affirmed a very wise buy on my part! Rock On Brother! I really, really enjoy your content! Especially the Gibson factory tour and your dream guitar! Ya.
I own one of these. One of the best gear purchases I have made over the years. The batteries last for quite some time. I love it. You can even buy the combo online where you get a 3w speaker with it. I didn't, but I was temtped. Got mine used for $43.00 through Guitar Center.
Tim S hey broo i want to buy this amp.. but my father refused cuz it powered by batteries.. could u please tell me how long this thing can long last using batteries?
I don't know for sure. I bought mine a few months ago and the batteries that were in it are still good. You can also buy the power cord on Musician's Friend for $19.99.
Can anyone vouch for the volume of this amp? I'd love to know if I could keep up with a guy who's playing acoustic guitar and singing (no mic). It would be awesome to bring this along instead of my "practice amp" that weighs 25 pounds. Marty commented about the volume, but I'm curious if anyone has thoughts.
I got one of these for GBP26.00 by subbing to Total Guitar Magazine. Offer probably only available in Great Britain and possibly Europe but six issues of Total Guitar AND a Blackstar Fly 3 for almost f*** all? Why not! Excellent review, Mr S.
This- along with the Boss Katana Mini- is one of the best mini practice amps I've ever played/heard. Unfortunately I made the choice to purchase the Yamaha THR10ii. Terrible. Inconsistent volume, and the lead and high gain channels are basically unusable. And for 300 bucks. Lmfaoo, I'm an idiot 🤣

I could be wron but I believe the ISF EQ is actually a scoop frequency.
You need to teach us the blues licks you played at 3:52!

Stevie Ray Vaughn - Pride and Joy
Have one of these little guys, awsome for practices riffs and ideas. Will have to try some these tones out. Cool Vid.
Marty would be great as an MC in Vegas. ty 4 vid
The Orange Micro Crush is worth checking out too
And the Boss Katana mini
Orange amps are ugly tho
They are double the price
no joe
is that bad or good?
The Boss Katana is not in the same league as this amp. If I had the money I would buy that. The Blackstar is the best in the mini amp category and more affordable. I am buying one tomorrow.
No kids! You won't actually sound like Marty playing through this combo. That's decades worth of playing.
Still Good..bought the extension Box too...
phones nowadays are lacking the headphone jack and it sucks
do you think if I either used the headphone output or miked this mini amp into a mixer I could gig with this amp?
Ya.
Amazing. Especially the clean setting.
What's the name of the first song at the beginning of this video Marty played over???
Great review and superb guitar playing!
I just got one. I can now play along with your lesson and hear my self play along. It’s awesome......
Dude you cold on that guitar!!!
Fast forward to now and they have the Fly 3 Charge now. I don't need it, but probably won't make through the evening without getting it.
What’s the name of the song in 3:55??
Is this good for an acoustic or classical also?
Awesome, thanks! Can you teach the funky rhythms you played in the video? :)
Could you review the Vox
AC2 RhythmVOX Mini Amp w/ Built-in Beats please.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
best amp out there i use it with earphones plug in my phone and jam all day hour and hours of fun
If your buddy is playing in a quiet room, then any micro amp will be fine.
It definitely can overpower an acoustic guitar. I love mine. I got the pink paisley
Is there a cable for putting the AMP in the wall. Included ???
Man, that is one really nice Tele you have there!
does this support pedal effects?
Great little video, really settled my decision. love your tele as well. thanks.
Is that Tele Arctic white or cream?
