Isle of Wight Steam Railway, August 2020

The Isle of Wight Steam Railway runs for 5.5 miles between Wootton and Smallbrook Junction, where there is a connection to the Island Line. Located approximately halfway along the route we find Havenstreet station, the railways headquarters and the start of our journey. Join me as we explore the station area and watch the trains come and go, before visiting the 'Train Story' exhibition, and eventually boarding our train for a round trip of the line. With my own compartment due to Covid measures, I enjoy a full journey from Havenstreet to Smallbrook Junction, non-stop to Wootton and back to Havenstreet, where our visit concludes.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is a full family fun day out, and is a must whilst visiting the island!

I retired from firing Mr Stroudley's Terriors some years ago and gosh I still miss the fun of working these wonderful engines. The engine at the start was beautifully turned out by the volunteers. Such a pleasure to see the old lady still earning her keep after all these years.
