I know woody doesn’t mean to cut this guy off when he’s talking and I think it’s funny cause you can see the stress on Gus’s face. And it’s cause woody gets so excited and can’t help his self. They really are the odd couple.
I keep finding myself yelling at Woody to be quiet! And then it's like he wants to tell this guy what he's done wrong so bad instead of just enjoying the story, smh!
@@alliboy23 It's honestly infuriating.. But maybe I just have a low tolerance for that kind of interrupting. The dude didn't seem like he was done with the story, when he said they got out and were wet and smelly, he then gets interrupted, and we're still not back to the ending of the story 4 minutes later in the video.
U no gus gave woody shit 😂🙈 after the video ended
Unless Gus starts speaking up then Woody will think it's ok. I don't think Woody even realises he's doing it so maybe people in the comments can help him out because i bet if he watched himself do it he would be quite surprised in himself. Woody needs to get a toy octopus and Gus a toy shark and the first one to talk picks theirs up and the other doesn't pick theirs up and talk till others put theirs down octopus 🦑 🦈🐡🐙🐳🐬🦀🦞🦐🐠🐟🐚
As someone with very bad adhd woody is my spirit animal lol. I’m not bothered by the pauses at all though, I like them 🤷♀️
Tbh it's weird but I love complete darkness it's calming and peaceful that's why I've always wanted to cave dive in Goin diving for the first time this summer and I'm so excited
Guys!! Big fan!!! I watched a video yesterday from 60 mins Australia where a diver was eaten by a whale and LIVED !! It’s a crazy story would love to see your reaction.
I can send it to you if need be let me know.
Already reacted to it…it’s not what you expect
Bring him diving so you can bring him on more
So now when woody gets mad and saying divers and other people are responsible for empty tanks, litter and other damage or things of the like, that they leave when going diving or caving or whatever, now they can hit back and say, "well at least we didn't ever think they 'put out a fire' and start one of the worst fires in Florida's history, as he says"
Woody causally: I accidentally started one of the biggest fires in south Florida
*bruh* 💀
Edit: please don’t let woody near any explosives man lmao
Wait what? Woody started one of the largest fires in Florida history? I need to hear this story holy crap. BTW Dylan is a hell of a good storyteller. Lucky to be alive. And he's right about total darkness, I live in Kentucky so at least once a year I do some cave tour and inevitably they all turn out the lights to give you an idea of what total darkness is. Still the darkest I've ever seen was death valley at night on a new moon. That was quite an experience, especially being outside.
How is death valley darker than a cave? There’s stars outside..
@@AMK544 Its uncanny. Its definitely not darker than a cave, a bit of an exaggeration but there's nothing for your light to reflect off of and it is way way way darker than you expect. As for the stars, all they did was show you vague jagged outlines of the hills or mountains around you. Death valley is a valley and has mountains to the west so its like being surrounded by walls at night because you absolutely cannot judge the distance of hills/ mtns around you. The only light that did give you a sense of distance were brake lights travelling up and out of the valley, like two floating red eyes that got further and further away as time passed. It was high tension just driving through because all you would see was maybe 15 feet in front of your car, where the headlights reflect off of the ground but that was it and to top it off you're completely isolated. I got out to go to the bathroom and I could not see my hand right in front of my face. I'm not surprised a bit that people may not believe it but trust me, if you are ever there at night on a new moon you will see. Or not to be more specific, you will not see and your expectations will be blown away.
@@Nefville are you talking about the headless death valley in canada??
@@elit3alex39 No the one in California. I know the valley you are talking about, I am never going in there hahaha
When Gus said “ you look like a 45 year old woman going to the Kentucky derby “ I literally spit laughed my coffee all over myself 🤣
TOTALLY.
You were then AIMING for yourself since by spitting it, it should NOT get all over you IF it was reeeally funny and you committed to a good spit laugh... AMATEUR OR LIES...
@@XstonedmonkeyzX have you ever lost your drink from laughing? It definitely gets all over you lol there's no avoiding it
Woody is the fashionista, that keeps the show going, even if the story gets off track. Thank you for your wonderful choice of colour! Keep it up!
The costume change made me laugh.
He's getting more and more ridiculous in every video, and not in a good way unfortunately.
@@rustafar_2354 how so?
@@rustafar_2354 i disagree tbh
@@rustafar_2354 what are you actually talking about?
Hearing this story, the adult part of my brain is telling me of course it's a terrible idea but the 11 year old part of my brain knows I would also definitely go into that mine
Same; that’s called maturity. Lol
I love the sport of diving. I have never dived before. My nephew dives once a week. He has many certifications in diving. I told him what I need to learn and practice this sport. He told me you don't need anything, I will take you with me next week. And during one dive you will learn everything. He always tells me that he violates the instructions and goes to great depths solo. After watching your channel and many videos here. I'm sure my nephew is going to die in one of his dives because he's kind of impulsive. I think I would have died if I believed him and went without diving courses.
You have more sense than he does. Get trained and ignore the peer pressure. I'm sure you'll love diving.
Dylan's story is very frightening. Flash flooding can happen so unexpectedly and so very quickly. Thank you for sharing this video.
Dylan is a terrific storyteller! What a story! Thank you! A part of me wishes that we could get pictures of that mine but obviously I don’t want anyone to risk their life in order to get them. Sometimes it’s better to just imagine.
Woody finding out he can blow up a jet ski and the look on Gus's face was epic. The whole time Woody is in heaven and Gus just shaking his head. ROFLAMO. Great Video guys. Enjoyed Dylan being on the show. Cant wait to see. more.
his comment about total darkness is spot on.
im a pretty adept caver, had my headlamp crap out on my about 600 feet underground once.
no biggie, i had spares in my pack, but man id be lying if i said getting a lamp out of my bag in the absolute dark was an easy task.
I am a fellow ex sewer tunnel exploring kid and I loved this video thank you guys :-)
Your guest Dylan is a brilliant story teller, frightening though.
Funnily enough, when I played subnautica years ago before I knew anything from this channel, it gave a good mild panic when you go into a cave or a wreck and think "oh I'll just remember I went this way" then then suddenly you're completely lost with a quarter tank left when it took you half a tank to get it.
Obviously nothing like the real thing, but a few deaths in game made me *very* cautious about air usage and using the dive reel in game lol
I love how Woody talks about the little steps.
That's exactly how you accomplish anything. If you've ever done anything of worth, you don't start at the top, you start by doing extremely small steps that ultimately lead towards your goal.
I love you Woody!
What an incredible story and instant chemistry between Dylan and Woody, you guys have to collaborate again. (Hang jn there, Gus!)
I love how you guys added pictures to the story! It kept it interesting and made it so you can see in your mind the story playing out!
Outstanding video ! Great story, like, MrBallen level story, told by a great storyteller. Thank you guys, what a great way to start the week !
Dylan man , what a storyteller, loved every minute of it. Felt like I was literally there with you guys.
Any confined space is dangerous. Especially when it is dark. Panic is real. Even without water a confined space can fill with gas displacing oxygen. Without water you can still fall or get stuck and wedged in a restriction. Water just makes things exponentially more dangerous especially with high flow and low temperature. Training needs to happen in a controlled environment.
Guys, please do an special about the movie Thirteen Lives!! I watched it yesterday and it was amazing. There is so much we didn't get about the rescue that we can now appreciate because of the movie...
Having read many stories about people caught up in flooding in various canyons and caves, it sounds nightmarish. People underestimate the power even relatively small streams of water can have.
When I was in the Marines a few of us snuck off and explored some tunnels that the Japanese had built during WWII on Iwo Jima. Really cool, tons of stuff left over from the war but there were stairs that would just keep going down and down and I ended up feeling weird and wanting to go back. I think back on how dumb that was lol
I wonder what was down there...
@@LibbyKay188 who knows! There were old rifles, ammunition crates, canteens and a bunch of stuff left there. The Japanese say they still don't know where all those tunnels go today
@@shelbydunn3031 pretty awesome, glad wasnt any traps of any sort hanging around! Experience is priceless
I want to explore the military tunnels under SF from the war so bad, there's miles of tunnels down there still that are basically unused except for storage near entrances. The bunkers and forts near there are awesome but the one I want to see most got fully sealed off finally unfortunately but people were partying down there back to like the 70s
There’s supposedly 200,000 bunkers that were built across the US during WW2 and a majority of them are abandoned/forgotten.
What a crazy story, flash floods are the only thing that scares me about dry caving
Another reason why Cave Diving is better and safer :)
@@DIVETALK Unless you bring your rebreather with you while dry caving. Then it's the best of both worlds.😉
@@slartybarfastb3648 the rebreather isn't going to save you from hi flow, siphon, and no visibility... unless you're Ed Sorenson...
@@dekulruno That's true.
@@DIVETALK gus definitely replied to this comment
Amazing and hilarious on so many levels. Gus, I am sorry that Dylan betrayed you by enabling Woody and the Jetskis...If you need a new best friend, I am here for you!
Absolutely loved this story time episode! Thanks to Dylan for sharing - I’ve already subbed to his channel.
(Also looking forward to “Georgia Chernobyl”… and jet skis!!! 😆)
JET SKIES !!!
Somebody was watching over these guys that day. Thank goodness they got out. Thank for posting this story, guys.
Great story and well told, I could envision the mine well. Love the hat Woody.
Absolutely love the story they share on here on personal experiences
Lol…good story. Brings back some memories of being 11 living on a huge army post in Germany that had been a Nazi pow camp in WW2. We used to go looking for live ammunition from the war. My friends dad was in demolition and we liked getting written up in the post news paper. Course we got chewed out too but…
Love you guys! I’m not a diver, but my father was. I just turned him on to your channel. First video I made him watch? Chernobyl!!!! He couldn’t stop laughing and shaking his head.
Take care and be safe!
Why must modern TV be ruined with all the added and painfully fake tension and drama, or the recaps every 30 seconds? So many shows that are interesting in their own right are so hard to watch due to this.
It goes back to 79 a.d. when the first Satanic Church was founded (on siciliy, I believe) in turn creating usury and debt.
You should react to "Thirteen Lives" the movie based on the rescue of 13 Thai soccer team kids that got stuck in a cave when it became flooded by the monsoon rains. You'll get to experience the effort of the filmmaker in making cave diving somewhat realistic-ish in movies, but are probably gonna cringe at all the flutter kicking 😆
Oh great suggestion 😊
Awesome story. I looked up large fish at the bottom of a dam and the algorithm gods sent me to this channel. Not a diver at all, but learning about it has been great! Keep up the great content!
When the camera shot went back to Woody and he had that f****** Driving Miss Daisy hat on man I almost lost my s***!
Gus: "You're gonna look like lil Nas X." 😭😭😭😭 I don't know how many heads that went over, but I dang near choked on my sweet tea when he said that. Omg that had me in tears. TOTALLY unexpected. IYKYK 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥
Glad you caught that one...my sense of humor goes over Woody's head 9 out of 10 times :D
@@DIVETALK Woody could totally rock a Lil Nas X outfit, though. Mostly because he's Woody. :D
@@TrappedinSLC 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
I love how all three are in the same room and there is three different backgrounds
A mine level being sealed off isn't necessarily a sign of danger (aside from being in a mine), it's pretty common to either fill the abandoned level with wasterock from the new level or to control airflow through the working parts of the mine.
Source: I watch a lot of questionably qualified RUclipsrs messing about in mines.
It's usually to block off an adit if it is outside. So the mine company can wash their hands of it and walk away. That doesn't fly these days lol most times inside is a collapse, sometimes it's back-filled to the back (ceiling) but that isn't common.
I also have a questionably qualified YT channel exploring mines BTW lol 'Explore! Underground' check it out if you're interested
Pink is the best color ever, I fucking love your style woody!
When I see dive talk.. I know today is going to be a great day!
This story reminded me of things like the Bolton Strid and the Mossdale Beck/Caverns. Bolton Strid isn't really something you go into, but if you fall in there, you probably won't come back up. Mossdale Caverns is mostly known these days for the accident back in the 60s where part of a group of cavers got stuck because huge amounts of water started pouring in from the rain outside. Once the entrance was submerged, there was no getting back out alive. The only people that survived were the four that decided to leave the cave a few hours into the expedition.
Bolton Strid that one in the Uk where the 'banks' are actually massive rock overhangs and if you fall into it the unbelievably strong current drags you into submerged overhang environments?
I might be thinking of something else but if I'm right then I think I'm going to like this vid cause that place is treacherous.
@@drpainglove3389 Yeah, it's what the video reminded me of for some reason. Water + getting stuck underground = terrifying to me.
Glad you got to tell your story in person and this wasn't a Dive Talk Reacts to Mr Ballen covering a mine exploration tragedy from 30 years ago.
"Wait can I still get in trouble for this, I'm 45..."🤣 I know that feeling all to well! Great video as always!
Has Woody's mic stand been sprayed pink, or is it just the reflection of his shirt (which is probably visible from space, so it's likely)? Haha. Really wanna send him a hot pink mic stand and a hot pink ElectroVoice RE20 mic ... that'd be perfect! 👌
Gus... You look like a 45 year old lady attending a Kentucky Derby .... Bahaha.....
Boy do i have a channel on mines. Abandoned and Forgotten Places. Gly explores western mines.
Inspired me to go out and find my great grandpas mine in the Mojave desert
Dylan needs to grow a full beard or go full shave. Looks like he glued a merkin to his chin and has the audacity to poke fun of Woody for his neon pink shirt... lmao!!
Woody looks bangin in his neon pink always!!
Woody "Cowboys and Aliens" Woodford.
Honestly some of us are just here for Woody and Gus and not necessarily the diving stuff. So this was cool too.
Dylan needs to shave that merkin looking mess off his chin!! I can’t take him seriously with that!!! 😂
If you dress up Woody as a cowboy and he doesn't match the Woody in Toy Story.....
You can never catch a break from Woody trying to take you dry caving can you, Gus?
There is something so gratifying when things actually come full circle. Great Episode! Wait Wait WAIT! I just realized that Gopher the GOPHER also came full circle I literally just saw it on the episode OUT of AIR - Story of a Real Dive Emergency hahahahha hehe. okay maybe I'm the only one who finds that funny and also still strangely gratifying :)
Something that could have happened but thank god it didn’t it’s bad air, you never go into a mine where there is stationary water because it can have bad air so when you go and step on it, it releases the poisonous gas and kills you
I wonder if Woody realized he spent a large amount of the video flipping us off 😂 13:04
You gotta let Woody wear pink holsters....that said, that better not include pink chaps...that's a bridge too far. 😂
Thanks for the great show guys!
Will you guys react to the film Thirteen Lives?
Love your show. PADI Divemaster now old man.
My problem is not that I can't tell a story- I'm actually really good at it- but when you have to write it instead of talking- ppl won't read anything of any length. You have to be able to boil it down to just the relevant facts or ppl tune out. For instance-
When I was about 17, I got invited by some friends to go to a cave about 40 miles away with a lake in it- an underground lake. It's in Belgreen Al. and it's on TVA property so now it's closed to the public- which is wise, it's a dangerous place. But when I was a kid, it wasn't controlled- I don't even think TVA owned the property back then. So, in my mind I'm thinking about the "caves" we've already been in- which were super safe and not even really what most would consider a cave. I figured this was the same because as far as I knew we didn't have any real caves that are truly dangerous in our area- I was wrong. As soon as we got there- we had run by Walmart and everyone bought a little cheapo 3-5 dollar flashlight- I saw, this was the real thing- an actual cave that went over a mile underground to a water fall that fell into an underground pool (lake). You had to stop at that point or, repel the waterfall to keep going. So, we started into this thing and I knew when the bats came flying out and nearly knocked me off the rock I was climbing up to get in, this probably wasn't the best idea- but in we went. It was really tough going to because there were little caves and tunnels and false caves and stuff everywhere- you had to pick your way through and take the right route. At one point we even had to lie on our bellies and crawl through water a few inches deep for about 30 feet or so before it opened up into another huge room. And every room it opened up into- you had to really search to find the exit, the tunnels and stuff were not obvious at all- you had to look for them. So, we made it all the way back to the waterfall, turn around and started coming back out and we had just turned around and got started good when- the first flash light went out. Just died and wouldn't come back on- surprise, surprise- 5-dollar Walmart specials aren't something you want to bet your life on. But when the first one went it was just a little annoying- long story short- they all went out. One by one each cheapo Walmart special died and left us in utter darkness. It took a few minutes but we started panicking, arguing, it was getting pretty ugly- but luckily as we were doing so, I saw something coming- a light. Some other ppl had come in to see the waterfall- thank God. We walked back out with them- there is no way we would've ever made it without a light. Had those ppl not come in there when they did- we would've been in serious trouble. We did have one cigarette lighter but you can't crawl on your bell through water and keep it lit. Besides, that cave was so big and the way around so difficult to find- I highly doubt you would do it with a cigarette lighter.
Pretty captivating story, a nice lesson/moral to it as well. The problem is, people can type out long stories while having nothing to say, so you're not sure if it's worth the time and focus to read it.
woody why are you flipping me off ffor half the video???
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Woody is hilarious 😂 why are you here ? Lol
Lil' Woody X...
I love you all but honestly, Gus, you staring straight into the camera with next no expression for the entire video makes me not want to look at the video…. My soul feels less then viewed. It’s much more comforting instantly when you start to look at who is talking. Woody looking at each other is comforting hahah
You can close your eyes and enjoy the ride :)
Push but don’t poke woody , he’s a good story teller
Mr. Ballen-esque with the "not actual photo" lol
Just follow the current of the water out. Easy
The best thing about dive talk besides the knowledge which is outstanding, I go to diving comments now, and everyone is spitting knowledge it never use to be like, a lot act if they are divers which is ok don’t bother me, cause they may not get into the super tech stuff but they really go in on safety, training, and knowing your limits and not going past them. So thank you for that. But I love the diving content just folks swimming under water, I love the sounds little light, and you guys are really good guys, from the information I see I don’t know you guys personally but from what I seen you guys are good people so thank you
They're definitely good people

I live in the Monterey Peninsula near Point Lobos and was wondering if you have ever been diving here? Anyhow, best of luck with all of your endeavors as you deserve it!
Those knives are actually very cool!!!
This is such a good episode. My only advise, Woody this is for you, please let your guests talk and finish what they’re saying. I couldn’t count the amount of times you interrupted your guest! Other than that, I loved it!
Ah see I thought the opposite I was glad he kept it on track (which for a lot of the video, it was not...)
Are you guys going to react to the prime movie thirteen lives? Deals with the Thai cave incident and the divers involved
Yes
Dude I can't wait for their reaction !!!
Oh man brilliant and the last 10 minutes... I am on the floor :D :D
Forgive me for not remembering the original commenter that said "If Gus yelled at me it would like my dad and I'd be scared but if Woody yelled at me, it would be like my mom and I'd really think about what I did wrong"(I did "like" the comment because it wa so accurate) but this one regressed to where Woody turned into the little brother of "do it, yeah do it". Sigh, you guys, how the roles have changed..... Naughty boys! Encouraging your "son"! :)
Lol, I've been really enjoying your channel, but I think I'm gonna pass on cave diving for myself...I might take up whitewater kayaking though.
Hi Woody! There's a snake in your fin!f Just kidding! Have fun diving to INFINITY and BEYOND! xP
Am EDC flashlight nerd here too. Even my keychain has a 600 lumen blaster on it.
With several multi-thousand lights and many hours of battery power: I am the Master of the Night.
The funny thing is I used to be punk, the guy in the middle but grew up to be classy and into my bright colours, mainly green, pink and blue. I remember telling my brother that I think I've found he American Midday/Maddog.
Oh, kids and their shenanigans. The worst property damage I did was break a picture window that ended up needing custom glasswork to replace, all because I legitimately thought a rock-throwing contest in the backyard was a great idea. All other poorly planned shenanigans just ended with injuries to myself...the classics, like getting my brother to pull me with a rope on his bike, while I wear inline skates, and let go just in time to land a sweet jump on a homemade ramp (did not even make it to ramp before disaster).
I know someone who accidentally caused a fire in their outbuilding that came very close to exploding into a wildfire. Burned part of their property, but got put out about 10 hours before the Santa Ana winds came through the area and fueled a few other fires in the county.
the only time I experienced ''UTTER'' darkness was in a coal mine in Wales.
''Big Pit'' mine, where the Miners were giving guided tours.
We were told to turn off our torches on our helmets, and my goodness....the darkness was immense.
Loved this video, Dylan is briliant, Gus and Woody are hillarious. Gus is that despairing parent trying to contol Woody the hyperactive kid that just discovered his new best friend has the same crazy imagination that he has🤣.
Does it count having a dream of being in complete darkness? Cause one time I had a dream where I was in complete darkness.. in fact, I'd say I was in a void. Not a single bit of light anywhere, couldn't hear anything, I think I was floating.. there wasn't anything to touch.. woke up screaming and in a cold sweat O. O parents thought I was having a seizure ^^; I always thought it was weird to have that strong of an emotion when nothing was going on, but I guess being in nothingness can do that to you O:
FATHER: It's flooding.
SON: *shrug* Wasn't when _I_ saw it.
SO quintessential kid-mind!
Well... My story is really really tame compared to this one.
On the playground of the kindergarten I went to was a tunnel. Not one made out of those huge concrete pipe but one reinforced with wood like a mineshaft. It was high enough for a kindergarten age kid to walk through bent forward a little bit. It wasn't a straight tunnel, it had a little zigzag curve in the middle. It was awesome!
One day they announced that we were no longer allowed to stay in there, but we were only allowed to walk through (if I remember correctly) and eventually it was closed aka they said we were no longer allowed to enter and the entraces were "closed" with caution tape.
So this kindergarten also happened to have a assortment of sandbox toys. Buckets, shovels and tiny little boats as they had a water pump and a table for making mud cakes and kids obviously built little rivers for said boats. They also had two larger toy ships. Really nice plastic toy ships. One went missing and it was apparently known that it ended up inside the closed off tunnel.
I ended up sneaking in, trying to wait for a moment when the lady looking after the kids in this are of the playground wasn't looking. So I basically snuck in like I am evading NPCs sight in a hitman game, I got the boat and I managed to get out unnoticed...
In retrospect it was probably not a smart idea to go in but I also assume that they would have removed that tunnel immediately if it would have been a "it could collapse at any given moment" type of situation.
In the end the tunnel was removed and they turned it into a valley/trench with big logs crossing it and even though we were disappointed that our tunnel was gone we quickly figured out tons of things to do around this valley/trench.
Dylan is a fantastic storyteller wow, you're right Woody! Great great video.
I am glad RUclips is around for people to circumvent Hollywood and executive producers to make their own shows and content. This show is good, been binging it a few days now
Half joking "can we blow up a jet ski?"
"Well we have the proper licenses so yeah sure"

I wanna see you guys blow up a jet ski! Let's have a cross over channel video! Would love to see Woody and Gus in one of Dylans videos. Can totally imagine Cowboy Woody in full period gear! 😂
At first glance…
I thought that was Gordon Ramsey in the thumbnail.. haha..
Way off..
In mine exploring we have our own sets of rules that bring us back out alive. One is "right hand rule" It's like looking at your arm and hand and fingers. If you stay on right hand rule it will bring you back out. major rule powerful lights lots of extra batteries, another major rule is "don't touch anything" most mounds inside mines are from collapses and can form dams. All mines are generally cut at about 3 degrees up hill. that way water runs out and mine cars can roll easy. The scary parts of mine exploring is false floors, if you fall through one you can die. or fall into a flooded section. Never go into a mine without proper preparation. Should have a helmet on your head too... One small rock could ruin your day or worse. Cool story :)
Woody; "accidentally starting one of the biggest fires in south Florida"!!! What a legend, he never ceases to surprise.
I LOVE how Gus will sneak in a "stab your self in the heart" every once and a while ROFLLLL!!!!!!
