Today I found this by accident, browsing through the map files. I got a bit exited, because I've never known about this. I'll be honest, I thought it was half life 3.
It happened the same thing to me, when i started the map in my mind i was like: Wait, is this portal? Did i open half life 3? I don't even have Half life 3? Is this a bug? An Easter egg?
I've played so long ago and just now I found out about this playable teaser. In 2020. I have to say, valve really got the hang of making stuff a ton more cinematic since half life 2. I hope half life Alyx will be a great game, even if it might not be available to everybody.
I think I remember seeing the regular live-action teaser for this actually. What's funny is that this video game teaser for a MOVIE does a better job of graphics, exposition, tension and wonder than most real games. But then again it was made by Valve.

First JJ Abrams makes a reference to Half lfie 2 in Lost. Then Valve makes a reference to the Dharma Initiative in HL2 Ep2. now they make a teaser for JJ Abrams's newest movie. What could be next?
Well, the Super 8 movie is actually looking to be a very neat looking movie. Although what ever this thing is (Alien, bio-logical animal, test subject, etc) I have a theory on what happened during the moments leading up to the crash. With the fact that a truck seemed to actually try and make the Train crash leaves me to wonder. What reason does the person that caused the train crash have to prove? Either he was trying to show what really was in Area 51, or he was simply mind controlled. IDK.
And if I was right about the mind control thing, it leaves me to actually think that beast of the sort wanted to get out and with the powers it had at its disposal, it controlled the car or the driver in order to cause the train to crash. Although, I think it makes more sense with the driver proving a point part. I am not exactly sure which makes more sense
