Not the point of the video, but I really like the crop at 7:50. The bushes are out of focus, so in my mind clearly meant just as a framing device for the plane. Cropping in preserves that effect while giving the appropriate amount of space to your (quite small!) subject. Just my two cents!
7:02 Kentmore Pan 400 has been my favorite B&W film sim and your Salted Slate recipe is peaking my interest! Very good job with that one! It should be said, your naming convention is an art form on its own! Cheers from USA
I think the real challenge is what to choose to be on the camera and what to choose in advance while taking photos. Doing it after the fact is a totally different process
When I bought my x100v as edc one of the advantages for me was not having to chose between lenses. This however has now changed to chose what filmsim. And there are more sims than lenses (in my possession). So one ‘problem’ replaced by another 🙈. So I use max. 3 sims and forget about the rest 🥳.
Haha yeah it’s hard to choose sometimes. My go-to choices are generally Astia, Classic Chrome & Acros. I’m only starting to get to grips with the look that Classic Negative can create!
@@rossandhisjpegs What do you think of the GFX cameras? There is a thought to move away from cropped cameras towards a larger sensor, but don't want to move away from Fuji)
@@dimabiserI’d love to give one a go but I can’t see myself ever buying one. I need a camera that’s fairly small, compact and fast. Moving to medium format I reckon would be too big of a jump up. I sold my X-H2s for the full frame S5IIX because I missed full frame for professional work! What about you?
@@rossandhisjpegs Thanks for the reply! It's hard to disagree with you. GFX are very large and slow cameras, and that's what keeps me from buying one. And GF autofocus lenses are very expensive. In general, I am not a professional photographer, it's a hobby for me, maybe I will decide to make the switch. I am also attracted to Nikon ZF, but I understand that I will miss fuji recipes and these colors)
I love the color grading of this video. How can you do this? Or can you point me to the right direction? Sorry im a noob, just bought my Fuji XT1 a week ago
Hey! You’re welcome. All Fujifilm cameras have Film Simulations built into the camera as these are the Fujifilm ‘picture profiles’. The newer cameras have more Film Sims than the older models and more settings that you can adjust to create recipes. Hope that answers your question!
Man this felt so artificial/fake. Clearly reacting to edits already made. Just made this whole vid seem a bit forced, especially with the rediculous amount of recipes presented. Just my 2 cents
Really appreciate your content so much!! Thanks for walking us through the good and the bad along with your reasoning! Appreciate it Ross!
Absolute pleasure. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy the recipes. 👊
Hi Ross. Great video! I really like the way that you presented and compared different film sims and provided the recipe for each one that you used.
Thanks very much!!

well done and very inspiring!
Thanks you thank you!!
Will try some for sure in my XT5!!mI wish you had similar list of presets/film simulations for Ricoh GRIII.
Awesome. Let me know how it goes. Well… if you want to buy me one I’ll make some recipes for sure haha
That's perfect! Love your recipes) Even with my old X-Pro2) Thanks, Ross!
Thanks! I’d love an X-Pro2

Thanks! Yeah the video is shot with my LUMIX S5IIX and I use the Gamut.io conversion LUT and look LUTs from The LUT company
@@rossandhisjpegs thank you 🙏
bravo
Thanks
Hi Ross. Thanks for sharing these amazing recipes of yours! Can I check if the simulations only work with X-Trans 4 sensor?

Hello there. Once my 7 slots are filled with custom recipes, how can I select one of the factory default recipes ?
Hey :) how can you use like every recipe you ever created afterwards? I thought you can only save 7?
Fujifilm have software called FUJI X RAW Studio where you can add your recipes onto RAW images after you’ve shot them. Hope this helps!!
Fuji X Raw Studio not working :( just says - waiting for camera connection - any ideas?? *connection settings all set properly I swear
:/ sorry no idea. Maybe turn the computer off and on again.
@@rossandhisjpegs figured it out! You must directly connect the camera to the computer. You cannot connect to a hub that connects to the computer.

Thanks so much for watching!
Mans focused too much on the names and forgot to make a good recipe
