Subscribed I find you to be an excellent teacher when it's time to build my LS swap motor you will be the one I watch and learn what I need to do. Thank you. I've watched a lot of people build LS Motors on RUclips and some of them are actually good competent people. But not one of them has taught the correct procedures how to do it

I've watched this entire LS rebuild series and really have to commend you for your work. I can't imagine a more well-rounded and in-depth presentation. Incredibly informative with all the background you add to put things in context and perspective. I really appreciate what you've done. Thank you!

Great step by step by using the proper tools.
Couple of steps I would do is go over the torqued cover bolts AFTER removing the block plate.
You forgot to mention the rubber bits on the bottom of the cover gaskets protrude past the block into the groove cut into the underside of the block plate (which you didn't show).
    Great series though.

1st of all, u r a very honest n very talented engine builder. Yo way of explaining n not cutting corners on this LS1 build is excellent. I have a 1998 corvette 5.7 LS1 motor which started knocking. i replaced the motor in my sons car but kept the old one for other project. I want to build it myself in order to lean more about LS series engines . Have 55 Chevy truck n 67 Camaro which iam planning to switch the engine with LS motors. I also have 1972 Nissan 240Z with L28 engine. It will b great honor if u can show guys like us how things r done right when it comes to engine builds. On L28 inline 6 which is from 280Z cars r most common engine swap with 240Z cars but not many UTube videos r out there which shows or explains like u do. I hope u can make this happen in future. Keep yo good work going. Car culture /Classic cars or restoremond world needs teacher like u to help guys like us to fill full our hobby's. Thx

Hey I love your videos! I'm helping my buddy rebuild his 6.0 LS2 engine and he put the main caps in with #5 in the front going back to #1 instead of starting with #1 in the front. ALL LS engines start with #1 in the front right? Do you think he damaged anything by torquing it down that way? And he also greased both sides of the bearings on the main, the crank side is the only side that's supposed to have lubricant right?

If the engine is installed in the car and it’s not without the oil pan, can’t you just utilize the oil pan location as the tool and that way you’re already aligned?
Just clarifying this to make sure that makes sense
Restating the question… If the oil pan is attached to the block, doesn’t that provide a proper alignment for the timing cover, considering it would be exactly where it needs to be?
