Sonic Lost World: Casino Strobe Glitch

- EPILEPSY WARNING. This is a weird glitch that can happen in Sonic Lost World's casino stage, Frozen Factory 3. The glitch happens on the second pinball table. Essentially, what happens is the screen starts spazzing out and flashing in a strobe-like manner at 24 Hz. While the glitch is in effect, the game will lag a ton, you won't be able to control Sonic, and you'll be stuck there until you get a time over and die; after that, you'll respawn in the pinball table and everything will be back to normal.
I've done this twice, but I'm not completely sure what causes it, although I'm pretty sure it's related to the pinball flippers. My theory is that it has something to do with Sonic getting stuck on a flipper. Going frame-by-frame, Sonic seems to get stuck on the tip of the flipper, then he disappears briefly before the flashing and distortion begins.
I'm a bit worried about this one since this type of effect can potentially cause seizures in epileptics. If you suffer from epilepsy, then you might want to avoid going to the second pinball table; it's a bonus area and can be completely avoided with no ill effects other than not being able to get one red star ring. It's accessed by jumping on top of the stack of chips at the end of the second main room. I don't believe the glitch happens on the first pinball table (which is required to complete the level), but I could be wrong about that. I'm also not an expert on epilepsy so I hope I'm not blowing this out of proportion. :P

It's wise to keep this video at 0.25 speed. Even for me who does not get seizures, this really hurts.

That's not a skull, it's the pinball table.
Paraxade0 It doesn't look like the table though, and the flashing looks almost the exact same no matter where the glitch occurs(I saw a video where it was caused by a random bumper not on the pinball table)

You can do this glitch in Desert Ruins Zone 4 also.

Saw this my first time playing through here. Haven't encountered it since, but now I know I'm not the only one who's encountered this. I was able to just hit the pause button and restart the level.

Now multiply that over an entire game and you have Sonic Colors Ultimate (apparently, I haven't played it yet so I don't know).

Also, I remembered this game has a native framerate of 60fps. Imagine this, recorded in 60fps, on a 120hz monitor, at 2x speed.
Yeah... you usually won't find me advocating for patches, but in this case seeing as how it's a potential health hazard, yeah, I really hope this gets fixed. :s Can anyone forward this video to RubyEclipse or someone else at Sega?

First Hyper Sonic, now this.
Firstly, is it strange fir this to be the on,y game to have flashing colors outside the skybox instead of black, a plain color, or... …whatever Conker's Bad Fur Day and Super Mario 3D World do, and second, does anybody notoce that when it starts showing the flashing colors, it starts with the image of the last frame before said flashing lights, then all those details dissolves into blobby shapes, gradually turning into one side being ahite and the ither being dark-purple?
That's when I want the games much more than any time-when an intense glitch is explored.
But maybe that's what they "patched" with the 2.0.0 update, an easter egg? Lol xD

Now that I think about it Pokemon seemed to have had yet ANOTHER incident with their games that caused seizures like the banned episode. I mean there was the Lavender Town theme with that high pitched note that caused horrible frequencies that gave kids playing with headphones some headaches. It was confirmed to be real but thankfully nobody dies neither did it get out of hand.

Sega should really consider speed runners like you to test their games. I'm pretty sure beta testers are just average people they pick from the streets to play the game normally. I think the industry could really benefit with people like you.

And... BTW I think this might be caused of hitting the bottom-most "spring thingie" and the bumper at the same time. Weird, still.

This same glitch happened to me, except it happened outside of the pinball table after I hit a bumper. I think it has something to do with the bumpers rather than the flippers.

It's not. I've encountered this glitch on one of the higher flippers as well. Also, no, this isn't what they patched with version 2.0.

What cause the weird color pattern when it starts flashing? It looks nothing like the pinball table anymore and reminds me of when older video games made random colored pixels cover the screen when they'd get corrupted.
Hey, if by chance you're still curious, it's not 100% factual but I believe it has something to do with data storage in the bottom of the level. I don't know how sonic lost world specifically stores it's data, but you can recreate the same effect in desert ruins by going below the stage. Maybe it's to do with the camera, or otherwise. Either way it's abysmal this even happens

What was that "ugh" sound at the end? It was right before the screen turned black and said "Try Again!" and when it was still flashing pink-purple and white, but when it was about to turn black and say Try Again.
I am 11 and I didnt experience epilepsy while watching this video. It only hurt my eyes and I didnt get any seizures.

Pretty much there is a weird strobe effect if you go way out of bounds below. Sonic probably got knocked so strong he was kicked out of the keel, and it caused this. You can actually do this in another level, but it's extremely tricky.
