SF is no joke, I live here and live about 6 blocks from market and this is my hood. The homeless druggies and alcoholics are a pain and whiney BUT there are decent people who end up homeless this is a hard city. Give some respect to these people, when the going rate for a studio is $1550 in a BAD area, you can see why this place is hard. Min. wage 10 and hour still is not enough. No job gives you 40 hours a week thank the liberals here. So you must get two jobs, but that is the problem.
Looking at this guy reminds me of when I or my husband were first homeless. No one seems to realize how fast things can spiral out of control. Some people have lousy jobs and living paycheck to paycheck. Have your car break down and here you are less than a month from your last paycheck. I met biophysicists, Corporate CEOs, you name it. Some people get in over their heads in investing, some have their own businesses fail.
Sigh, our society only cares about circumstances which should never be when it effects middle class people and so forth. People will legitimize/rationalize their reasons for not helping and treating homeless people like they are worthless in an attempt to sleep better at night and avoid being a recent home being. Regardless of the mistakes a person might do after you help, we should help those that need/appreciate and use it wisely. People are worthful, not worthless. Give them jobs. Take care,
If in this situation: don't be afraid to ask other homeless for help. They can get you so many resources. Pick a shelter you can keep your most important belongings at, and job hunt every day. especiallu, day labor. it is cash and it will buy you the things you need most plus gradually, you can save up. Those grubby looking homeless saved my life!!!
I really appreciate videos like this one from another perspective. I sincerely hope that you'll continue making clips like this one and perhaps even longer and in more depth. Perhaps you could even sell what you film if it goes well. I'm just brainstorming a bit but I hope something can grow from this. Good luck!
Red states (eg: white republicans) draw the most welfare, food stamps, unemployment, etc.. But that's okay, because the money that goes to them has the highest return in terms of stimulating the economy. Especially with food stamps (100%). Tax cuts for the rich, OTOH, has the lowest.
Next time on TheKarmaTrain: Some redditor sets up a fund for this poor homeless man and over $500,000 was raised. People then accused him of running with the money and CNN heard and jumped on board. The end
I just want to say, someone please set up paid ads on this channel. I will subscribe and watch every video if it goes to help a real person, and I think others would too. This is interesting and it's important.
Great idea. He really should keep this project up. Does he leave the flip with you to upload and recharge or is this his/your own channel and if so how do you upload these vids.
whoa, I get off the 4th and king station everyday on my way to work. I've probably passed this guy a ton of times without even noticing. Next time I'm saying hi.
Homeless Mo is friends with a guy who gave him the camera. I'm sure he comes back and gets the camera after week or so and uploads the videos he records for him.
Go to a shelter. Use the sink, perhaps a mirror too. You can still have things while being homeless. A bag of toiletries doesn't seem unreasonable.
Am I the first person to ask why are you homeless? Not hating just want to know some background info, before blindly offering support.
When i watch videos about homeless people i realize that i need to stop FUCKING complaining about my life.
"Whats yo name?" "Andrew" *moves video camera closer to his face* "what?" I laughed wayy too hard.
Will we be seeing more of this Mo meets? I find it extremely interesting and has great potential.
what does him staying alive and not being trained have to do with holding a camera still....
wow i too am in the dominican republic. came here 2 months ago from australia. brothaaa!
These interviews make a difference. We need story-tellers in these days of numbers
If you haven't made a donation, do it! Every dollar helps out the homeless!
Its probably hard to get money from strangers when your holding a camera.
"decent home being" not "recent home being": sigh. Lol. Take care,
what city is this in? I saw a gentleman's club in the back....
for a homeless person he has a very well maintained beard
If you look closely at the title, it says San Francisco.
Damn this is going to be a cool series of interviews.
