Thanks for sharing your pulling tractor and explaining more about it. Yes sir it's a lot of work involved. Been around some buddies and their tractors. Hope you have a great time and do well when you get to pull it.
Guys like you really burn up those big money guys trust me ... nothing against any one of course but the old saying goes never judge a book by its cover. Some of my favorites don't even have any covers at all !!!
Hey Dan! The water is mainly used to cool the compressed air, thus making it denser, the steam will cause some expansion, increasing the pressure slightly. It really helps if the steam is expanding in the cylinder at the time of combustion.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Hey Bill, I like the explanation. Did you realize that when one drop of water turns to steam you now have 1,000 times more. I pray that it turns into steam inside of the cylinder. Steam is nasty stuff, 970 BTU's instead of only 212 f. From start to finish how much water is injected in 1 pull ? Maybe about a half gallon ?
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I know a man that pulled with a 4020 ,single front wheel, the true tryke front end. Middle 70s on up to the late 80's. There is some big pull in Lexington, Kentucky, He went a couple of years to it. He had an Ice cooler for the intake air to pass through, I am sure it was pulling water with the air into the turbo now that I see what you are making. Can you dyno a tractor like these to find power output ?
Can’t wait to see it pull! How much water pressure do you run and how do you know when you have the right amount of water going in? It’s always neat to see what your up to!
Hey Calvin! I'll run about a thousand PSI, and adjust the pressure up and down or switch nozzle size to regulate the flow. You want to run just enough water to melting your pistons or popping your turbo. Don't want to see too much fire coming out your exhaust, I look at my turbo exhaust wheel to see if I got it right, should be black with soot except the outer 1/4" should be clean.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Thanks for the reply! Do you inject any water into the exhaust manifold to try and keep the turbo cooler or all in the intake pipe? How do you tell when it’s to much water? Does the power start dropping off?
Kinda like going back in time to the 70s pulling. Nothing shiny but cool as all get out. Can't wait to hear it start up.
Awesome looking tractor. I hope you enjoy pulling it. I have fun with my tractor
Recycle, repurpose, and reuse! That's what farmers have always done. Great video, Bill! I hope y'all can run on Saturday! Bring home a trophy!
Can’t wait to hear it run, this should be called the learning channel Bill, God Bless
It's just that special feeling of making something from what many consider nothing.
Farmers are the original recycling specialists... 🤠
Cool stuff!
The water out of the tire is THS BEST hahaha
We aims to entertain!
Great video Bill, i wish we were neighbors…..
Looking good!
Thanks!

Thought you used a Maurice Gladhill water valve.
Too pretty, too expensive.lol
Disk with hole. Or disk with orifice whichever you prefer!
Looks like the oil needs changed in that hat.
When the water is converted to steam it increases the horsepower ?

@@danthurman9076 Yeah, good estimate, could be a shade more.
