Tractor Pull Stories: Buck$hot Comeback 2001

- In 2001 a badly out dated Buck$hot prostock 5020 was brought out on the circuit again, just to see how far back we'd be, and what l'd need to do to be competitive again. This video shows my best finish that year at the Harford Co. Fair Tractor Pull.
The number of SS/PS entries at any given pull in the 90s and early 2000s throughout Maryland was awesome. Today you might get lucky to have 5 or 6. I remember watching tractors until almost midnight at the Frederick Fair many years.
Yeah, it's a shame the numbers have dwindled down so far.
Love the pre stories. Family is always first. I had to step out of going into basic training to come home to the farm. That was in 2000. My dad's health went south. I made a choice. We all know what happened after that. Im still here on the farm. With my beautiful wife and 4 kids.
Another great video reminds me of me and my dad back 35 years ago I couldn't get a job had a daughter to raise . My dad had 180 acres sitting around have woods I got a chainsaw started logging and raising produce, field corn and beats. Deer feed and humans. My dad did the tractor work I did the rest. Made him feel useful again in his last years. May God bless you and your family over the holidays 🙏 in Jesus name Amen 🙏
Hey Frank! Great job, that's how God intended families to be.
God bless you and yours. I farm with molines. But i have 3 jds as well. Love them all. Nothing i own is newer than 1969. And i don't plan on changing a thing.
You keep makin videos. We will keep watchin …… nice job……. See ya tomorrow in church
Thank you for sharing 👍👍
Love these videos.
Glad you like them!
Great story, family first 👍
Thanks 👍
On of the reasons I enjoy your videos is your humble attitude. You make things look so easy. Living in central Wisconsin I've gone to the Tomah pulls for about 40yrs. I enjoyed them more years back more than today. But being a pulling junky I need my fix. Thanks so much for the old pull videos.
Hey Ron! I'm with you on pulling decades ago being much more enjoyable than todays version.
Very cool videos
Thanks, glad you are enjoying them!
G’Morn’n Bill, I sure do love these trips down memory lane! Your reasons were worthwhile.
My dad had a stroke at 82 and although you couldn’t see any physical effects, things began to spiral downward fairly quickly. He’s 89 now, but he hasn’t been able to participate in any of the daily operations of the farm for a couple of years now. Two years almost to the day, we moved into our new home here just next door to the family farm.
I spent a lot of years being fairly scarce around, aside from making hay which is one of my favorite pastimes. We felt the Holy Spirit moving us to sell our previous home and did so without even an inkling of where we were going. Now it is quite evident why.
In my youth I wanted to be a mechanic, heavy eq. operator and a farmer. I’ve had the first two checked off my list for a long time. I honestly felt that I would never be in this position.
God has given me this opportunity to serve my parents in this fashion, although I have no idea how long it will hold out. One day at a time, sweet JESUS, That’s all I’m asking of you.
Thank you Bill, for sharing your passions, your life.
Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
Hey Tedd! My boys said if you'd gone strait to farmer, you would have been a mechanic and heavy equip. operator! 😆 It's wonderful what you're doing, you'll never regret it, it's a blessing to all involved. Thanks for taking time to share this. Bill
Awesome backstory Bill, really enjoy the days of past tractor pulls, thanks again for what done and are doing, God Bless
👍
Wow it is great that you and your dad were able to pull together. I always heard that pulling is a family sport, i believe it. I bet your dad is watching over you and has a huge smile on his face. Your son must be great men and great mechanics just like you. I always enjoy all your videos.
Thanks for sharing the video Bill. Hey we all do what we have to do in life. You did the right thing in my opinion. Take care.
Thanks 👍
Love it Mr Bill! Let's get her going again in 2024!
Thanks Greg, it would take a lot to get going again.
Love the pulling videos. Like it when you are fixing stuff too.
Glad you like them!
Very nice pulling. I understand having responsibilities at the farm all too well that's why I don't go far
It's called doing the right thing!
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I agree completely
Enjoyed the video.
See ya for church tomorrow
Hi from Canada. Love seeing your pulling tractors. Would love a video of how you cut your pulling tires!! Also love how innovative you are and just work on it till you figure it out
Thanks Calvin for the for the kind words. Going out the door right now to video some tire cutting!
Awesome! Thank you so much
Could you share more information on Buck Shot. Just front to back modifications you made and why. Is it stroked, gearing just that type of stuff. Your story is very interesting.
Nice run!
Thanks for the visit
I live in Ohio close to some prostock tractors that have been pulling for a long time. One is the Rampage and another is Soup Line express. Do you remember these.
Yes I do, but I never crossed paths with them on the track.
Another great video buddy would love to see your dads g he pulled I pull a 700 cubic inch G put together with hammy down junk at the local pulls it does all right 18:40
Cool idea
What's the small silver tank on the front of the 5020 for? Maybe special fuel?
That quarter keg was my fuel tank, and yes, the fuel was my own special blend.😁
So what ever happened to that tractor? Do you still have it. I think of them like old drag cars just sitting behind a garage with beautiful history and bragging rights.
Jumped the gun with the whereabouts of her. I'm so glad you still got it. Subscribed.
