excellent video! wife and I were watching and you had her hooked , after i seen finding the key, I got the "april fool" part. Looking forward to seeing your build
Sure can spin a good yarn, Bill 😂 Funny how the "Dubuque Archives" looks A LOT like a library.... 🤔 Had I known you were heading west, I should've asked you to head on out to Waterloo and see what you could dredge up about the John Deere OX-4, 4010 Utility prototype that we somehow ended up with.
Hey Tony! You'd be amazed how many folks were fooled, even with all the clues and silliness! After explaining to one guy that it was an April fools Prank, he thought a second and then asked, " But the pictures were real right?" LOL
You really found a gem !! Can't wait to see your restoration videos! That is a one of a kind that every JD collector will be after. Glad you found the history of it. God bless and catch you on the next one 👍🙏
The lengths some people will go to on the first of Aprils pretty spectacular, the dog was the smart one at the end ,it'd decided it wanted no part in this and crept off L.O.L.
Wow !! It still has horizontal exhaust as a 6 cylinder. I had only one experimental piece from Deere. A disk sent to D R Mcdonald and sons in Harwood. Deere took it back and measured every piece before they cut it up.
Amazing history! And the records sharing the same date, WOW! I think you should have used the James Bond theme music for such sleuthing, maybe on banjo. Looks like you are healing up, and great video! I never thought Dubuque would look so similar to MD. But small towns have things in common. 😉
In all seriousness, 1964 2010s begin at sn 42,001. At sn 42,001 the transmission gearing and shafts were completely changed and slowed in ground speed compared to the 2010s built previous. “X-26” (especially the tag being attached to the transmission) may very well be an experiment…
really neat bill !! can u show us the hanger where u keep the jet? or is that super top secret i really dont want anything to happen to ya! on to the next mystery!!
Really looking forward to the X-26 rebuild and also want to thank you for " Tractor Church"

I like how the camera almost seemed to linger on the Cherry trees in blossom, you know, the Dubuque Cherry tree blossoms.....
Thank U Bill, so very interesting & you presented it well. I enjoy your sense of hidden humor.
Thank you kindly.

Dude you aint right LOL Didn't know Kevin Costner at one time worked for JD
Cool story bro! It took a lot of commitment to make this video.
The guy with the Deere logo on the back of his shirt, LOL 😂
Glad you liked it!
Very Very interesting Bill
I was really wandering if you drove clear to my part of the country to check out the archives. I'm in Illinois. Very good story, I like April fools.
Great video, our dairy farm is near Dubuque, have relatives the have worked at Deere in Dubuque and my brother and cousin still works there

Moline, Illinois or Waterloo , Iowa ,or Dubuque Iowa ? Deere did sell demo units, 1966 JD 4020 LP model. Up draft carbs suck for sure !

Didn't know Kevin Costner worked for John Deere

I think that's a picture of a car designer his first name was Gordon

I'm not too bright. I was 20 minutes into it before I figured out what was up. I suppose you think you're pretty clever, don't ya'.😉
That was a pretty good story to come up with for an April Fools 😂 it would’ve been believable if you hadn’t told everyone.
NOW HOLD THE PHONE PONY!!!! Reach I done did showed that was the 1st John Deere gas engine with a P Pump
Wow! That will be next years episode!
Wonder if it could be a prototype of the 2510??
