thats a new meaning 2 antique tractor pulls they have hopped those tractors up 😊😊 thats the 1ST time I seen a john deere W a turbo I did see a john deere A W a holley 4 barrel carb 1 time I havent seen 1 since then years ago OMG 9 2 2O23
Good Pulling Video. I don’t think we have classes like that in our area, but I’m not involved in antique pulling. Some of the antique classes are not exciting to watch unless you have someone your there to support. Thanks for the Videos, Bill.
One of my friends who just passed had a D17 gas he put a Holley carburetor and a turbocharger he pulled on Labor Day weekend back in the 1970's in Oakwood, Ohio. Henry Dobbelaere blew it up on Saturday and had it back running for the Monday pull! He also farmed with it, and kept several Gleaner E motors handy! I have had several pretty good tractors but nothing like these! 600ci John Deere 70, 447 ci G Moline and a 460 with 398ci. Nothing like these!
As I watch I am keeping an eye out for a 70 diesel. It is one of the tractors I was raised with. Also I don't recall seeing people pulling them,is there a reason for this?
Man, those old JD twin cyl. diesels are nuts! I don't know how many rpm's they're turning, but it has to be at least 3 times the recommended rpm for an R or an 830.. and turbocharged to boot?!! How do they even keep them together?😱
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 dad had sold 5 tractors to a neighbor 4 70 and a 730 and they run them tractors in the ground and then the farther and got sick and the sons where fighting so on day the dad called Joel and Sold the tractors to him. I'm trying to buy the 730 back it's in Lancaster area it was my dad's favorite the next to his 60
Good pulls, Bill. That old MM with everything sitting on top of the hood at about the 22:00 sure was cool and it made a great pull too. It looked like something in a dystopian future after the collapse of society though but that added to the cool factor of it. LOL
That was a great video. I loved seeing the different combinations being tested. How many rpm were you running the two cylinders? They were SCREAMING!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 😱😮 Holy Moly! I figured that 70 had to be turning at least 2800 or better. That's just bonkers. I'll bet it's a helluva mess if a rod decides to exit the case unexpectedly!😛
I gotta tell ya Bill, I enjoyed the heck out of that! “Hazardous Material” was quite the machine! How fast were you revving the Ol Gal? I read in an article one time that the 2 cylinder Deere’s didn’t work at all well with a turbo... Guess’n the author never met Wild Bill Grimes!😉 Great vintage footage, thanks for sharing! Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
These tractors were the inspiration for lots of people to build their own. This is what we refer to as " Hot Farm " up here. Very cool tractors
Good to see your dad Pullen. My first tractor was a 1937 jd good video
OMG. That young man made someone very proud with that pull! Great way to bring up a youngun!
A good way to start the morning tractor pulling thanks for the video 👍
That was some great old time tractor pulling!!
I wouldn’t want to be the guy on that sled in the last clip. Looked dangerous!! Lol
Thanks for sharing the video. I used to pull antique ones but never modified like these. Pulled an M and SMTA Farmall and a 720 diesel.
That was AWESOME Bill, I don’t know you Dad was puller too, that was way too cool thanks for sharing God Bless

I was at a local pull farm tractors only. A m m tractor was hooked to the sled. It moved the sled 10 to 20 ft a loud bang. The tractor stopped.

They sound pretty stout to me, my 720 Diesel was only 513 cubes.
Thanks for the pulls

Y’all still making the steel frames for 70’s? There’s a couple yall made local to me in Missouri and now I’m wanting one
Yes, please get in touch with us.
Great vid.
Thanks.
I wonder what the reaction of the engineers that design these old tractors to what we can get out of them with a little re-engineering
What your favorite tractor u like pulling with
lt would probably be my 5020 Buck$hot, but l haven't pulled it in a while.

That john Deere 70 was my dad's years ago before it was turned into a pulling tractor
Hey Scott, just out of curiosity, how do you know my 70 belonged to your dad?
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I believe u got it from Joel fonctock in myerstown pa he's the one who took me about the video

Bill on a red tractor can't believe it 😮

The 720 2,250rpm. the 70 turbo close to 3,000.

Great video. Sure is neat watching those turbo tractors. Was that a Massey Harris flat head with a turbo near the end?
Yes it was!
Can you tell us more about it and the other turbo tractors. It sure is neat watching them pull and hearing your stories about them
@@calvint460 Hey Calvin! l make no promises, but l'll see what l can do.
Thanks have a great day
awesome!
Bill dont care about the color. He just wants to go fast and drag heavy stuff.
Once was enough. Lol
Sorry you had to drive that barnyard Ferrari. Hope you had gloves on.
HaHa, it was a favor for a friend.
Thanks Bill!
